This can be done with the help of various video editors, such as Sony Vegas, Movie Maker, Adobe Premier, etc. But is it worth, because of this generally banal operation, to install additional software on your computer, which, by the way, is not free at all. 2. The program does not require installation, but later on downloading it should be extracted from the archive, on the contrary, you will not be able to run it. Unzip the file by placing the program in a folder on your computer's hard drive, and then launch it.

3. From the File menu, select the Open command and add a video file from which you want to remove obscene paths.

4. In the Vide menu, check the box next to Direct Stream Copy so as not to introduce metamorphosis into the video stream.

5. Open the Streams menu and select the Stream List command. Select obscene sound paths and click the Disable button. Thus, you will exclude these paths from the file.

6. It remains only to write the newest file with the changes made. To do this, select the Save as command from the File menu, specify the folder in which you want to save the total, and click OK.

3. If the video file is in mkv format, then Virtual Dub will not always be able to cope with it. Then the MKV Toolnix package comes to the rescue, which includes the mkvmerge GUI program. It admirably and swiftly copes with the removal of obscene paths from the selected file. After loading the file ("File" - "Open") the program displays a list of all the video parameters. 5. In case you have several audio tracks, one of which contains genuine sound, you can navigate between them while playing the video file. They eat a lot of disk space, tens of terabytes ... But the SVINOFORCE team has huge disk arrays: in total we have 3 external and 18 internalhigh-speed HDDs with a total nominal capacity of 5500 + 21440 \u003d 26940 GB. The real volume is then: 26940 * (10 ^ 9/1024 ^ 3) \u003d 25090 GB or 24.5 Terabytes. With the new Pig Breeder calculator, we did all the calculations without difficulty.
But rather empty chatter and bragging. Perhaps someone will ask, why are you not enough of such huge volumes that you also need to cut out extra tracks from films? Well, of course, if we didn't save space on disks (which I must say are already packed to capacity), then we would have nowhere to store images of games with Starforce. And even if you accuse us of piracy, then I can say that SVINOFORCE even if would like to buy licensed games - they are simply not available for sale. they are 5-6 years ago and I must say with a smell. But let's get back to our question, because already demagoguery is more than enough.

We see a screenshot of the John Carter movie in MKV format, and here is just a list of audio tracks. It is most advisable to cut an English track in DTS-HD Master Audio format here, for the following reasons:
1. None of us can understand English by ear
2. The track is very weighty and takes at least 1-2 gigabytes
3. We do not have the necessary audio equipment (an expensive receiver) to reproduce sound in the DTS HD Master format (this is kind of the coolest thing in nature now).
We only have cheap Chinese speakers with AC3 (Dolby Digital) and DTS (Digital Theater Systems) digital sound that Pigman snatched last year at a computer store sale.
We look at the file size before our manipulations:

So we make a decision - to delete. Sister, scalpel! And what are we going to cut? There is a special program for this: MKVtoolnix, which includes MKVmerge:


Everything is extremely simple: uncheck the desired audio track, select the name of the output file (I will save directly to the external screw, so as not to torment the magnetic read-write heads once again) and go to drink tea with cookies.


Half an hour later, the program reported successful completion. Let's look at the file obtained after truncation:

It can be seen that we saved 5 gigabytes of disk space. It's a lot or a little, everyone will decide for himself. In general, MKVs rarely need rebuilding (or castration, which is basically the same thing) - remixes already always contain what they need, and the trash is cut out.
Another thing is the original Bluray, namely the folders with their films (we copied them from the original disc or from the torrent, it doesn't matter). This is not the case.
The structure of the Blues is quite complex, and we really don't know what many folders are for. And we don't need to know. For example, let's choose a victim: the folder with the movie The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian. The size of the folder is huge:

We are interested in the BDMV folder, this is where the media content files are stored. And everything else is obviously used to protect the Bluray disc from copying and prevent the playback of the movie copied to the HDD in players such as Cyberlink PowerDVD, ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater and so on. Inside the BDMV folder there are a bunch of subdirectories:

CLIPINF

Here again, all sorts of service files for the operation of the menu, etc. We need the STREAM folder, go there and look for the largest file:

Bluray has such a feature that the main file with the movie does not have a permanent name, but in each disc it can have any number. Here it is 00034, but it could be 00000, or 00125 for example. Looking ahead, I will say that SVINOFORCE specialists have already written a special a macro program in VBA for Microsoft Excel, which allows you to find these same movie files among the folders with Bluray, and all this is summarized in a table for printing.
We launch it and see that this is exactly the movie itself:


We will cut 5 audio tracks here at once, leaving only one Russian. And at the same time we'll see how this affects the file size - it should decrease by about 1.5 times.
This time MKVtoolnix won't help us anymore, it can save only in MKV format. Of course, it would be wise to do so, because apart from the movie itself, Blurey contains a lot of garbage, advertisements, unnecessary bonuses - all this consumes precious disk space. , we also made sure that after deleting the audio tracks, the resulting Bluray is played in the ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater player without sound - apparently it needs to be completely rebuilt. But now what to do, we decided to cut - so we will cut. And we will cut with the tsMuxer program:


The interface is similar to MKVmerge GUI, but the programs are completely different and they have a different developer. Cut out unnecessary tracks, at the same time remove subtitles in all languages \u200b\u200bat once except English, Russian and Ukrainian (if any). Then again select the external HDD as a place for the new file , you also need to press M2TS Muxing (otherwise we will probably get a TS file instead of M2TS, how they differ, I honestly don't know). We start the process and you can smoke for another half hour:


We are in no hurry, especially today is Christmas night. At the same time, while the file is being processed, I hasten to congratulate the reversers on this holiday, although there seems to be no Orthodox among our team. And in general we are opponents of religion, but this blog is not about that.
So, while I ate 2 apples, an orange and drank a glass of cold Cola, finally our file was processed successfully. Let's look at its size:

We saved 10 gigabytes and the file size was reduced by exactly 1.5 times.
The more films we cut in this way, the more space will be freed up. The main thing is not to overdo it. When we clear up the debris with Starforce a little, and finally write at least half of the manuals, there may be an article on how to convert an audio track from DTS HD MA format to AC3. and sew it all back into the video file.
