By the end of the year, two cameras will appear on some budget models - there is no doubt about that.

An ordinary neat smartphone - most of the front panel area is occupied by the display, the frames are minimal. But it was not without a mourning border around him - in pursuit of a visual increase in this surface, many people are now resorting to such a simple and, in my opinion, unsuccessful trick. But the navigation keys were not transferred to the screen - they are located along them, and they are equipped with backlighting - this is not always the case.

The case, as befits a flagship without any claims to originality, is metal. There are four color options: gold, silver, rose gold and a special, dark gray option with a black bezel.

The smartphone comes with a simple case made of transparent plastic, which in two weeks was covered with scratches. On the one hand, it is a clear demonstration of what the device has to withstand under quite ordinary scenarios of use, even without walking in the same pocket with the keys. On the other hand, it is better to change the cover, for example, to a silicone one. But the protective glass of the front panel (the manufacturer of which is not specified this time) did not receive any visible damage during this period.

But the Xiaomi Mi5s Plus does not have dust and moisture protection, which become key elements of the image of flagship smartphones.

Together with Mi5S Plus, I had another Xiaomi, model Redmi Note 4. So, in appearance, you can't understand which of them is a representative of the middle class, and who is a top model. Of course, this is a compliment for a cheaper device, but Mi5S Plus is very difficult to distinguish from it, all of them look the same.

I didn’t like the fact that the Mi5S Plus received a shiny stainless steel casserole body. I think that Full HD is enough for a comfortable life, from this race for an ultra-clear picture, one extra load on the system and an increased battery consumption. A phone with a dual camera (both 13 megapixels), the system works the same as the Huawei P9: one camera takes black and white photos, and the other takes color. Then the software combines the two images into one, but I didn't like the quality.

The phone shoots noticeably worse than Mi5S, which has one camera, but a more sophisticated sensor. Here, too, there is no optical stabilization, with insufficient lighting, the quality of photos decreases sharply, in general, there is nothing to praise. I am standing in a museum, taking pictures of a car, out of 5 pictures, only 1 is sharp, this is not normal. Let me remind you that this is a top model, so the requirements are appropriate. Xiaomi likes to compare itself with benchmarks like Samsung or Apple, but they are still far from them.

I did not see the point in a double chamber, it would be better if she was here alone, but it worked like in. For me, this is the best representative of the family of Chinese phones, the camera works great and takes beautiful pictures during the day, and even in low light, the quality is higher than that of Mi5S Plus. The quality of the 4K video is quite average, strange artifacts appear when shooting, and here the sound is not written very well.

Filling

Everything is the same as in Mi5S: Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 4/64 or 6/128 GB of memory without a microSD slot, a compartment for two SIM cards in place. Throttling has not gone anywhere, in benchmarks the indicators are falling, in general, there is no difference compared to Mi5S, I will not repeat all the same words. There is no overheating, it suits well for games, just keep in mind that the phone is not set up perfectly, the potential is lost.

I liked the phone in terms of the working time, it lives longer than the Mi5s and already mentioned by me, more than one day of work comes out here. Of course, it all depends on the load and mode of using the phone, but it did not disappoint me.

Should I buy Xiaomi Mi5S Plus or take Mi5S? To be honest, I would not buy myself any of these models. You expect an excellent camera from a flagship phone, but these models do not. Normal, normal, but not great. You walk around with Xiaomi and you understand what Samsung takes money for and why top-end Galaxy is much more expensive. Because there is a universal camera, and for this pictures you get only in bright sunlight, but where to get one in Moscow, when there is a cloudy sky from October to May.

Yes, you don't need to use it, but why then overpay the extra $ 100-150 for the top, if you can buy a mid-range phone with the same screen and body, but 10 thousand cheaper? Therefore, if you think that buying a Mi5S Plus for 30 thousand rubles, you get a real flagship, then you are wrong.

What analogs can you look at? Once again, I will praise, for me it is still the favorite of the world of Android smartphones, I really liked it.
