Smartwatches are considered by many to be a passing fad that will not gain a foothold in the technology market. Even those who believe in them more are in no hurry to buy watches themselves. Weak autonomy is often to blame for this. Can a new Samsung Galaxy Watch solve old problems?

Samsung has combined the design and durability of the Gear S3 and Gear Sport in the new model. The company tries to attract the largest possible audience of buyers. To this end, she offers watches in two sizes and three colors.

Galaxy Watch brings new possibilities in terms of health, fitness and other categories thanks to the Tizen 4.0 system. There are versions with support for the LTE communication standard and a new HRM operating mode. For the first time ever, Samsung's Bixby virtual assistant will appear on the wrist. True, it is not yet very popular on smartphones either.

Is all this enough to make the Galaxy Watch an attractive purchase option?

To reach a wider audience, Samsung has removed its Android addiction and released the Gear and Health apps. How much will you lose if you don't have a Samsung smartphone or any Android smartphone at all?

To clarify this issue, reviewers used the iPhone and a silver version of the 46mm Galaxy Watch for a week.

Contents of delivery

The package included a dock that says Gear S4. Most likely, this is how Samsung wanted to keep the official name of the watch a secret until its announcement.

The kit includes the watch itself, a charging station, a charging adapter and a setup guide.

Whether it's 46mm or 42mm, each has two strap sizes. The default silicone strap is great for fitness and activity. The silicone straps are different from those found on the Samsung Gear. There are grooves that run parallel to the strap rather than diagonally.

The docking station enables wireless charging of the watch by attaching it to itself with magnets in landscape orientation. So the clock can be conveniently located on your bedside table and you will see the time at any time. The charge LED is too bright and can be annoying at night.

Unfortunately, the dock uses an outdated microUSB connector. During the announcement, Samsung also introduced the Wireless Charger Duo. It can charge both watch and Samsung smartphone at the same time. In addition, the Wireless Charger Pad 2018 was recently introduced, also capable of charging the Galaxy Watch.

Design

As mentioned, there are two watch sizes. One of them is suitable for men, the other for women.

The body is coated with corrosion-resistant 316L steel and polished to a high gloss. There is 5 ATM / IP68 water resistance and MIL-STD-810G rating.

A Super AMOLED touchscreen with Gorilla Glass DX + is used. This glass will protect your watch from scratches. A rotating frame is responsible for navigation, which eliminates the need to press the screen with your fingers, get it dirty and close the view.

Two buttons perform the Home and Back actions. They are made of the same stainless steel with a relief for improved grip.

The appearance resembles the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier watch. However, the frame teeth are smaller and more. The result is a smoother and more sophisticated look.

The silver 46 mm model has a black bezel. The result is a two-tone finish. There is also a 42mm model with a less contrasting appearance.

It is difficult to pinpoint the exact material of which the frame is made. It seems to be some kind of composite. This reduces its weight and allows it to match the color of the main body.

On the back of the watch, you will see the HRM heart rate sensor inside the black cover.

Control and navigation

Nothing has changed in the interaction with the Galaxy Watch from previous Samsung watches. It uses a rotating bezel, touchscreen, and physical Home and Back buttons. There is also a voice assistant Bixby.

Previous Samsung Gear watches run on the Tizen 3 operating system and have one weird quirk about them. When the timeout expires and the clock goes out, the dial opens the next time you wake up. It is annoying when you are doing something and you are interrupted. Increasing the time before the clock turns off solves this problem, but consumes energy faster.

Galaxy Watch runs on Tizen 4.0 and there is no such problem here. New setting Show last app allows you to determine how long the application remains available for activation after the screen timeout.

The combination of a touchscreen, rotating bezel and Tizen 4.0 user interface makes the watch enjoyable.

Hardware components

Both sizes of the Galaxy Watch have a Samsung Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 360. The 46 mm version has a 1.3-inch screen with a pixel density of 282 ppi. The 42mm version received a 1.2-inch screen with a higher pixel density of 302 ppi.

Screen quality and color accuracy are traditionally high for Samsung. Content looks great and the ambient light sensor automatically adjusts brightness.

Different sizes of watches have different batteries, 472 mAh and 270 mAh. Samsung promises 7 days of battery life on the 46mm model and up to 4 days on the 42mm model under low load.

In all cases, a Samsung Exynos 3110 processor with two processing cores and a clock frequency of 1.15 GHz is used. A more efficient 10nm chip was developed specifically for smartwatches. It provides a longer runtime compared to the Exynos 7270 14nm in the Gear S3 and Gear Sport watches.

The new processor does its job well. Navigating the interface is fast and fluid. No speed deceleration was observed.

Unfortunately, there is only 4GB of storage, which is needed for applications and multimedia files. After installing the Spotify app, transferring 52MB of music, and taking a few screenshots, only 1.43GB is left. Users with a large number of applications and files may experience problems.

768 MB of RAM is enough. The version with the LTE communication standard offers 1.5 GB. This can improve performance, although it is not noticeable by eye.

In addition to the new heart rate sensor, the Galaxy Watch's fitness capabilities are enhanced with an accelerometer, barometer, and gyroscope.

Among the communication standards there is Bluetooth 4.2, through which you can connect the watch to a smartphone and wireless headphones. There is support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n 2.4 GHz for connecting to wireless networks. There is 3G and 4G with built-in eSIM, which allows you to do without a smartphone.

Thanks to the NFC communication standard, the Samsung Pay payment system works. Samsung has ditched the MST standard with emulated credit cards, where security is only provided by a magnetic stripe. If you do not have a smartphone with Samsung Pay support, then you cannot use this payment system.

GPS / GLONASS is responsible for tracking the location.

Updated HRM sensor

Samsung hasn't said anything separately about the HRM sensor, but a new module is used here. Almost all smartwatches monitor heart rate using Photoplethysmography. Blood is red because it reflects red light and absorbs green light. By using green LEDs along with photodiodes to measure the amount of light absorbed, smartwatches are able to determine the volume of blood flowing through the wrist.

The new sensor contains one green LED with four photodiodes. The Galaxy S3 and Gear Sport use two green LEDs and one photodiode. In comparison, the Garmin Fenix \u200b\u200b5 has three green LEDs with one large photodiode. Apple Watch uses two green LEDs and one photodiode.

The Galaxy Watch watches your heart all day. You can set continuous monitoring (which consumes a lot of energy), every 10 minutes, or turn it off.

The sensor is located on the back of the housing and protrudes 1 mm beyond its limits. This provides improved hand contact and improved accuracy.

Autonomy

Working hours thanks to 472mAh battery on 46mm version. This is the largest battery of any Samsung watch. The 42 mm model received a 270 mAh battery.

The duration of the work was considered over the weekend. Bixby voice commands were active. The automatic settings of the HRM module and the constant automatic stress measurement were exposed. This increases energy consumption.

Wi-Fi networks at home and at work were added, the settings were set to automatic. Screen brightness was 50%, auto dimming on, screen timeout 15 seconds, standard Frontier dial, default power management.

On 100% charge, the estimated runtime was 2 days 13 hours 32 minutes. Activating the power saving mode gave a forecast of 7 days 3 hours 6 minutes. In this case, the home screen is displayed in gray, everything is turned off except for calls, messages, notifications. This includes turning off the Wi-Fi network and limiting performance. Mode Watch only showed an estimate of the duration of work 41 days 21 hours 15 minutes.

When the battery level was 11%, reviewers turned on power saving mode. He provided an additional 12 hours of work.

Even if it was not the most accurate measurement, the watch worked for 4 days 5 hours 30 minutes. At the same time, heart rate and stress indicators were recorded around the clock.

Connecting to a docking station allowed the watch to be charged 100% in 2 hours 51 minutes. Qi wireless charging standard is supported. Regardless, charging only happens with the Samsung Dock and the new Samsung Wireless Charger Duo. Probably the reason is the shape of the back of the watch. Thus, extraneous charging trays will not work.

It can be estimated that a 42 mm model with the same load will work for about 2 days 4 hours.

Playing music through the Samsung Music app for an hour with local file storage and through the Dr Dre BeatX headphones used 8% of the charge. An hour of GPS work used up 4%.

operating system

Rumors said the Google Wear OS system could be used here. This has not happened and Samsung continues to favor its Tizen platform. In this case, version 4.0 is installed.

We will not cover the entire operating system, there are separate reviews for this. Let's talk about what's new here.

Watch dials... The default dial has become even more reminiscent of a real clock. Traditional 3D effects are complemented by a gyroscope to display lighting effects in real time. They change when you move your wrist. If you hold the watch to your ear, you can even hear the clock ticking. Of course, this is not very important, but it gives a sense of realism.

Good night mode. It exists so that nothing will interfere with your sleep. When active, all notifications are muted, except for the alarm and system sounds. The function of continuous watch operation and the wake-up gesture are disabled. The battery life is increased.

You can add this mode to quick settings. However, you will need to remember to turn it on and off manually. I wish it would activate automatically based on a schedule or when it detects that you've fallen asleep.

Daily help... Only available on Android. This is Samsung's answer to having Apple's Siri assistant on the Apple Watch. In the morning, the watch will give you a quick overview of the weather, your schedule for the day and reminders. Before going to bed, you will receive another overview that will contain the remaining reminders and health information.

Dial of the day... Displays a summary of your schedule for the next 12 hours, with the next appointment on the calendar highlighted. If you tap an appointment on the watch face, more information appears. Rotating the frame allows you to navigate between different appointments. Touching the pop-ups will show all the information regarding the meeting, including the notes you made. Works great with iOS platform.

Reading notifications aloud... Text-to-speech technology allows you to hear notifications through Bluetooth headphones. This can be useful when doing exercises, running, driving a car.

Bixby... Activation occurs by double clicking on the Home button. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection is required, otherwise the assistant will not work. The LTE version of the watch works with an assistant without a smartphone.

When connecting the watch to an iPhone, even with a network connection, there are often errors. The server may not be fully operational. When connected to a Samsung Galaxy S9 +, Bixby behaves as expected. The assistant is able to start certain exercises and respond to basic requests. On a Galaxy Watch without LTE, there was a one-second lag in the assistant. If you don't need an assistant, double-clicking the Home button can be assigned to another function.

Show the latest app... In Settings\u003e Display, this option allows you to define how long the last used application will be displayed when the screen is reactivated after shutdown due to a timeout.

The disadvantage of the Tizen system is not itself. Support from third-party app developers is not as extensive as on the Apple Watch. Thus, before purchasing, you should check if the applications you need exist.

Health and fitness

Last year's Gear Sport was not the best fit for fitness. There are more specialized applications for this.

The introduction of the HRM module has improved the situation a little. Samsung worked with the University of California to improve software and algorithms for processing heart rate fluctuations and results. This can be useful in the long term when analyzing medical information. Sleep apnea, atrial fibrillation and hypertension analyzes can be performed.

Everyday activity and health

The watch can track steps taken, floors, sleep and calorie consumption. In terms of accuracy, readings are never identical across devices. In this case, the accuracy is quite high. The Galaxy Watch's 46mm battery life makes it ideal for tracking sleep quality. Since you don’t need to recharge the watch every night, it can remain on your wrist. Four stages of sleep are recorded: deep, light, REM and awakening.

There is a new monitoring of stress. You can force the watch to measure stress all the time, or set a specific time. When your watch has gathered basic stress information, it will begin suggesting breathing exercises for you. You can choose the exercises you want to relax at any time convenient for you.

Unfortunately, this information is not transferred to the Samsung Health app on the iPhone. You need to track history right on the watch.

There were no problems with round-the-clock collection of heart rate information both during the day and at night.

Sports and fitness

The Galaxy Watch can automatically recognize 6 activities when you exercise for at least 10 minutes. These are walking, running, cycling, and a number of other activities. All possibilities of automatic recognition are shown in the table.

If you select strength training, an animation is shown showing how to do the exercises correctly. This can be useful for beginners, but in practice it gets boring quickly.

Each exercise is recorded individually and quickly fills the Samsung Health app bar. The structuring of the individual exercises is poor.

But you can easily move from one exercise to another without having to go back and start a new activity. If you click Complete in the current lesson, you just need to click on the next lesson and select the type of activity.

I would like to be able to combine different activity options in one place. Before starting the exercise, you can choose a goal. True, the goals are limited. For example, distance only works when using GPS. When walking, the goal is only to burn calories.

During exercise, the screen can be customized to show the information you want.

Use with iPhone

Galaxy Watch app

On iPhone, this app shows battery charge, storage and RAM. You can change many settings yourself. There is also a method for finding and installing watch faces and apps.

The program turned out to be stable and constant in work. However, there are missing aspects here:

  • Unable to reply to text messages
  • Unable to set up Samsung Pay
  • Transferring music through the browser is complex
  • You cannot transfer screenshots to your smartphone
  • Can't customize SOS message
  • Reminders are not syncing with iPhone
  • Most notifications are shown, but you can only look at them or dismiss them. Missing email notification
  • No Wi-Fi sync to iPhone, need to add manually
  • The Find My Phone app is useless if the watch is in silent mode somewhere behind the sofa. Instead, it's better to use the Find my iPhone program. Then the clock will vibrate and a sound will be heard to help you find it.
  • Samsung SmartThings setting not supported

Samsung Health app

Significantly inferior to programs like Fitbit, Garmin and Apple. It will take longer to learn how to work with this application.

  • There are no links to the Apple Health app and other programs like My Fitness Pal. On Android, there are no such problems and data is synchronized
  • There is no stress tracking in the app, only on the watch itself. Android has no such problems
  • There are no fitness programs like on Android
  • Certain physical activities do not fully transfer data to Samsung Health

Conclusion

For all the downsides, this is the best smartwatch in Samsung history. They develop the already good Gear S3 and Gear Sport. The new model is not revolutionary, but the sum of the hardware and software changes makes for a great device.

The watch is beautiful, durable and with an excellent screen. In addition, the large model has excellent battery life. The fitness and health options are more extensive than most users need.

IPhone owners need to make sure they are not intimidated by existing restrictions. The rest of the Galaxy Watch can be safely recommended for purchase. The only obstacle can be the appearance of the Apple Watch Series 4. For iPhone owners, this is a more obvious choice. That said, the Galaxy's battery life is better.

The Samsung Gear Live smartwatch debuted at Google I / O for the first time with the launch of the new Android Wear platform for wearable devices. However, those few who got their hands on the Gear Live smartwatch even before they appeared on the market may already be faced with cases of poor quality components - this concerns the watch's charging mechanism, which is too fragile and will probably break over time.

Gear Live is essentially a Gear 2 smartwatch, but without a Home button and without a camera, therefore, this model has a similar charging mechanism - you need to insert the watch into a special charging base, then plug the charging cable into a USB port. However, the Gear Live has a slot (next to the power button) for power connections, which is extremely easy to damage or even rip out. You can see for yourself the problem one of the owners of Gear Live faced. Even Samsung is unable to help with anything, since the watch was not officially on sale at that time.

Naturally, the assumption immediately arises that the problem may concern only those units of smart watches that were presented for the presentation, and the final copies that will be sold will already be of higher quality. Moreover, with Gear 2, such problems did not arise at all. Hopefully Samsung will have time to fix the situation, unless it’s a problem of poor design and design.

So far Samsung has not officially commented on such cases, which, we hope, will remain isolated. Samsung is a company that keeps strict records on the quality of its products, so it would be surprising that one of the important products, like a smartwatch, faced such a big problem.

I bought by pre-order in early December 2016. The watch has served me faithfully for almost 2 years. I have not had any complaints or complaints and still have not. Unless the battery has become less capacious. For two days with my work schedule, it was no longer enough.

“It's time to change,” I decided and pre-ordered two copies of the Gear Watch (42 mm “Rose Gold” - the female version and 46 mm - for myself, my beloved). How I got this whole thing - I will not tell, there is still not enough evil. Samsung branded retail messed up the full program. But all bad things come to an end, and now the watch is in my hands. More precisely, on the hand. What is said in this text is my personal impression, which is based on my own feelings and scenarios of use.

So let's go.

Design

I don't see any sense in talking about filling the box. Incendiary videos about opening the packaging are easily found on Youtube. I will touch on some elements of the watch design. As always, it's best to start good. The female version of the watch is not just successful, it is ideal for the beautiful half of humanity. It looks solid on the hand, at the same time it does not look as massive as the 46 mm version.

The silicone straps on the Galaxy Watch are slightly softer than those of the Gear S3 generation, so they feel great on the wrist. But still, in my opinion, such watches need leather or steel, and even better ceramics. Silicone is visible from afar, and it will not work to hide it with any imitation of texture. Watches with a silicone strap lose 20 percent in design.

By the way, you shouldn't think that you need to look for some special dials for women's watches so that they look harmonious. Surprisingly, the vast majority of works from the Samsung store (both paid and free) look harmoniously in a rose gold case. Even with a multi-colored background.

But the stock pink dial from Samsung seemed to me too doll-like and unsuitable for this design. But it has an advantage - the second hand in Always-On mode.

Now about the not very pleasant. The design of the large version (46 mm) still raises a lot of questions. Why, for example, the bezel turned out to be black, and not silver, like the entire watch case? My guess is that Samsung's designers got this idea from the automakers. And they wanted to do something similar to this:

But it reminds me of this result:

The black bezel is clearly a design mistake on the Galaxy Watch.

Now about the bezel itself. Here are two photos of its faces from S3 and GW.

Gear S3

Galaxy Watch

Notice how often the ring is notched? Thanks to this notch, the fingers do not feel grip on the metal when they touch the edge of the bezel, which is very bad. Feeling like touching the blade of this kitchen knife:

When you turn the ring, the S3 has a smooth, precise, and most importantly, silent move. In GW, the bezel has been sharpened, and it clangs loudly and disgustingly with every turn. Something like the rattling of the suspension in a car - these are the associations.

Otherwise, everything is fine - exactly like the previous S3 model. Case polish is excellent! True, I was tortured to remove films from all its parts.

Screen

I don't have deep knowledge of Samsung AMOLED screens. But I read more than once that the screen in the new watch is brighter and more contrasting. In my opinion, they are exactly the same in both watches. When I put my old S3 and new GW in, I noticed that the S3 screen is 20 percent dimmer compared to the new product with the same settings in the menu. But I associate this with the usual drop in pixel brightness from time to time, and with nothing else.

By the way, I really wanted to look at the new watch faces from Samsung, which he positioned as:

"... the choice of a 3D volumetric dial with imitation of real hands and a ticking sound, bringing the experience of use closer than ever to the experience of a traditional mechanical watch"

Now I'm looking at this "3D" dial and I don't see anything special. Yes, a bunch of gyroscopic reflections have been added to various small parts of the dial. But that didn't make him "real mechanical."

By the way, if you have a Gear S3 or Sport watch, download a free watch face from the store, which was made by one craftsman. It is very similar to the original one, though without gyroscopic glare like on the GW.

The automatic brightness mode on the watch sometimes dulls, as in the S3. And sometimes it works even worse. So in the 4th version of Tizen the miracle did not happen either.

Autonomy

I must say right away that the new watch lasts a little longer than the Gear S3 in the new state. But not so much that it really stands out strongly against the background of the previous model. I always use Always-On mode. And in this mode, the watch is discharged to 50% in 1 day 10 hours. Those. is it logical to assume that the clock will be discharged to zero in 2 days 20 hours? plus / minus a couple of hours. The women's version of the watch without Always-On mode lasts an average of about 3.5 days. Again, it all depends on the use cases. One of the problems of the clock is that in a three-room apartment, when moving from room to room, the clock is constantly connected and disconnected to the smartphone. Apparently concrete floors are affecting, and such disconnections / connections obviously do not contribute to saving power.

I do not believe in the "swing" of the battery, in the list of applications I did not see any special buggers. I only use my own dials (I don't use the weather dial when measuring autonomy)

There are special modes that allow you to increase the autonomy of the watch up to 8 days (energy saving). There is generally a “watch only” mode, in which the device can be left uncharged for almost 1.5 months on a single charge. These modes exist, but then it is not clear why buy a watch and not use all the available functions.

I only used the hard power saving mode (watch only) on the G3 a couple of times. And only when he forgot to charge the watch. And recharging a wireless device, which is very jealous of non-original cradles, is a very problematic thing.

Some things

Finally, you can turn on vibration or an alarm every hour, regardless of the set dial. When the watch is taken off your hand, these notifications stop working.

The conversation on the clock has become clearer. Sometimes I get confused, says the interlocutor on the clock on the other side, or through the phone. True, this is only under good conditions of network coverage by the operator. In the Gear S3, speech was perceived as talking on a headset. I don’t know how to describe it better. Probably, the sensation is somehow connected with the sound background, which is mixed with the conversation of the interlocutor.

There was a lot of noise about the so-called "ticking" of the clock. Yes, it works. Normal sound that comes through the speaker. But it works only on stock Samsung dials and turns off in Always-On mode. Well, the magic disappears immediately. You can only hear the ticking when the watch is close to your ear or in a very quiet room if the watch is at table level (for example, when you are working at a computer). So what is the point of such imitation?

I do not use watches in training. Pulse is measured in the same way as S3. Steps, floors - everything is the same. Only a stress measurement mode has been added, like in Samsung smartphones. And there was also a breathing program. Cool, of course, but not some kind of space.

In general, the more I think about the new watch, the more I realize that there was basically no point in switching to it from the Gear S3. I wanted to get the fourth Tizen - I got it. But if you only saw how the animation on the dials slows down on it! (we are talking about special distributions for Tizen 4, but not about Tizen 3) And the very connection of the watch to the dial designer was not without dancing with tambourines. New watches refuse to receive copyright certificate when Bluetooth mode is on. It seems to be a trifle - turn it off, get it and turn it on again. But Samsung does not say anywhere about such a nuance, and this resulted in the loss of three days of personal time.

I just described my personal impressions of the new Galaxy Watch. In my opinion, out of the entire new generation lineup, only the female version of 42 mm (rose gold) deserves attention. Ladies, we have finally released an excellent watch for you.

I don't know why, but I always want to put all the classic dials with arrows on my Galaxy Watch. Perhaps because of the notorious black bezel, to emphasize that the hand is not a Chinese toy, but quite a real watch. The female version even has a digital watch that looks pretty

In all other cases, the Gear Watch is no better than the Gear S3. And in terms of design, they even lose to them. So take the Frontier or Classic and don't overpay.

Samsung's Gear S3 is a fully functional smartwatch, although I would have liked to see more apps for it.

If you received the Gear S3 as a gift for the holidays, or just recently bought it, chances are there are some nuances and aspects of the watch that you have yet to explore. We've highlighted 10 tips and tricks to help you get comfortable with your new gadget.

The box is a charging stand.

Instead of throwing the box in the trash can, you can turn it into a charging dock for your watch. Apart from the simple assembly of some parts, there is no complicated work on your part. See the user manual included in the kit (page 5) for detailed instructions on how to assemble the stand.

During the setup process, the app will ask you to install two or three more apps that are needed so the watch and phone can communicate with each other. Follow the instructions and install the required plugins and services.

Change of dials.

The Gear S3 has many watch faces, most of which you will need to use the Gear app on your Android device to view and install.

You can switch between watch faces on your phone or on the watch itself. Press and hold on the current watch face, and then swipe left or right to view the installed watch faces. If the "Stylize" option is shown below the preview, click on it to change the color and customize the watch face to your liking.

Using Samsung Pay.

One of the important features in the Gear S3 is full compatibility with Samsung Pay. This means that you can pay for purchases at NFC terminals, as well as at old payment terminals with classic credit cards, using your watch. I spent the whole weekend using this technology
and she's amazing.

Press and hold the top button on the right of the watch for a couple of seconds to start the setup process. You need to add a plastic card to your phone, but the app will guide you through the process.

Then, when you need to pay for the purchase, click on the desired card and bring the watch to the payment terminal. It's just some kind of magic.

Access to quick settings.

Swipe down on the watch face to access quick settings. Here you can turn on airplane mode, manually turn on Do Not Disturb when you go to a meeting or movie, adjust the brightness, speaker volume, and control the music app.

Add widgets and change their arrangement.

By turning the ring around the watch face to the right, you can view the application widgets that are currently installed on the watch. When viewing a widget, press and hold on it to customize, change, remove or add new widgets.

Application management.

The default app circle is also customizable and can be invoked by long pressing on the app icon. A ring will appear outlining the edge of the watch screen, letting you know that you are in edit mode. Drag, drop and uninstall apps right from the watch screen.

Setting a shortcut to the Home button.

Double-clicking the bottom button on the Gear S3, also known as the Home button, launches S Voice by default. However, you can configure this setting to launch other applications ranging from Calendar to S Health.

On your watch, open Settings\u003e Device\u003e Double-press the Home key and select a shortcut from the list.

Do not disturb setting.

With the Gear S3's large battery, you can leave your watch on at night to track your sleep. But, waking up at night from calls and SMS on the wrist will not help you to have a good rest at night, so you will most likely want to turn on the "Do not disturb" mode.

On your watch, open Settings\u003e Device\u003e Do Not Disturb. Select the days and times that you want to block notifications, then double-check the scheduled activation.

Turn off reminders to move.

Some people are annoyed by the hourly reminders to get up and move. You can turn off these alarms in the S Health app on your watch. Scroll to the "Settings" icon and select it, and then click on "Not active time".
