What is root rights? How to install Root rights on Android - several ways to get them Obtaining root rights to Android

You can get root rights to an android in just a few minutes, especially since, as you know, today a lot of mobile devices based on the Android operating system from such well-known manufacturers as Lenovo, Asus, Acer, LG and so on are supplied to the market. The peculiarity of this OS is that it has an open source code, and therefore the user has the ability to edit system files, folders and install any applications downloaded from the Internet in the .apk format. However, in order to unblock such an opportunity, you need to obtain Root rights or, as they are also called, SuperUser (Superuser).

What is the root of the rights to Android

What are the root rights to android? This term dates back to the days of the first UNIX operating systems, and its main purpose is to obtain all the additional rights to ensure full control over an Android-based device. You can draw a rather simple analogy with Windows OS, where only the user who is logged in as an administrator can get into the system directory and change its data. Android works the same way, that is, after purchasing a smartphone, you only have guest rights, and Root significantly expands them.

Why do you need ROOT rights Andorid - pros and cons

Superuser rights can be extremely useful on absolutely every device, regardless of the version of the Android operating system. The key advantages of Root include:

  1. The ability to customize the outer shell of the OS;
  2. Freeing up device memory by removing software from Google and the manufacturer;
  3. Installing hacked paid applications without ads and with advanced functionality;
  4. Changing files in system directories;
  5. More efficient system optimization by applications that require Superuser rights;
  6. Using tweaks to improve the performance of your smartphone.

Although the minor disadvantages of the root are compensated by the above advantages, they still take place, namely:

  1. Loss of manufacturer's warranty;
  2. Failure of the firmware due to incorrect work with system files and directories;
  3. The inability to update the smartphone via the Internet.

How to get root rights to android 6.0, 5.1, 4.4

Today, many are wondering how to establish root rights on Android, but you need to understand that everything depends on the OS version, because in each of them the system files are different. Now there are quite a few possibilities for obtaining a Superuser, but for example, on Android 4.4 and 6.0, they may differ. In general, it is customary to use only a few methods to install root:

  • Using a computer or laptop;
  • Through dedicated smartphone applications.

It should be noted that earlier on Android 6.0 it was required to install a modified Recovery, but with the release of updates for this it is not necessary either. But still, the easiest and fastest way to get SuperUser rights on devices running Android 5.1+ is to install TWRP (recovery mod), which will automatically root your smartphone if necessary. For almost every device, you can find Recovery on the Internet and installation instructions.

We get the root of the Android rights from the computer

It is quite possible to get Root rights for your mobile today using a personal computer or laptop. In addition, this method is the fastest and easiest to learn, so a beginner can also cope with the task. All you need:

  1. USB cable;
  2. Smartphone with Android 4.4-6.0;
  3. Windows computer or laptop;
  4. Program.

If all of the above is available, then getting the Superuser does not take more than a couple of minutes. First, you need to enable USB debugging mode in the "For Developers" menu, but this section is often hidden and must be activated as follows:

  1. Enter the settings and select the "About phone" menu;
  2. Click on the item "Build number" several times and wait for the inscription "You have become a developer";
  3. Go to this section, find "USB Debugging" and check the box.

All further actions are quite simple and you need:

  1. Connect the switched on smartphone to the computer via a USB cable;
  2. Run the KingRoot program on the PC;
  3. Find a big blue button in the dialog box, click it and wait for the process to complete;
  4. Reboot your device and enjoy Superuser rights.

- Programs for getting root from a PC.

The most promising and convenient program for getting Root using a PC is KingRoot. Despite the fact that it is provided exclusively in Chinese, you can still root your device. Another good alternative is one that is distributed free of charge and is updated quite often by developers.
- a high-quality application for a computer that makes it possible to obtain Superuser rights in a few mouse clicks and works with the latest versions of Android. If we focus not on functionality, but on quality, then one cannot fail to mention about for Windows. This software has been in development for a long time, therefore it has a slightly outdated interface, but better compatibility with a variety of smartphones. For Samsung devices with Android 5.1-6.0, there is a completely new application called, which will install the root with a 100% guarantee using a computer.

How to get root rights to Android without a computer (PC)

If you do not have the opportunity to install the root using a PC, then do not despair, because modern tools and software do it inside the Android OS of any version. For 4.4-6.0, the application is again the best option, however, in this case, you need to download the version for mobile devices with the .apk extension. For this program to be successfully installed on the device, you need to enable the ability to install software from unknown sources, this is done like this:

  1. Go to settings;
  2. We are looking for the "Security" menu;
  3. We put a tick in front of the item "Unknown sources" and reboot the smartphone.

Further steps to obtain Superuser rights through are as follows:

  1. Install on the device and launch the application;
  2. We connect the Internet in any available way (WI-FI, mobile network);
  3. Click the "Try" button in the KingRoot dialog box;
  4. We expect the procedure to be completed to 100% and restart the smartphone.

It should be noted that it is not always possible to install the root the first time, so sometimes it is worth doing the above procedure several times.

- Android applications for obtaining Root rights.

In addition to the mobile version of the KingRoot program, you can use other software that no less effectively installs the root inside the Android OS shell without using third-party gadgets. Despite the fact that the application is available on PC, the developers still pay more attention to the .apk version of their brainchild, so you can use it on your own smartphone without a computer. - This is an alternative to Vroot from the same developers, it helps to unlock the rights on those devices where other programs cannot cope. - quite an effective and modern tool, it is worth resorting to its help if the previous options were not relevant for your device. Baidu Root software from Chinese developers does a good job of getting root on smartphones with Android 4.4, so you can try using that too.

How to check if your phone is rooted

If you have done all the necessary steps, but are still not sure about the presence of Root, then this is easily checked, for example, you can download the application, give it the necessary permissions and check the status of root rights. Or download and install the application under the name of the latest version, then launch it and the screen will display all the information regarding the Superuser. Thanks to the same software, you can easily and quickly give or take away administrative rights from individual applications.

So, how to root the rights to Android is already clear, but sometimes it becomes necessary to remove them, for example, if you want to update the firmware over the air. Here, too, the Root administrator will come in handy - since in its settings there is an item "Delete Superuser / Root". All you need to do is click on this item, wait a little and restart the device. In addition, there is also the option of flashing the smartphone, but this is an extreme measure, relevant only for any system problems. A generally accepted and very useful advice for those who nevertheless decided to make Root on their device - do not get carried away and change any files in the system directory, as this can disable the smartphone and then you will have to change the firmware and make wipes.

Today, most of the market is occupied by devices that run on the Android operating system. Many manufacturing companies, including such as Samsung, LG, Lenovo, etc., are actively introducing this OS into their mobile phones, and that's all because this operating system is open source and ready for any changes. Any user can edit system files, install an application downloaded from the Internet, but in the format of a special installation file with the extension .apk. But in order to view and edit system files, you need to get Root rights, or, as they say in a simple way, superuser rights (SuperUser).

What gives SuperUser or root rights

It is necessary to figure out what these root rights give? Basically, root rights allow you to dive deeper into the smartphone subsystem. They will allow you to access the entire operating system and configure just about anything on your Android device. As root, you can bypass any restrictions that a manufacturer or carrier might have applied. If you are a confident Windows user, you know that in order to change something in the system files, you need to log in as an administrator. In this OS, the work goes the same way: when you buy a smartphone, you become a guest, and after receiving root rights, you become the administrator of the device, which will allow you to make changes to the firmware itself or replace it with a custom one.

Advantages and disadvantages of Root rights on Android

These root rights will be indispensable for developers of programs and games of any version of Android. But the question of obtaining root rights is more worried about ordinary users. The main advantages of Root rights are:

  • New opportunities open up in changing the appearance of the OS;
  • Access to system directories and files;
  • Installing paid programs of pro versions;
  • The ability to hack applications;
  • Optimization of RAM by turning off system applications;
  • Clearing the internal memory of the device, removing the system software from Google and the manufacturer itself;
  • Advanced settings for optimizing smartphone performance;

Despite the large number of positive points, there are still disadvantages that are worth paying attention to:

  1. Automatic loss of warranty;
  2. Possible firmware failures due to improper work with internal directories;
  3. Access to software updates via the Internet is closed;

We get root rights to Android

After considering the pros and cons, users never stop wondering how to root. First of all, determine the Android version of your device, because the ability to get SuperSU on version 7.0 differs from version 5.1. In general, there are two ways to set root rights:

  • Via a computer or laptop;
  • Installing special applications on the device;

Check if your mobile device has Android 6.0 and higher, you need to install a special Recovery from the manufacturer on the phone, although with the release of new versions of KingRoot and SuperSU smartphone programs, this can be omitted if you receive root rights without a computer. In order not to waste a lot of time installing manually, you need to download your own modified recovery, which will quickly give you superuser rights. There are many instructions on the Internet that will help you figure out how to find and install Recovery.

How to get superuser rights from a computer

The easiest way to root your mobile phone is using a PC or laptop. This does not require special knowledge, the main thing is to follow the instructions. So, you need:

  1. Smartphone with Android 4.4.2-6.0 version;
  2. Windows-based computer or laptop;
  3. USB cable;
  4. KingRoot PC application;

If all of the above is available, then you can proceed to establishing SuperSU rights. Often, installation takes no more than ten minutes. First you need to enable USB debugging mode in the smartphone settings. But many manufacturers hide this section and it must be activated in this way:

  1. Open the settings and go to the "About phone" tab;
  2. Click a couple of times on the line with the phone assembly number, after which an inscription should appear that you have become a developer;
  3. Go to the section "For Developers", find the item "Debugging via USB" and check the box next to it;
  1. Connect the switched on phone to the PC using a USB cable;
  2. Run the KingRoot program on your PC;
  3. In the program interface, find the blue button, where, as a rule, it says "Root" and click on it;
  4. Wait for the completion of this process (it lasts at least 10 minutes, in the meantime, the SuperUser application from KingRoot will be installed on the phone)
  5. Reboot your mobile device;

Applications for installing root rights using a computer

The most common and convenient program for setting administrator rights is KingRoot. Usually, it is developed only in Chinese, but its interface is clear. There is a similar alternative to this program - this is Kingo Root. It is completely free, you can download it in English and is constantly updated, but, unfortunately, it does not work with all phone models.

Another interesting PC app is OneClickRoot. This program will allow you to get root rights in one click, and can also work with only released OS versions.

If you don't look at the interface, but at the guaranteed quality, do not forget about the Vroot program for Windows. This program is constantly in development, therefore very few people pay attention to the old design, because the main pressure is made on compatibility with all devices. For individual devices from the manufacturer Samsung, the CF Auto Root program is available, which has more than a hundred smartphone models in its database and will accurately select the superuser rights for each model.

Getting root rights to Android without a computer

It is not always possible to establish root rights through a PC, so the developers went for another trick. More than a dozen programs have already been created for installing root rights inside the Android OS. For versions 4.4 to 6.0.1, the Kingroot program is best suited, but for a smartphone and in .apk format. To install this application you need to have permission to install various software from unknown sources, you can do it like this:

  1. Go to settings;
  2. Find the item "Security";
  3. Check the box “Unknown sources”;
  4. Restart your phone;

To obtain SuperSU rights through the KingRoot program, we take the following steps:

  1. Download the file and run it on your mobile device;
  2. Turn on the Internet (When rooting, it is advisable to use Wi-Fi);
  3. We press the big blue button in the application;
  4. We wait for the end of the procedure and reboot the device;

We warn you that it is not immediately possible to establish the root of the rights, therefore you should repeat the steps several times.

Getting root rights through Android applications

In addition to the well-known KingRoot, you can use other applications that work in a similar way. Although the Kingo Root app is available on a smartphone, manufacturers work more with the program on a PC. RomMaster Su is a mobile program from PC manufacturers of the Vroot program that helps to root devices that are not taken by another application. Apps like 360 \u200b\u200bRoot and Baidu Root have the same effect. The latter is especially good for obtaining administrator rights on Android phones with version 4.4.

How to find out if there is root rights on a smartphone

Are you sure you did the right thing, but you still don't know if you got the root right or not? This can be verified. Download the latest version of the SuperSU app from the Internet. Download and open it. The display should be information, whether you have root rights or not. By the way, in the same program, you can easily give or take away administration privileges to individual applications.

Removing root rights from the phone

We figured out how to get root rights, but do not know how to remove them? It's simple, just open the SuperSU application on your smartphone, go to settings and select the "unroot" option, scrolling through the list to the very end. This will be the easiest removal option.

If your phone is running Android 4.4.2 and below, superuser rights can be disabled by deleting files from the system directory. The most convenient way to do this is to use an explorer application such as ES File Explorer. Just before starting, grant root privileges to the application:

  1. Find the main drive of your device in the "/" section;
  2. Go to the bin directory, then press and hold the busybox and su folders, then delete them;
  3. Now go to the xbin directory and also delete the busybox and su folders;
  4. Remove the supeuser.apk application from the system directory;
  5. Reboot your device.

I think many of you have heard this expression, but not many understand what it is (I'm not talking about how to do it). Now I will help you figure it out.

The article consists of the following sections:

What are root rights and why are they needed at all?

When you buy a new smartphone, you notice a lot of programs on it that, let's say, as they are, you don't need at all. In one of the articles, we analyzed what interferes with your work with the phone. But what happens - if you cannot delete them. At the same time, they also take up space in the memory!
So, root-rights are full access to the system. You can do whatever you want from changing the icon on a system application to removing it.

It is worth knowing that there are three classes of root rights. Full Root- full and permanent rights without any restrictions. Shell Root is a permanent root, but without access to change the system folder (\\ system). Temporary Root- temporary root rights.

In addition, depending on the model of the device and its firmware, it is not always possible to obtain full superuser rights, in turn, a temporary root can always be obtained. For the most part, temporary root rights are granted by most applications that are available on PlayMarket.

Key benefits of full access:

  • the ability to work with system applications;
  • the ability to "endow" any of the applications with full access to the system;
  • unlimited work with the interface: change icons, themes (which can be done not only thanks to launchers), system sounds, a greeting and a picture or animation when turned on;
  • full access to the bootloader, which allows you to change the firmware without difficulty;
  • the ability to install applications directly to a memory card;
  • a backup copy with all applications that are installed on the system at that time;
  • a special system manager that allows you to see and edit previously hidden system files.

One last thing to tell you before moving on to the practical part, this is a warning:

  • you will lose your device warranty;
  • you can damage the operating system if you do something you are not sure about. Therefore: remove, add, change, but only if you are confident in the correctness of your actions.

The main ways to get root access

Naturally, there are special programs to make this easier. I will conventionally divide them into two types:

  • programs on a PC;
  • programs for the android device.

Below I will tell you about the main ones and teach you how to use them. But first, you have to learn how to perform the actions that you need in any of the ways:

  • connect the device in USB debugging mode;
  • allow the installation of applications from unknown sources.

USB debugging mode

The algorithm of actions is quite simple and is similar on devices with any version of Android OS.
1. Go to the settings of your device and select the "Accessibility" section, the "For developers" item.

2. Set the switch to the "on" position next to the item "USB debugging". Confirm your decision.

3. After connecting the device to the PC, you will see a message about enabling debugging in the notification bar.

Permission to install from unknown sources
Enter the settings, in the security section. Set the switch to the “on” position opposite the “Unknown sources” item.

Everything, with the preparation finished, now go directly to root-rights.

Full access via PC software

In this section, I will explain in detail how to root your android device using some PC programs.

Root access with Kingo Android Root

1. Download Kingo Android ROOT program to your PC.

2. Install the program.

One of the screenshots when installing the KingoRoot program

4. Next, launch the Kingo Android ROOT program. Only then connect your device to the PC via USB.

5. When the device is found and all drivers are installed, click "ROOT". The process of hacking the system will begin. When it's done, restart your device.

I hope you understand everything. Let's move on to the next method.

Root access using VROOT program

If you were unable to get root access using the previous program, then most likely your android device is made in China. Therefore, try to do approximately the same using the VROOT program. Below is the instruction.
1. Download the program from the official website to your PC. Yes, it's worth noting that it is in Chinese, so be careful. Click to download the green button as shown in the picture.

2. Now install the program. The installation process is identical to any other, just look at the pictures and follow. Don't forget to check the box to launch the application (last screenshot).

3. Now you need to enable USB debugging mode on your device and allow installing applications from unknown sources.

4. Connect your device via USB cable. And click the "Root" button. Wait for the end of the process of obtaining root access.

These are, in my opinion, the two best programs in this category. Just follow all the steps as described above and you will succeed.

Full access via Android programs

In this section, I'll show you how to root using android programs. All actions will need to be performed directly from your android device.

Root access using the KINGROOT program

(Since the article was written earlier, to date, the application interface has changed somewhat. Below we will describe the old version of obtaining root rights, and in the second part of the article we will describe the utility's capabilities provided to us today. IMPORTANT to note that the process of installing the program and obtaining root rights - did not change).

This is a fairly easy-to-use program, and therefore the most popular.
1. First, download the installation file from the official site directly from your device (it will be easier than from a computer). Click Free Download. Confirm to save the file. The screenshot clearly shows the site's address, and also shows what needs to be done. In the notification bar, you can see the download status.

Note: When downloading the installation file, it is desirable to have a high-speed Internet connection via WiFi.
2. Now you need to install the application. Before doing this, allow installation from unknown sources. Then go to the download directory and click on the appropriate file. Everything is shown in the pictures, be careful.

3. Now install the application by clicking on the "Install" button.

4. Find the Kingroot application shortcut on one of the desktops. Click on it to launch. Immediately, the application will begin to determine the model of your device, and also whether it is already rooted.

5. Now that the definition is over, click on the "TRY TO ROOT" button to get root rights. And wait for the device to reboot, which will inform you that the process of jailbreaking the system is over.

King Root software update

In the updated version of the program, the developers paid tribute to security, namely, built-in protection against malware, optimized boot processes, and improved system capabilities that speed up smartphones. After completing the previously described steps, the user will see the following download window:

So, in the right corner there will be information about the status of your root rights. At the bottom of this function, a field is available that allows you to track the authorization of a number of applications installed on the smartphone and control their access to the system catalog.

The start window looks like this:

By clicking the "Security" button, KingRoot will optimize all processes and display a report:

Root access using OneClickRoot program

Unfortunately, this program no longer works for free (a couple of years have passed since the article was written). At the office. site only paid version for $ 30.

This program is much lighter than the previous one and, moreover, immediately after scanning, it tells you whether it can open root access on your device.

  1. I won't go into details on how to download and install the application. It is necessary to perform all actions in the same way as in the above case. Everything (including the official website) can be seen in the pictures. Just follow the instructions.

2. After opening the application, you will be immediately prompted to get root. So click on "Root Device". Then scan your device to see if the program can open root access to its system. If not, you will see a message like in the third screenshot. You can click on "Notify Me" if you want to be informed about when the program can help you.

3. If it is still possible to give you root rights, you will see a screen like this. Click "Root Device".

Root ToolCase - get root capabilities with one click

This is a universal application that allows you to configure and manage your smartphone without any restrictions, remove unnecessary utilities, and much more without root rights. After installing the program from PlayMarket, we will see the following window:

IMPORTANT, this program does not root the device, but provides a number of system capabilities that are not available without installing it (information from the developers in the image below).

The start window of the application invites us to choose the one we need, namely:

The user can customize the smart startup process, access safe mode if problems arise, and also reset to factory settings by pressing just one key.

  1. App Manager

Allows you to edit installed applications (including system ones) and even remove malware that is not available for removal using built-in protection systems.

  1. Additional system settings.

Ability to work in the ADB development environment using wireless networks, mounting partitions, changing the language, etc.In the Build.prop Editor, you can change the properties of the ROM. An installer function for flash devices is available, which makes it possible to customize almost any functionality on the phone, thereby making it completely individual.

Toverloop

A kind of "veteran rue". A well-known application that works on almost all devices with old Android firmware (up to version 5 inclusive). Despite this, it is very popular, since the rooting process is possible in one click. The list of devices available for upgrade is available on the application website.

Rooting Android 7 and up

Traditional methods of obtaining superuser rights on new types of devices do not always give a positive result. Installing the application will only allow you to control some functions of the smartphone, but not become a super su.

We will provide a quick guide for OS version 7 and higher.

  1. Be sure to unlock the Bootloader (bootloader) on your smartphone. This procedure will be slightly different depending on the model and firmware.
  2. Go to "developer mode" (again, depending on the model, this menu item may be in different places) and enable "USB debugging".
  3. Download development environment - Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
  4. On a specialized site, we find the custom firmware we need for your smartphone, usually TWRP.

5. After flashing, our initial TWRP window is loaded, select the Recovery Mode item using the sound adjustment keys, confirm the selection by pressing the power button pointwise.

Brief summary

A little higher, I told you in great detail how to get root access to the system of your android device, as well as what this root access is all about.

I have provided you with detailed instructions on how to operate the most popular effective software. But be aware that there are other programs as well. Try it, if it doesn't work with one, it will work with the other. Good luck!

Devices. But, most of these methods work on a very limited number of devices, which creates a lot of inconvenience, especially for inexperienced users.

In this article, we will demonstrate how to make ROOT rights on an Android device using the VROOT program, one of the simplest and most versatile programs for obtaining ROOT rights.

Step # 1. Download the latest version of the VROOT program to your computer.

The first thing to do is download the VROOT program to your computer. To do this, go to the official website of this program () and click on the "Download" button.

Step number 2. Install the VROOT program on your computer.

Next, you need to install the downloaded program. To do this, run the downloaded EXE file and follow the instructions of the installer. If after installation, antivirus warnings about viruses appear, then the antivirus must be disabled. The process of obtaining root rights is hacking an Android device, so you shouldn't be surprised that some antiviruses can detect this program as malicious.

Step # 3. Set up your Android device.

In order to root your Android device using VROOT, you need to make some changes to the settings. First, you need to enable Developer Mode and USB Debugging. To do this, go to the settings and find the "Device Information" section there. In this section, you need to click on the Android build number several times in a row. This way you can enable Developer Mode.

After "Developer mode" is enabled, return to the main settings menu and find the "Developer options" section there (in some cases this section may be called differently, for example "For a developer").

After enabling debugging, you must enable the "Unknown Sources" function. To do this, go back to the settings menu and go to the "Security" section. Here you need to find the function "Unknown sources", which allows the installation of applications from sources other than the Google Play Market.

Step # 4. Connect the Android device and proceed to getting root rights.

Now that the VROOT program is installed, and your Android device is configured properly, you can proceed directly to obtaining root rights. To do this, launch the VROOT program and connect your Android device using a USB cable.

After connecting the Android device, the VROOT program will start connecting it.

If necessary, the VROOT program will download and start installing drivers for your device. If the screen prompts you to confirm the installation of the drivers, then click on the "Yes" button.

After that, install the driver using the installer that appears.

If the device is connected successfully, then a green ROOT button will appear in the VROOT program. Click on it and wait for the program to root your Android device.

After the root rights are obtained, a corresponding message will appear on the screen.

After that, the phone should go to reboot, after which you can use it.

Step number 5. We use ROOT rights.

The first time you launch applications that require you, you will receive this warning in Chinese.

In order to allow the application to use root rights, you need to click on the right button (this is the "Confirm" button).

How to check for ROOT rights

After you have done ROOT rights on your Android device, you may want to. To do this, you need to download a special application to check the root rights. For example, you can use free. Download this application, run it on your device and click on the "Check ROOT" button.

If your Android device is rooted, you will see this congratulatory message.

If the root is not right, then the message will be like this.

There is also one that allows you to get additional information about your system and root rights.

By default, the Android operating system has built-in protections against rash user actions that could damage the normal operation of the device. Such a security mechanism blocks the installation of unwanted software, restricts access to system files, and introduces a ban on changing a number of settings. For the average user who is not technically savvy, such barriers are only beneficial and, in principle, do not interfere with the normal use of the gadget. But what to do if you want to get full access to the system's functionality and experiment with all, even hidden, settings. For this, the so-called root rights, or Superuser rights, are intended.

Why do you need root rights?

So, what are the specific additional features rooted in Android? Let's list the main ones:

  • Editing any system files;
  • Removing standard applications;
  • Removal of garbage and unnecessary files previously protected from deletion;
  • Installing applications on a memory card;
  • Installing modified firmware and mods;
  • Unlimited interface changes (themes, screensavers, icons, fonts);
  • Providing applications with full access to the system;
  • Extended backup;
  • Optimizing the operation and increasing the performance of the device

Along with the pros, there are also cons. These include a possible denial of warranty service and the risk of device failure due to a violation of the integrity of system files.

If you have weighed all the pros and cons, and you definitely want to get root-rights on Android, then feel free to go to the instructions below.

Ways to obtain Superuser rights

There are many models of smartphones and tablets on the market today, each of which may have its own specific features that affect the rooting procedure. However, in most cases, the expansion of powers is carried out in the same way. Moreover, for Android of any versions (4.4, 5.1, 6.0, 7.0, etc.), the sequence of actions for obtaining root rights is almost the same.

There are two main options for "endowing" Android devices with special rights:

  • Do it through a computer:
  • Carry out the procedure autonomously without using a PC.

We'll cover both methods with specific examples and programs. But before using one of the proposed algorithms, you need to check the current user permissions on your phone / tablet. Perhaps, full access to the functions of Android is already open.

Checking for extended rights

You can find out if a specific mobile device has Superuser rights using the application RootChecker... We install it from the Play Market store, and then launch it.

To start checking, press the "Check Root" button.

If the necessary rights are not found, a red message will appear, if they have already been granted, then a green one.

In the absence of powers, we proceed to direct actions to acquire them.

Getting root rights through a computer

This technique includes the following standard steps:

  1. Downloading and installing a special application on a PC;
  2. Launching the program;
  3. Connecting to a computer via the USB port of a device running Android;
  4. Enabling USB debugging mode on the device;
  5. Establishing a connection between the application on the computer and the phone / tablet;
  6. Directly start rooting (usually by pressing just one button in the program window).

This sequence will be relevant for almost any program, of course, with certain amendments. Which of the applications to use is up to you, we only give a list of the most common:

  • Kingo Android Root;
  • SuperOneClick;
  • VRoot;
  • MTKdroidTools.

As an example, let's try to get root rights using Kingo Android Root.

Kingo Android Root

Download the program on the official website www.kingoapp.com, and then install it on your computer.

If the application is blocked by antivirus, which is often the case with similar software, then the protection will have to be disabled during the procedure.

Launch Kingo Android Root.

Now we connect the device with Android to the PC via a USB cable and immediately set the MTP data exchange mode in the settings (transfer and manage files to the PC).

Kingo Android Root app will start connecting to your phone and ask you to enable USB debugging mode.

To do this, you need to go to the Android settings, and then go to the "Developer Options" section.

If there is no such item, then go to the "About phone" page and click the "Build Number" line seven times.

The "For Developers" section should now appear. We go into it and enable the "Debugging via USB" option. A window will appear in which we put a checkmark "Always allow debugging from this computer" and click "OK".

The drivers will be installed, after which the “ROOT” button will appear in the Kingo Android Root program window on the computer.

We click on it, wait for the end of the procedure and reboot the mobile device. If everything went well, you will have extended rights.

How to get root access without a computer

This method does not require a PC, and all actions are performed exclusively in the interface of the Android device. True, you can't do without third-party programs here either. Let's indicate the most popular:

  • KingRoot;
  • OneClickRoot;
  • Framaroot;
  • iRoot

If these apps don't work for you, you can find others on the internet. Interaction with any of them will follow approximately the same scenario:

  1. An apk file is downloaded from the official website directly to the phone;
  2. The program is installed from it (the option "Allow installation of applications from unknown sources" is activated beforehand);
  3. After starting the program, the device model is determined (or manual selection) and its rooting.

Let's look at the step-by-step process of obtaining root-rights on Android using the KingRoot application.

KingRoot

Download the installation apk file from the official website kingroot.net.

Now we find the saved file in the list of recent downloads in the File Manager or any File Manager.

We initiate the installation.

After completing the installation, launch the program. In our version of the application, to start rooting, you had to go to the "Advanced rights" page and click the "Get root" button.

In other editions, the interface may be slightly different. We are waiting for the completion of the procedure.

Outcome

As we can see, it is not difficult to install Superuser rights (they are also root rights) on Android without using a computer or with its help. To do this, it is enough to select the necessary software. The only catch is that the selected utility will not support your specific device model. In this situation, you should try another program or use the manufacturer's proprietary application (if available).

If all else fails and root access to Android is still closed for you, you will have to carefully study the information on specialized forums in the branches dedicated to your model. And, of course, to identify problems that prevent you from obtaining elevated rights, you should definitely pay attention to the text of warning messages and errors that usually accompany the occurrence of various kinds of problems.
