  Working with files and folders

  To upload files to Disk, just copy or move them to the Yandex.Disk folder. For example, open a folder in Explorer (click the icon in the program menu) and drag the files you want to it. After synchronization, the moved files will appear on the server. You can open the Drive page and verify that all files have been downloaded successfully.

  Files that you delete from the Yandex.Disk folder on the server will be moved to the Trash. These files are stored in the Trash for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted from the server. You cannot recover files deleted from the server.

  Note. Files moved to Trash continue to take up space on your Drive. If you are running out of space, empty the Trash.

  To empty the Trash on Yandex.Disk, open the Yandex.Disk folder, right-click on the Trash, and select Yandex.Disk: Empty Trash.

  Right-click on the desired file or folder. In the menu that appears, select Yandex.Disk → Copy public linkif it's a folder, or Yandex.Disk: Copy public linkif it's a file.

  Click the Drive icon in the tray (notification area).

  Share folder

  Open the Yandex.Disk folder and right-click on the required folder. In the menu that appears, select Yandex.Disk: Configure Sharing.

  The program will open the access settings page in your browser. On this page, you can select acquaintances who need to be granted access and define their rights.

  Automatically upload photos and videos to Disk

  You can automatically upload all your photo and video files from any electronic media (camera, smartphone, memory card, etc.) to Disk and store them in the Camera folder or in any other folder on Disk.

  Uploading files

  Connect the device to your computer and wait for the startup dialog box to appear:

  To start the process of uploading photos and videos to Disk, click the Upload button. Leave the checkbox checked <название устройства> so that the next time you connect, the download from this device always starts automatically without prompting.

  All photo and video files found on your device will be uploaded to an automatically created Camera folder by default. All files in the folder will be renamed according to the date and time they were created (captured). You can manage your photos on your computer or on the service page in the image view mode.

  If during boot the device was disconnected from the computer and the option was enabled Always upload photos and videos from<название устройства> , when the connection is restored, the download will continue automatically. If the option was disabled, a dialog box with an autorun suggestion will open.

  To cancel auto-uploading photos and videos from your device, click the Not Now button. In the dialog box that opens, you can perform this action only for the current connection or enable the option Never download from this device... In this case, the next time you connect this unit, the startup prompt dialog box will not appear.

  Note. Auto upload of photo and video files will work even if you are disconnected from the network. When the Internet connection is restored, the “Camera” folder will start synchronizing with the server.

  Disable startup

  To turn off auto-download of photos and videos for all devices, follow these steps:

  If you want to change the decision to auto-boot from a device that you previously connected to your computer, check that the option Offer auto-upload of photos and videos is on and press the Forget devices... The next time you connect to such a device, a dialog box with an auto-boot suggestion will open.

  There is not enough space on the computer for the entire Yandex.Disk folder. What to do?

  To save space on your computer, you can disable synchronization of one or more folders with the Yandex.Disk server.

  You can also set up selective synchronization at the first start of the program, so as not to download all folders to your computer.

  Disable folder sync

  Attention. Folder sync cannot be disabled until all files are synced in the folder (the folder is marked with the icon).

  To turn off folder sync, follow these steps:

  Folder synchronization can also be disabled via the context menu. Open the Yandex.Disk folder and right-click on the required folder. In the menu that appears, select Yandex.Disk → Disable folder sync:
