This standard applies to beans procured and supplied for food purposes.

Mandatory requirements for the quality of beans, aimed at ensuring their safety for the life and health of the population, are set out in paragraphs 2.2, table 3; 2.3, table 4; 2.4, table 5 (indicators: pebbles, slag, ore, pest infestation), 2.5а.

The terms used in the standard and their definitions are in accordance with GOST 27186.

1. TYPES

1.1. Depending on the color and shape, food beans are divided into types and subtypes indicated in Table 1.

1.2. Beans containing an admixture of beans of a different type or subtype more than the norms indicated in Table 1 are defined, respectively, as a "mixture of types" or "a mixture of subtypes" indicating the typical and subtype composition in percent.

Bean seeds that have small deviations from the main characteristic of the type are considered atypical, for example, white beans with a color pattern near the hilum.
