The average cost of a printer, according to Yandex.Market, at the beginning of 2012 was 2,588 rubles. For such money, it is very difficult to find a worthy competitor. As usual, the manufacturer has made decent quality models, but the low cost of the devices is due to the high cost original cartridges... For example, a 1500 sheet MLT-D104S cartridge sells for an average of 2500 rubles! This is more expensive than the average cost of the printer itself! In addition, the cartridges are chipped, that is, when the toner counter shows 0%, the printer will lock up and report an "incompatible toner cartridge" - refilling the cartridge will not solve the problem. But the problem is solved by the printer firmware. After flashing it, it stops following the readings of the chip on the cartridges, which means that you can refill the same cartridge 5-7 times. If you refuel yourself, you pay less than 100 rubles for toner, if you take the cartridge to a refueling company, they will take 300-500 rubles. Total savings of 2,000 rubles.

How to find the serial number of your printer

To order the firmware you need to provide us serial number printer. We recommend copying the number from the UDV program, this is the fastest and reliable way... As a last resort, you can neatly rewrite the serial number either from the configuration report or on a sticker on the back of the printer.

How to find out the firmware version

The current firmware version on a working printer can only be found by printing a configuration report (see link). Please note that the configuration report will not print if the toner counter is 0% and the printer does not print. In this case, you will have to remove the side cover (from the side of the cables) and look at the firmware version on the board. If the printer is not yet locked, and you plan to order a fix firmware soon, please print a configuration report in advance!

To enter forced mode:

1. While holding down the "Print Screen" button, which is located above the power button on the printer - turn on the printer
2. Both indicators should light up and stay on
3. In this mode, load the firmware in the usual way (by dragging and dropping .hd onto usblist2.exe)

4. Open the unzipped archive, click once with the left mouse button on fix_ml1860,1865,1867_19.hd and without releasing drag it onto the file usbprns2.exe by dragging and dropping it. The firmware process will start. Attention, do not turn off the power while flashing the printer, it may damage it.
5. After the printer restarts (min 5) the firmware process is over, turn off the power.
6. We take out the cartridge from the device and glue the chip.
7. We turn on the device and print out the report, item 1. The letter -F appeared after the number. Now, in order for the cartridge to be seen as full, it is enough to simply turn off and turn on the power.
