Snooze mode mi band 2 description. Alarm clock in Mi Band - setting and working nuances. In Mi Fit app

In general, I am not a consumer of Xiaomi trackers - for tests and other tasks you can sometimes walk around with something similar, but in real life almost all data can be obtained using a smartphone and Apple Watch... For example, if I'm interested in seeing the distance traveled, I can do without a watch at all, the smartphone is always in my pocket, it measures distance, altitude and many other data. On the watch, you can see the pulse during training, another question is that in the gym I personally do not like to carry devices and even listen to music recently. All this, of course, is very, very subjective, but what is happening with trackers now perfectly demonstrates only one thing - this segment has slowly driven itself into a dead end. Just a few years ago, I waited for each new Jawbone bracelet, I was interested in what will be added to new devices, it was interesting to use, wear, walk, observe the results. Then I got tired of wearing something on my wrist, and the UP app completely replaced my bracelets - almost all functions except a smart alarm clock. Then the basic capabilities of the iPhone were forced to abandon UP, and now this utility is not in the smartphone's memory. Well, in order to somehow control sleep, you can use gadgets like Beddit, you don't need to wear it on your hand, just put it on the bed. I'll write a separate review for this thing.

Why did I start writing about the Xiaomi Mi Band 2? Well, here is such a story, my friend Sasha and I filmed a video, set up the tracker, compared the readings of the heart rate monitor with the Apple Watch, and little by little the thought came to tell about all these tests. For example, take at least the connection to the iPhone. I made a new account, and at one point I need to enter a confirmation code in the field. So, just imagine, in this very field there was an inscription Enter verification code - that is, you must first delete it, then enter the code.

It is very strange.

The second strange thing, after creation accountBy approving the data tolerances on the iPhone, you start pairing. And the smartphone does not find the bracelet, no matter how you press touch button on Mi Band 2. Let's go to the rescue and see a simple advice there - turn Bluetooth on and off on your smartphone. Then everything works out right away.

The third weird thing is that the Mi Band app seems to have removed all sleep-related features. But if you give access to the data, the corresponding item appears, Sleep data. By the way, why is there no Russian language? The company probably knows that in Russia thousands of people use bracelets, so why not make their life easier?

Well, after connecting, I started wearing a bracelet. I noticed the following. Firstly, the fastener is not the most comfortable, you have to adapt to fasten it. Secondly, it is very easy to type without removing the tracker, the silicone bracelet does not scratch the case - with Apple Watch on a steel bracelet, this is just a disaster. Thirdly, keep in mind that in order to take the pulse, you need the sensor to fit quite tightly to your hand, and you also need to install the second Mi HR program, it takes readings in real time. And these readings jump very strongly, for example, it was just 67 bpm, now 88 bpm. If you keep your hand calmly in one place, then you can get real data. As a middle ground, I used a conventional battery-powered tonometer. Well, the Apple Watch too - the watch copes quite well with measuring the pulse, only you need to look not at the first result obtained, but at the corrected one (these are just my observations). In real time, AWs are usually corrected by four to five points. And here's what's interesting, the readings of the Mi Band 2 and the Apple Watch differ by only a couple of points or do not differ at all - the only thing is that the Xiaomi sensor changes readings a little more slowly.

Now it's worth talking about the functionality of the bracelet when working with iOS, let me remind you that we have already published Artyom's article, first look at Mi Band 2, in the comments all the work has already been done for me by the user ontonivo, thanks for that:

“And so, the functions under ios are:

  • counting steps with statistics.
  • tracking of sleep phases taking into account the pulse (periodic measurement while you sleep) with statistics.
  • normal alarm clock (excluding sleep phases).
  • vibration with an incoming call.
  • measuring the pulse by pressing a button in the menu (a few seconds, no statistics and practical use).

All. No other notifications are provided (whatsapp, sms, etc.), there is no running mode, unlike android, and in general there is nothing else.

You can turn on continuous heart rate measurement through a crutch called Mi HR for 99 cents and recognize the device as a heart rate monitor in endomondo and other running apps. This somehow expands the functionality. But after a run, it is better to turn off the heart rate monitor, because in the constant measurement mode it will consume the battery in less than a day. Accordingly, you will have to turn it on through a crutch every time. Fortunately, this is a simple operation. "

Corrected a little, but in general everything is so, I will only note the following about the tracker and iOS:

  • Vibration on a call really helps not to miss a call, I'm used to it with Apple Watch if wearing regular watch and a tracker, you can never miss a call, which is a big, big plus. And it seems that many people think that this is a secondary or even tertiary function - in fact, this is far from the case.
  • In general, why do you need to know your pulse? It comes in handy in the gym, when jogging, but in real life we \u200b\u200bdon't, right? But this does not mean that the function is useless - if for no reason the pulse rises during the day, it makes sense to go to the doctor. Or just take a closer look at your lifestyle, change something.
  • So far I have nothing to say about the phases of sleep, Artem will tell you after long-term use.
  • The usual alarm clock, alas, did not wake me up - I had to get up at six in the morning, hoped yesterday on the tracker and slept. Maybe this is an isolated case, you need to check.
  • There was nothing to pay for the Mi HR program.
  • Naturally, for those who are involved in sports, I would advise some kind of special device, look towards the same Fitbit gadgets.

On the other hand, in the gym you can quickly check your heart rate when walking or running on a treadmill / ellipse, which can be helpful.

In general, what I want to say is that the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 for its money (that's 1,500 rubles in China and 3,800 in Russia) is a good device, from setting up to software. I think Artem will tell you more in the review, but I can recommend the tracker to iOS owners in absentia - I hope that the developers will expand the functionality of the device in the future. I liked that the gadget, albeit inexpensive, still motivates to walk - by default, you need to take 8000 steps per day. It seems a little, but try, walk as much every day. For example, I haven't fulfilled my quota today, and that means it's time to go.

Xiaomi Mi Band of any version normally monitors the quality of your sleep. In the morning, you can see a graph of how you slept - light and deep sleep phases. It is believed that you will feel much better if the alarm wakes you up during the light sleep phase. The principle of a smart alarm clock is based on this - you set the time when you should definitely wake up, and Mi Band, within half an hour before that time, selects the alarm time. At the same time, if during this half an hour you will be in a deep phase of sleep, the alarm will simply go off exactly at the appointed time.

It is still not entirely clear why Xiaomi decided to remove this function, because in many ways it was extremely useful, many even bought a bracelet solely for its sake. But this is a fact - in the current versions of the Mi Fit app for iOS and Android functions there is simply no smart alarm clock. However, it can be returned using third-party applications.

We recommend using the Mi Band Smart Alarm (XSmart) application (link on Google Play). It is a simple yet highly functional application. However, it has one limitation - after setting up a smart alarm, you cannot change the settings of regular alarms through Mi Fit, as this will reset the smart alarms.

Unfortunately, this way only works for Android.

How to enable smart alarm in Mi Band 2 on iOS

There is no way to set up a smart alarm clock via Mi Fit for iOS yet. As soon as any method appears, this article will be updated.

The popularity of Xiaomi fitness trackers is due not only to the low price and attractive appearance. The first version of the bracelet was liked by many users because of the wonderful alarm clock, which "gently" woke the wearer with vibration and was very smart. After leaving next update of the proprietary Mi Fit application, the top-end functionality simply disappeared and you had to roll back the software to use your favorite alarm clock. How does it work and is there a smart alarm function in Mi band 3?

Principle of operation

In the utility settings, it was necessary to set the rise time, for example, 6:30. Then, in 30 minutes, the bracelet is activated and analyzes the sleep phase, if it is light, then the device begins to quietly wake the owner with a triple vibration. If the device determines that the sleep phase is deep, then it will begin to vibrate only at the specified time.

In this case, the alarm will turn off automatically if you stand up or shake your hand. A maximum of 3 signals could be set, since the memory of the smart watch is small, and the notification worked even when the phone was turned off.

Mi gang 3

Turning on a smart alarm clock on the third generation of Xiaomi bracelets will not work, since there is simply no such functionality. The clever version was removed in the first generation, so the problem had to be solved through third-party software. It is still unknown what justified the decision to remove the functionality, which was in great demand.

There are several solutions for those who still want to use the functionality described in the article. To start an alarm, you need to install several programs and spend 5-10 minutes of time. There may be some problems, but you can solve them by linking / unlinking the Mi band.

To set up a smart alarm clock, you need to use only one software so that there are no conflicts. The bracelet memory is designed for a small number of signals, so even 2-3 alerts in three different programs may cause an error.

On Android

You can set up a smart alarm clock through a clever move by connecting the first version of the bracelet, if it is not available, you will have to use third-party software.

Bracelet combination

You need Mi band 1S and the Mi band tools program installed on your smartphone. Next, follow these steps:

  1. Link 1S to the program.
  2. The "Smart Alarm" menu should appear, in it you should configure the alarms.
  3. Unlink the previous device and bind Mi band
  4. If everything goes well, the alarm will start working 20-30 minutes before the set time (depending on the settings).

This method was reported by a user of one of the major forums about electronics. This means that the smart alarm clock is excluded at the software level, but the hardware capabilities remained in all generations of Xiaomi trackers.

Xsmart Alarm

This software was actively used with the second generation of Xiaomi trackers and was a full-fledged replacement for a smart alarm clock.

At the moment there is no information that the program supports Mi band 3, as it was updated in December 2017.

On the first and second generation of bracelets, in order to deliver a signal, the following steps had to be taken:

And paste it into a special field on the main screen of the utility.

The most important point is the trigger range - the time until the alarm clock when the sleep phase analysis begins.

One of the main disadvantages of the software is pop-up ads, which are frankly boring. You can buy the PRO version so that it does not interfere with comfortable use. A paid license also gives you access to hidden settings... At the moment it costs ~ 70 rubles.

Tools & Mi band

This program is included in the top software for Xiaomi fitness bracelets. Recently there was an update for Mi band 3. There is integration with the Sleep as Android application - a utility that adds a smart alarm clock to the phone or smart watch with free 14-day demo access.

Tools - paid applicationwhich is sold in the official Android store. There is no decent alternative for it, so a license for 238 rubles does not seem such a bad option.

The utility works great in conjunction with Mi fit (according to the developers). To set up a smart alarm you need:

By the way, this program was previously almost the only option for the Russification of a new generation of bracelets until an update for Mi Fit was released.

Despite the fact that the fitness bracelet provides a whole package of functions, users face some problems when they do not know how to use all the functionality of this device. But even having the ability to distinguish between the phases of sleep, the Mi Band 2 tracker does not offer a smart alarm clock for some reason.

Install Smart Alarm (XSmart)

Developers third-party programs can provide their options for solving this problem. We offer you one of the options that will make it possible to use a smart alarm in the tracker, which can wake you up at the most suitable time for waking up.

Attention! This method works for Android smartphones.

Use the Check button to make sure that everything was done correctly. In case of successful synchronization, a message will pop up that the bracelet has been found.

Configuring Smart Alarm (XSmart)

Under the MAC address, add-on options will be offered. Here you set the required time and day of the week. Note that the “Smart alarm” type works only with the Mi Band 1 version, since it is built-in in it. Therefore, to turn on the smart alarm Mi 2, you need to use only the XSmart slider.

Application settings assume activation of functions such as:

  • pause between vibrations
  • number of vibrations
  • icon on the display of the second generation bracelet

There are also sound add-ons here, bluetooth connection and XSmart notifications.

Important! In order for the smart signal of this program to work during the time, it is necessary to leave the connection of the mobile device with the bracelet via Bluetooth throughout the night. Otherwise, it will take a little time for the APP to automatically connect the Bluetooth to the phone, and this may affect the incorrect response time of the smart function.

How the XSmart smart alarm clock works

After correct installation, software settings and synchronization with the Mi Band 2 bracelet, smartphone for certain time before the set signal, which you configure yourself, will connect with the tracker every minute, recognizing the phase of your sleep. As soon as he knows that you are in the phase of light sleep, the bracelet on his wrist will vibrate. If you are still in a deep sleep, then in this case the built-in Mi alarm will work exactly at the appointed time for waking up.

It is worth noting that XSmart can be affected by the power saving mode in the smartphone, which prevents the software from working properly. You should add the application to exceptions or disable this mode.

How to turn off the alarm

This can be done in several ways: through the device itself or through the programs installed on the phone.

In Mi Band 2

When your fitness bracelet vibrates, you need to press the tracker touch button to turn off the alarm.

In Mi Fit app

You can disable it like this: Notifications -\u003e Alarm clock. Move the sliders of all available items to the inactive state (to the left).

In XSmart app

Set the sliders for activating alarms to the "off" position:

Do not forget that if you are inactive after waking up, the tracker on your hand will consider this as a continuation of sleep, and after 10 minutes it will vibrate again. He understands that you are awake, not just by your open eyes, but by your physical actions.

How to turn on a regular alarm clock in Mi Band 2

If you wake up without any problems and get up exactly at a given time, then XSmart is useless for you. You can also set the signal time in Mi Fit on your smartphone.

In the updated version softwarewhich changed a little appearance interface, you can enable a regular alarm clock as follows: Notifications section -\u003e Alarm clock -\u003e Click the Add button as a plus at the bottom of the page -\u003e select the alarm triggering parameters -\u003e OK

Unfortunately, no way. Only the version of the Mi Band 1s bracelet can use a smart alarm clock in a third-party for iPhone application called Mi HR, but in the second generation model, this program only allows continuous reading of the heart rate.

Nevertheless, the developers promised to implement the function itself in Mi Fit, so that through it users android smartphones and iOS were able to use the smart signal with any version of the tracker.

In our instructions, we are not responsible for the correct and accurate operation of the XSmart program. If you have any questions regarding its accuracy or any errors, you need to contact the developers. But in our comments, you can describe your experience with this software.

A distinctive feature of the second version of Mi Band from Xiaomi is that it does not have a built-in alarm clock. The device retained the ability to analyze the user's sleep quality and collect the necessary information for this, but it cannot wake up.

Is it possible to fix the situation to turn on the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 smart alarm? Of course it is possible. To activate the function we need, we will have to perform a few simple steps.

How does technology work?

Its basis is smart app Alarm, which is available for free download through the Play Market resource.

Next, the owner of the gadget must start a regular alarm clock on the phone at the desired time. The task installed program is activation 30 minutes before the appointed time in order to check what stage of sleep the user is in. If it's time for REM sleep, the application issues a command to signal to wake up.

How to set up the alarm clock of Xiaomi Mi Band 2?

An obligatory and first step is to activate all alarms that are available to the user, including the system one, in the Mi Fit application, in the Mi Band 2 Func Button.

The next step is to visit the Play Store in order to download the Smart Alarm program. Please note that Bluetooth must be turned on to run the app after downloading.

Next, go to Mi Fit and click on the "Profile" icon. There you will see the "Devices" sub-item, click on it and go to the Mi Band submenu. Our goal is to find and copy the MAC address that belongs to your smart bracelet.

The copied information should be entered into the appropriate field in XSmart Alarm (located at the top of the window).

On the top right side there is a "Check" button. Click on it and wait a little. If your actions were performed correctly, data about the found gadget and the current battery level will be presented.

For the owner, 3 options become available how to turn on the alarm clock of the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 for the desired time. Choose either one of the three proposed options, or all at once - as you like. Set the required time, and the device will do the rest for you. You can be sure that XSmart will wake you up at the optimal time.

Important information about sleep phases

In order for the awakening to take place in the most comfortable conditions, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with the biological rhythms of sleep in advance. It is quick and deep, and the easiest awakening occurs in the first, i.e. easy phase.

In Mi Fit, phase information is displayed as a bar graph. When the appropriate time to wake up is determined, the wearer will hear the alarm ringing and the vibration of the smart bracelet at the same time.
