How to speed up your computer? Some effective tips. What speeds up the metabolism in the body? Software to help

Hello dear readers.

First, let's define the concept of a “weak” computer. A “weak” computer is hardware with low performance, that is, with a small amount of RAM, a weak video card and a low processor clock speed. Let's say right away: forget about such a stupid and suicidal method as overclocking, or, as it is also called, overclocking nodes. Why? Yes, simply because you will kill your hardware!
Now let’s clarify what weak RAM is. There are users who believe that even 2 GB of RAM is not enough. What then can we say about such volumes as 256 or 512 MB? However, such volumes exist, since not everyone can afford to buy hardware with bells and whistles. It is precisely these weak amounts of memory, as well as weak processors and video cards, that will be discussed further.

You have a weak computer that you got from a neighbor, friend, sidekick, or just for cheap. The hardware parameters are very, very small: memory - 256 MB, video card - the same, processor - 1.3 GHz. Naturally, such a miracle of technology will not work adequately: weakness is not joy.

Such parameters were used purely for office computers: just right for work, and you can play solitaire. But if you use this benefit of civilization for some of your own purposes, then it should be accelerated. And how to do it? No, the upgrade is not only unnecessary, it will also be superfluous: you will simply overpay for the parts, since old computers are rarities for which you cannot find the necessary spare parts during the day. So what should you do?

Here is the sequence of actions:

Firstly, disable everything unnecessary from startup: leave only the antivirus and a program such as ctfmon.exe and Punto switcher - only these three. To do this, we need to press the Windows + R button combination. The “Open” field will appear. We write the msconfig command into it and click “OK”, then we need to select the “Startup” section and here we uncheck all programs and tasks that we do not need.

Secondly, reduce the memory load. To do this, right-click on an empty space on the desktop. In the drop-down menu, select the Properties line. The Properties: Options window opens. This is where we will change the settings. First, you should reduce the transmission quality: from 32 bits to 16 bits. Let's say right away: you will hardly notice the difference visually, but for the system this will be a big relief. Just change the setting and click Apply and Ok.

Now, if you have Sleep mode enabled, then turning it off will free up a large chunk of RAM. The “Sleep” mode is turned off like this: in the Properties window: Screen, click on the Screensaver tab. You will see the Energy Saving section and the Power button - click on it. The Properties: Power Options window will open, and at the top you will see several tabs, among which will be Sleep Mode - click on it. Now just uncheck the box next to the Allow sleep mode line and click OK.

How to spend as little money as possible but increase your computer's performance as much as possible? Let's figure it out.

We will not consider all sorts of programs and tricks that can speed up Windows. It's free, but you will spend a lot of time. But the result will be insignificant (the increase will be only a few percent, except in advanced cases with a cluttered OS, when only a reinstallation will help).

We'll talk about hardware - about possible ways to upgrade your computer.

SSD drive
If you have Windows installed on your HDD, you're in luck. Because you can buy an SSD and install the operating system and programs there. After this, your computer will start working much faster. You will feel it immediately. For example, the OS will load in just 10-15 seconds. Programs will launch and run faster.

You need to buy an SSD disk with a capacity of at least 120 GB (they cost from 3 thousand rubles). If you work with a large number of programs or often play games, take a solid-state drive with a capacity of 240 GB or higher (from 5 thousand rubles).

Installing an SSD disk into a system unit is a simple operation. But if you want to replace the HDD with an SSD in a laptop, you will have to tinker. If you have an Apple MacBook and live in Ukraine, it is better to contact the service center (http://macuser.ua/servis). It's safer this way.

Memory
There is no such thing as too much memory. The more, the better (within reasonable limits). Unfortunately, memory is expensive these days (8 GB DDR4 costs from 5.5 thousand rubles), so try to wait for the price to drop.

Try to buy memory sticks in pairs. If there is already one, buy another one exactly the same (all indices in the name must match). Two identical memory sticks will be able to operate in dual-channel mode, which will give a slight performance increase compared to memory sticks operating in single-channel mode.

Video card
Another good way to improve productivity. First of all, it is recommended for those who have a video processor built into the central processor.
But usually gamers need to replace the video card with a more powerful one. Another advantage of this method: it’s quite easy to sell an old video card.

We will not recommend a specific model. The main thing is to make sure that the motherboard has the right slot for installing the card, and that the power supply will handle the power of the video card.
And yes, we don’t recommend buying new video cards today: they have increased in price again, and the number of available models has decreased. Better to wait.

CPU
This method is rarely used. The fact is that it is more difficult to sell an old processor than a used video card. In addition, the new processor must be suitable for the current motherboard. If this is not the case, you will have to buy a new motherboard and possibly change the memory (for example, DDR3 to DDR4). And this is half of the system unit.

HDD
A new hard drive usually does not increase speed (unless you have an old and slow hard drive). But it helps indirectly, allowing you to unload other partitions of the SDD and old HDD.

Conclusion
If you don't have an SSD, we suggest starting the upgrade with one. This is the best way to increase the speed of your computer for relatively little money. Buying memory or replacing a video card is also a good option.

Many people notice that gradually their metabolism, or metabolism, slows down. Extra pounds and fatigue begin to appear. To speed it up, improve the condition of the body and lose weight without harm to health, you need to understand what affects the slowdown of metabolism and how to speed it up using natural methods.

What slows down your metabolism

There are a dozen factors that slow down metabolism. Some of them can be influenced and significantly speed up metabolism.

Lack of thyroid hormones and other hormonal disorders. Thyroid diseases can both speed up and slow down metabolism. This is especially evident in women when they sit on various diets for a long time and have difficulty losing a couple of kilos. For example, undiagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome can make it difficult to lose weight. In such cases, correction with medications and medical supervision is necessary.

Age and gender. Due to the difference in muscle mass, men's metabolic rate is slightly higher. With age, due to accumulated toxins and a sedentary lifestyle, metabolism slows down by an average of 5% for every 10 years of life.

Excess weight. Metabolic rate is affected by different types of tissues. Compared to fat deposits, muscles improve metabolism. Due to the fact that their structure is denser and they move more, their need for burning calories is higher. As weight increases due to fat, calorie burning slows down.

Lack of protein and fiber intake. The absence of fiber from fruits and vegetables in the diet can increase a person’s weight by 5-7%. And animal protein from fish and meat dishes is a building material for muscles that activates metabolic processes. It is also found in poultry, mushrooms, nuts, and dairy products.

Lack of iron, calcium and vitaminD. Calcium and iron allow fats to be absorbed faster. Iron is also responsible for transporting oxygen to the muscles, where calories are burned. Replenishing the lack of iron and calcium from natural sources - meat, seafood, greens, oatmeal, dairy products - will help improve metabolic processes. Vitamin D is directly involved in metabolism. Bran, fatty fish such as mackerel, trout, and salmon fillet help compensate for its deficiency.

What helps speed up metabolism

  • Physical activity, namely strength training aimed at developing, increasing and activating muscle mass. Aerobic long-term cardio exercise affects the vascular system and causes calories to be burned faster.
  • Daily breakfast. At night, metabolic processes slow down. The body needs to be “started up” again with a morning meal. Cells need to receive enough energy and beneficial nutrients in the morning to work efficiently throughout the day and not accumulate more excess fat.
  • Separate meals. It is better to divide three daily meals into 5-6. Long periods of time between meals reduce your metabolic rate. Feeding calories in small portions throughout the day will keep your metabolism at a certain level. More information about separate meals -.
  • Food should be healthy. Regular snacks and fast food are not suitable as mini-snacks. You need a complete source of protein, as well as a large serving of fiber-rich vegetables. The body spends a lot of energy on breaking down such nutrients. Ideal foods for this are leafy and green vegetables, sea or river fish, blueberries, fresh tomatoes, whole grains and unsweetened fruits.

  • Sufficient amount of liquid. A dehydrated body slows down metabolic processes, affecting the body's temperature, and it begins to store fat. This metabolic trap can be avoided by drinking at least 2 liters of plain water per day.
  • B vitamins. The lack of such important vitamins for the body causes fatigue, decreased muscle function, and nervous system disorders. Metabolism is largely supported by the work of the muscles, which absorb glucose as an energy source and digest it. If muscle function is impaired due to a lack of vitamins, metabolic processes slow down accordingly.
  • Visiting a bathhouse or sauna. Such thermal procedures can increase fat metabolism. An increase in body temperature activates fat metabolism. The breakdown of fat deposits accelerates, and body weight gradually decreases if you visit the bathhouse or sauna regularly. But in order to replenish the loss of fluid that comes out with sweat, it is necessary to drink more fluid during thermal procedures.
  • Avoiding strict diets and fasting. With a sharp lack of energy in the form of food, the body begins to accumulate it, slowing down metabolic processes. Studies have shown that basal metabolism decreases by 25-30% during fasting.

What is metabolism and what affects its intensity? What foods affect active metabolism? Let's find out from the video.

Foods that speed up metabolism

There are a number of products that, when introduced into your diet, can speed up the burning of fat and excess calories.

Coconut milk. The special structure of the fats contained in this product requires enhanced breakdown. They do not accumulate in cells, but are sent directly to the liver for digestion, providing the body with energy.

Mustard. This is not only a classic seasoning for dishes. It is known for its therapeutic uses in Eastern medicine, especially to promote digestion and proper nutrient metabolism. Mustard seeds are steamed in boiling water and taken for weight loss.

Apple vinegar. It effectively helps burn excess. Japanese studies have shown that with sufficient consumption of acetic acid, a person does not gain much weight, even if he does not adhere to a diet, but allows himself fatty foods and deli meats.

Milk. This drink does not particularly affect calorie burning, but during low-calorie diets it helps maintain metabolism at a stable level. It provokes the body to stop accumulating energy and start spending it on life activities.

Coffee or green tea. The caffeine found in these favorite morning drinks is a mild metabolic stimulant. It increases endurance during active sports, invigorates and gives strength. Green tea additionally contains catechins, which help improve thermogenesis, causing cells to burn more calories. But you should not overstimulate your nervous system and drink large quantities of these drinks. To speed up fat metabolism, 1 cup of coffee or freshly brewed green tea is enough per day.

Red pepper. This is a product with a negative calorie content, or rather a spice that forces the body to spend more energy on digesting it. Red pepper is often used as a treatment, as it contains a special substance – capsaicin, which helps remove excess fat deposits.

Protein food. Foods rich in protein and protein have an increased thermal effect. That is, the gastrointestinal tract spends a lot of energy on its digestion and absorption. To “start” metabolic mechanisms and maintain them all day, you should include animal or natural protein in every meal - fish, meat, eggs, something from dairy.

Additional Information. Nuts and legumes (lentils, as well as peas and beans) are filled with plant proteins. The latter contain both fiber and beneficial potassium and iron, which help maintain the healthy functioning of the entire body.

Grapefruit and other citrus fruits. According to scientific research, this exotic fruit or its freshly squeezed juice helps you lose weight. Its fibers and acids normalize digestion and absorption of nutrients, as well as the elimination of toxins. Other citrus fruits are also beneficial because they contain long-digesting fiber and vitamins involved in metabolism.

Ginger. It contains a special enzyme that helps digest food and effectively speeds up metabolism. Scientists have noticed that ginger root promotes better oxygen supply to muscle tissue, which is where glucose is converted directly into energy.

Seafood and fish. Squid, mussels, fatty fish, especially red fish, contain Omega-3 acids and protein, which improve metabolism and reduce leptin levels. If you don’t want to cook them, you can replace them with capsule fish oil, as well as flaxseed or walnuts.

Cinnamon. This oriental spice can reduce the concentration of glucose in the blood, which in turn increases metabolism, encouraging cells to consume fats and digest them into energy.

Almond. This nut is rich in minerals and vitamins that have a positive effect on vision, metabolism, and the cardiovascular system. It is a source of natural protein, rare microelements and healthy fats. For a nutritious snack, nothing beats a handful of roasted almonds.

Cabbage. Many varieties of this vegetable are useful for weight loss. This includes cauliflower, white cabbage, broccoli, and kohlrabi. They have everything to fully accelerate metabolism - calcium, vitamin C, fiber, B vitamins.

Spinach. Spinach leaves contain manganese, which is necessary for healthy fat burning and is beneficial for bone tissue, normal functioning of the thyroid gland, brain, hematopoiesis, and hormone production.

Note! This healing vegetable ranks first among fat-burning foods due to its high content of natural protein, fiber and beneficial microelements.

Herbs that speed up metabolism

The following folk remedies help cleanse the body, enhance metabolic processes and lose weight:
  • decoction of swamp blueberry leaves;
  • infusion of knotweed herb;
  • infusion of linden or blueberry leaves;
  • decoction of plantain leaves (see also -).

Drugs to speed up metabolism

  • Stimulants, the most harmless of which is caffeine. Once a person starts taking such drugs, he or she becomes addicted. They have many negative side effects, such as heart rhythm disturbances, trembling hands, increased blood pressure, nervous overexcitation and insomnia.
  • Anabolic steroid. Widely used by bodybuilders. Of course, they activate the metabolism, but the male sex hormones included in their composition disrupt the normal functioning of many organs, undermining health. After their withdrawal, metabolism is disrupted, and obesity appears.
  • Somatropin, that is, growth hormone. Its long-term use speeds up metabolism, leads to fat loss and muscle building. This drug has a lot of side effects.

Important! People who take such fat burners, which are unsafe for health, harm their body. It is better to go towards the goal of losing weight using natural methods, even if they do not immediately lead to instant results.

Safe natural stimulants are:
  • Echinacea purpurea;
  • ginseng;
  • Chinese lemongrass;
  • radiola pink;
  • Eleutherococcus
Mineral and vitamin complexes play a special place in fat burning:
  • "Alfa Vita";
  • "Vita Zeolite";
  • "Vita Minerals";
  • "Mono Oxi";
  • "Duovit";
  • "Complivit";
  • "Elevit";
  • vitamin and mineral preparations of the German brand “Doppel Herz”.
They effectively influence metabolic processes, remove toxic substances and strengthen the immune system.

Physical activity to speed up metabolism

Muscle fibers weigh more than body fat and require more energy to operate. Intensive training in the gym a couple of times a week for 30-40 minutes speeds up your metabolism per day by an average of 100 calories. This effect continues even on days when there are no workouts.

Running helps a lot, namely alternating speeds. The interval strategy “starts up” the body, helping the cells become saturated with oxygen. The running speed may be slow at first, after 5-10 minutes it is better to accelerate and then switch back to easy running. And so on several times.

Aerobic exercise for 30 minutes every day helps burn calories. You can do it at home, taking short breaks first. After a workout, you usually feel hungry. This is how the body reacts to burning calories, demanding their replenishment. But there is no need to rush to eat.

Instructions

Perhaps the surest way you can regulate your iron levels is by switching to proper nutrition. Eat foods rich in calcium. These are primarily dairy products. Excessive calcium intake interferes with iron absorption. Include rice dishes in your daily diet. Rice cereal perfectly removes excess salts and trace elements from the body, including iron.

Since vitamin C and B vitamins contribute to better absorption of iron, eliminate or limit the joint consumption of foods containing the above vitamins and iron. For example, avoid eating apples or citrus fruits as an accompaniment to meat dishes. Eat foods rich in sugars.

To treat chronic excess iron, its deposits in organs and tissues (siderosis), use drugs from the groups of hepatoprotectors, complexing agents, as well as zinc preparations.

Reduce iron levels with special medications. To speed up the removal of iron from the blood, use a certain heptapeptide. When interacting with drugs to remove iron from the body, the effect of the latter is accelerated by approximately 8 times. But remember that medications can only be used as prescribed by your doctor.

To increase iron levels in the blood, use hirudotherapy. Small leeches, sucking blood, reduce hemoglobin levels.

In addition to the above, to reduce high iron levels in the blood without using medications, use the old proven method - bloodletting (phlebotomy).

Excess iron in the body is no less dangerous than deficiency of this element. An excess of iron is more pronounced in problems with internal organs and other problems of the body.

Internal organs

Excess iron can be congenital, which is given a separate name - hemochromatosis. In this case, iron is deposited in the heart muscle, as well as in some other organs, which leads to lipid peroxidation. In response to the condition, the affected organ, that is, the heart, actively produces connective tissue, which disrupts its structure and normal functioning. The heart is the vital engine of a person, and accordingly, a disruption in its functioning can manifest itself in a variety of heart diseases. There is a dangerous risk of developing coronary heart disease. The harm done to this organ manifests itself in heart rhythm disturbances, headaches, weakness, dizziness, and so on. Also, an excess of iron can lead to sudden cardiac arrest.

It is worth noting that excess iron is more common than in women, but this applies to the period before menopause. Until this point, women experience physiological blood loss, so until a certain time, men are more likely to experience heart problems. However, after the onset of menopause, women, figuratively speaking, “catch up” in this matter and heart problems due to excess iron are almost equally common in both.

However, the heart is not the only organ that suffers from an excess of iron. The liver suffers greatly, which results in symptoms similar to hepatitis. This means that a person will experience an enlarged liver, icteric discoloration of the skin and tongue, and the patient may experience itching.

Excess iron complicates the course of diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, and can also lead to the development of lung, liver and intestinal cancer. Moreover, rheumatoid arthritis often occurs due to too much iron.

It turns out that in large quantities iron has a bad effect on all structures of the body, causing new diseases and worsening the course of old ones. Hemochromatosis, although rare, can lead to even more serious consequences.

Other problems

Although the initial excess of iron may not cause the development or complication of diseases, it can cause discomfort to a person. For example, this causes skin pigmentation, which is especially noticeable in the armpits and palms. A person's appetite decreases, which contributes to weight loss. Nausea, heartburn, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation - all this may indicate that there is too much iron in the human body, which significantly complicates life.

Moreover, an excess of iron can cause hormonal disorders - this can affect not only a person’s appearance, but also his character. By the way, this factor can cause depression, which upsets not only the person himself, but also his relatives.

Hello friends. Well, we probably all try to get the most out of our computers. I want it to work as quickly as possible, websites open faster, programs and games run faster. And we probably all get angry when the page scrolls jerkily, tabs in the browser switch with a delay, and programs open for a couple of minutes.

You will probably say: “Well, you are behind the times, there are no such computers anymore, but on modern ones everything flies.” Maybe, but still we are almost always not satisfied with the speed of our computer and we always want something more. And so I decided to write an article about how to speed up your computer, I have already written a similar article, but in today’s article I would like to talk in more detail about how to overclock a computer, not only using software, but also by overclocking the processor and replacing some components.

Let's start, in my opinion, with the most effective method.

Add RAM - set the speed

This is advice from my own experience. I have seen many times how when adding RAM, the speed of the computer increased significantly. I used to have 512 MB of RAM, I wasn’t very keen on computers back then and it was enough for me, well, it was enough, Windows XP worked, although it didn’t fly. But when I realized that something needed to change, I bought another 1 GB stick of RAM. The increase in speed was very large. Now Windows 7 works well on this computer.

So if you don’t have a lot of RAM on your computer, say 512 MB or 1 GB, then it makes sense to increase it, especially since it is not very expensive. I understand that new computers are probably no longer built with this size of RAM, but there are still many old computers that have the right to a second life. And in this way speed up old computer can be very effective.

Install a new video card and release the integrated one

Another good way to make your computer run faster is to install a new video card. The fact is that old computers, and not very old but budget ones, usually work with an integrated video system. In this case, the graphics processing load falls on the central processor, and this slows down the entire operation of the computer, and you won’t be able to play normal games. Therefore, this problem can be solved by installing a second video card. You can install even an inexpensive one, around 300-400 UAH. (1200 – 1700 rubles)

Overclock the processor

Just take it and overclock it, but be careful :). I was debating whether to write this here or not, but I decided to write it anyway. I have a processor now Intel Celeron, don't laugh :). Its standard frequency is 1600 MHz, but for more than a year now I have had it overclocked by 10 percent, it was 15 percent. Now it operates at a frequency of 1760.0 MHz, here is a screenshot from Everest.

I overclocked it using, or rather increasing the system bus frequency in the BIOS menu. It was not possible to overclock it by more than 15%. After I increased the system bus frequency by several points, the computer simply did not start. I had to reset the BIOS settings, shorted the contacts on the motherboard, and then did not overclock it by more than 15%. There you can do more, but you need to increase the voltage on the processor. But since my computer can be said to be an office one, I didn’t find such an item in the BIOS.

Although it was a long time ago, I need to try again. I may write about this in a separate article, subscribe to. I forgot to mention the gain from overclocking the processor. Well, I didn’t notice a strong increase in the speed of work, but it seems to work faster.

Be careful, or better yet, don't do anything like that. And if you do, it is at your own peril and risk. It is possible to turn the processor into a brick.

Software to help

Don't ignore software that can speed up your computer. Don’t forget about defragmentation, cleaning up debris, etc. I wrote about all this in the article, the link to which is above.
