What to do if digital television channels are not shown? Why does the LG TV not find terrestrial digital channels: reasons, what to do? Why doesn't the TV search for digital channels?

Below is a drawing of the inverter. Simplified, but it’s easy to understand why the TV doesn’t show, fix the problem. What kind of beast is an inverter, how to handle it? Let's answer the question and learn something new about modern technologies. The topic is close to welders; similar methods are used to ignite the electrode. The advantage is adjustability. The pulse-width modulator easily changes the effective voltage of the primary winding of the transformer by varying the current. Increased frequency is used to reduce size. On ultrasound, the transformer takes up much less space.

Inverter connection diagram

Operation of a modern TV

There is sound, but there is no picture - the failure concerns the image formation circuits. The scanner can fail, but in most cases the problem is explained by the following. Previously, the ray tube dominated in television, they paid triple attention to the posistor, today LCD monitors cannot do without backlighting. Moreover, the quality/price of the device mainly depends on this. Various techniques are used for illumination, most often conventional halogen lamps covering the perimeter or part. Organic diodes are not affordable for everyone. Lamps for ignition and combustion require the creation of a discharge. The process of gas ionization is impossible without high voltage. How to obtain it in a miniature (comparatively) device?

Correct answer: transformer. To get a thousand out of twelve volts, look for a large transformer... Therefore, a pulse generator controlled by a pulse-width modulator is used. Simply put, a key, an inverter. The clocked signal in the circuits cuts the signal, in our case it forms the required pulse steepness so that it can easily pass through the transformer. Determined by the width of the pulses, the signal power changes. This is how the current is regulated:

The question arises: why do we need an inverter if the pulse-width modulator could control the transformer itself? Related to load capacity. The microcircuit detects a certain limit of power dissipation. They try to hide series of microcircuits in the same case, achieving uniformity. It is permissible to combine an inverter and a pulse-width modulator in one circuit; this is done infrequently; the current consumption of the assembly will increase. Consequently, the dissipation power will increase. Will lead to a violation of uniformity.

An inverter is a simple circuit, often with one key element. Therefore, using it it is easy to obtain a significant output current without loss of uniformity. The enable key is usually formed by semiconductor transistors. The power reaches the dimmer, whose voltage level is controlled by the pulse width modulator. Larger pulse width, brighter image. The signal entering the lower branch (see figure) repeats the shape, controlling the winding of the transformer. The secondary circuit generates current. The backlight lights come on.

Current feedback is compared with the signal from the comparator brightness control, which is part of the pulse-width modulator. If there is a mismatch, the pulse duration is adjusted in the desired direction. That's the whole inverter. Familiar to welders, it converts DC voltage into AC voltage, controlling signal parameters. The voltage increases, welders need a significant arc current.

TV inverter repair

It happens that the TV screen does not show, but there is sound. In most cases, the problem concerns the backlight lamps and inverter. It’s logical to start testing here. Thanks to design features, it is difficult to get to the backlight lamps, troubleshooting begins electrical diagram. Inverter. Find it by the presence of a transformer on the board, do not confuse it with the power supply (where the TV cord goes).

There should be 12 volts at the input, measure the value with a tester and check the integrity of the fuse. If you get burned, wait a while to rejoice, it usually means something has broken inside. Having supplied 12 volts, start checking by checking the presence of power on the brightness control circuit. Without it, the screen will refuse to light up. The voltage is zero - the transistor switch is to blame. Correct by replacing burnt out elements. Transistors are ringing short circuit.

The enable signal is called Enable and is applied electronic board TV. Unplug the connector, apply 12 volts to power and 5 volts to Enable. The lamps come on - the TV board is faulty. Otherwise, we continue the search. It's time to conduct an external inspection of the capacitors, transformer, and lamp connectors. Faulty parts can be easily identified:

  • Resistors turn black.
  • The protective film on transformers melts.

If, after starting the circuit, a voltage surge appears on the lamp, it is necessary to clean the contacts. It is useful to try to insert working ones. There is a high probability that the backlight will work again. It happens that the lamps blink after switching on and immediately go out. Indirectly indicates a malfunction of the feedback circuit or overload.

You should check the capacitors in the lamp branches, ring the transformer windings (zero resistance indicates a short circuit), then check the elements along the feedback circuit. Transistors, capacitors, diodes, resistors, etc. It is important to know the operating features of various microcircuits; technical sheets usually indicate acceptable modes. It often helps to identify a problem with a seemingly ordinary circuit. Some elements do not carry the load and create incorrect conditions.

The behavior described above, when the lamps flash and go out, is characteristic of a breakdown in the oscillations of the pulse-width modulator. There is nothing at the output of the transformer. If you find a frequency measuring device, connect a 100 kOhm resistor to the lamp connector. Ultrasonic vibrations and higher (tens of kHz) should be recorded. Depending on the brightness settings, the frequency changes: it increases with growth.

The measured parameters do not correspond to the nominal values - the voltage generation circuit of the primary winding is to blame. After the inverter there are several signal filtering/optimization elements. Chokes, transistors, resistors. They are checked in the usual manner for serviceability. If the brightness is unstable or blinking, the suspicion concerns the central circuit of the TV or the pulse width modulator.

TV settings are wrong

It happens that the channel settings are lost. The TV memory chip is in no way related to the backlight. In this case, there are ripples on the screen and there is no sound. The TV is slow to show channels, you should check the provider's promotions. Enjoy, www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtqrIVaEDNI#t=11. The video says: without updating the software, Tricolor TV channels will refuse to be received. The problem can be easily resolved by following these steps.

Broadcasting is carried out in the DBV-T2 format - the channels are divided into multiplexes. One frequency transmits many programs; the TV, using the built-in adapter, extracts the information broken up by frames, converting it into a screen-friendly form. The multiplex settings are lost and all the channels included in the set disappear. You need to know the broadcast frequency. Corresponds to channel number digital television. Then you need to visit the TV menu and start searching for channels on the selected frequency. Upon completion of the operation, a list of detected stations, signal strength, and quality should appear on the screen.

Sometimes the antenna is to blame. In our area, cables are often cut, especially satellite cables. And not at all for the purpose of handing over non-ferrous metals to a collection point, for reasons of competition. The action is very difficult to track and punish. From time to time, local providers try to suppress the “heavenly” ones broadcasting via satellite. It’s trivial to check the quality of the connection. In the event of a break, the receiver will not see the converter or disk.

We hope we answered the question of why the TV doesn’t show, what could be broken, and how to fix the problem. Now readers can find the problem themselves. Please note that the backlight lamps should be removed as carefully as possible to avoid damage.

If almost all channels and streams do not work for you, very often the problem is bad speed Internet connection or unstable operation. Next to the stream is written its speed (kbit/s) - this is the minimum speed required for more or less tolerable operation of the stream. First of all, check your Internet speed, this can be done on the website speedtest.net, it is advisable to choose a server for testing somewhere in Europe. You can also look at the ip address of the stream to which the connection is made in the html code of the page and make a trace in the WinMTR program - this way you can find out the stability of the connection with this server and on which providers’ nodes problems are observed.

Remember that a channel may have several added streams that you can switch between. The list of streams is located strictly above the player.

3. Problems on the main streams (DE/NL servers)

If you watch the main streams on popular channels (DE/NL servers), then the broadcasts may be interrupted periodically. Usually for 1-2 minutes, sometimes more. In this case, please be patient. In the future, we will try to reduce the time it takes to restore streams to a minimum.

4. Problems on other streams

These flows tend to be less stable than the main ones. They can very often have short-term interruptions in broadcasting, or a complete shutdown. Most often, the player will give an error or simply will not connect to the source. In this case, you also need to wait, you can report a broken source in a comment - then we will check it out of turn. In any case, sooner or later we will get to this broadcast source and fix it or turn it off. Sometimes, the channel receives the corresponding mark “The channel is working intermittently” - this means that we are aware of the problem and are warning you.

5. Plugin or codec is not installed

You may not have the necessary plugins for playback on your computer. Read this article about how to install them. Also, your computer may not have the necessary codecs to play video streams (for example, there is an image and no sound, or vice versa). Webcams may, in principle, have no sound, so the problem of codecs relates more to TV channels. In this case, install the K-Lite codec set Codec Pack.

6. Channel marked as disabled

If the page is marked “Channel disabled” (in the center of the player), this means that, unfortunately, we did not find a single stream of this channel and we had to disable it. In this case, the channel is removed from publication on our website. But the site page itself remains, which is why you see this message. We leave the page in case we suddenly find a working broadcast source again. In this case, the channel will again be available for viewing on the website.

According to the terms of provision of satellite television services from Tricolor TV, after the period for which the subscriber made payment ends, the broadcast of paid TV channels must stop, which does not apply to free (federal) channels. Why don't they show free channels? Is it possible to correct the situation yourself, without turning to specialists, or should you immediately call the Tricolor TV support service and call a specialist?

Troubleshooting should begin with starting point: From satellite to your TV. Start from the beginning and check each option for the reason for the current situation. If you try to do this consistently and, if possible, not miss anything, you will be able to find out why the broadcast was stopped and fix your problem yourself, without turning to the help of a specialist, which, in turn, is often quite expensive and does not always help resolve the issue.

Algorithm for checking the health of the receiving device

  • Stage No. 1. If you want to find out why the channels are not working, then first reboot your receiving equipment. Unplug it, then wait a few minutes and turn it back on. There is a possibility that there was an error during the connection and the default settings may not have worked. This led to a malfunction of the Tricolor TV broadcast.
  • Stage No. 2. If you are faced with the fact that even the information channel does not work and the “No signal” sign appears on the TV screen, then most likely the automatic settings have failed. Please note that this channel continues to work even if a Tricolor smart card is not inserted into the receiver.

In order to correct the settings, you need to reset all settings of the receiving device to factory settings. If indeed the reason that Tricolor turned off the broadcast of free channels is a settings failure, then after returning to automatic, it should resume.

Factory reset

In order to reinstall the necessary settings, you need to follow these steps.

  • Open the menu and select the section called “Settings”.
  • Enter your personal PIN code, then select the “Factory settings” column and confirm moving to this item.
  • A notification will appear on the screen indicating that you want to reset all currently configured settings. You need to confirm your choice again.
  • After a few seconds, your receiver will reboot.
  • After that, indicate your area and search for broadcast TV channels from Tricolor. Once you find all the broadcasts included in your package, you need to save your settings.

If at that moment the previously paid period for broadcasting channels from Tricolor has ended, and paid TV channels are not shown, then federal ones will be moved to the end of the list of available broadcasts. Don't worry if you can't understand why the free channels aren't in their usual place—they've just been moved to another part of the list. You should look for them in the area after channel 101.

Additional Information

If you reset the settings to factory defaults, but the broadcast was not resumed, then you should check the connection between your satellite dish and the receiver. It is possible that free channels are not shown due to broken wires. If the cable was not damaged, the antenna settings or the position of your dish may have been changed. You can fix this yourself, following the instructions for installing the dish, and if you are not sure that you can do it yourself, you have the opportunity to call a specialist from their Tricolor TV subscriber service service to your home.

What should I do if free channels are disabled, but the information channel is showing?

There are several possible reasons why federal channels are not working, but the information channel is not disabled and still shows:

  • You might simply not have confirmed your subscriber details if you connected recently.
  • The receiver cannot recognize the Tricolor TV smart card.
  • You have installed the access card incorrectly.

If you have not confirmed your Tricolor TV client details, then the broadcast of paid encrypted TV channels may be interrupted and turned off even if the period you previously paid for is still valid.

Confirmation of subscriber rights

Call the service line 78005000123 and ask the operator to confirm your personal user data.

Or you can do it like this. Go to the official website of the Tricolor TV provider. Next, log in to the “company user”, which can be found on the main page. After you log in, you will be able to confirm your subscriber information.

In order to receive a password from the operator to enter the " Personal Area» Tricolor TV, enter the identification code of your receiver or indicate the connection agreement number. After that, order a password to log in. You have the opportunity to receive a password both on the receiving device and on the mobile phone number you previously specified by a special notification in the form of an SMS message. In addition, you can receive a password in a letter to your email.

Receiver Tricolor

Check whether your Tricolor receiving device can detect a smart card. To check, open the menu and find the item called “Conditional Access”, then go to the DRE module. Check that the smart card identification number in the corresponding field in the menu matches the number indicated on the access card that is inserted into your receiver. If the number is not displayed, the receiver cannot detect your Tricolor TV access card.

Often, the provider's clients are faced with the fact that, simply because of their carelessness or inattention, they can insert a smart card the wrong way, which can, among other things, interrupt the broadcast of free channels. You should check this option too. If you are sure that you installed the card correctly, then, if possible, check its serviceability also on other similar equipment. If the broadcast resumes on another device, then you should look for the reason in the receiver. In this situation, the best way to figure out why the receiver is not working is to contact a specialist at the service center.

Other reasons why the broadcast does not work

It is also possible that Tricolor TV has turned off the broadcast and free channels are not shown due to the fact that your software is outdated and cannot receive the signal correctly. If this is true, then the user only needs to update it. You can do this yourself: find the corresponding item in the menu and enable the update. Please note that during this process you absolutely cannot turn off the receiving device, as the settings files will be overwritten, and if this does not happen completely, then your equipment will work accordingly. Thus, you can damage your receiver!

Free channels may also be disabled due to planned maintenance. Just wait a while or ask other Tricolor TV clients whether they are showing the broadcast. You can also clarify this information on the official website of the company.

Your receiver may be outdated as such, making it incompatible with modern broadcast technologies satellite television. In this case, you should purchase a new receiving device.

If none of the above corresponds to your situation and the proposed options for resolving the problem could not help you, then you should write an email to the customer technical support service or call the toll-free customer service hotline.

Good day!

In connection with the widespread transition to digital broadcasting, today’s question is far from uncommon, and over the summer I received dozens of them...

If we somehow classify them and distribute them into subgroups: then in 90% of cases the inability to catch a “digit” is associated with the antenna, cable, incorrect TV settings (and only in the remaining 5-10% the question is much deeper: firmware, equipment malfunction, etc. ).

Actually, in this note I have collected these variants of problems together (so that anyone can “go through” them before calling a specialist and spending money on it...).

What to do if the TV does not find digital channels

About types of broadcasting

The article should begin with a few words about the types of broadcasting (so that further it is clear what we are talking about). Depending on the reception method, there are three options for viewing the “digits”:

Actually, if you have a problem with cable or satellite television, then this note is unlikely to help you (the fact is that there are many operators, there are even more connection methods, and it is unrealistic to consider all this in one note...).

Checking the coverage

Next, what you need to pay attention to is coating. Is there a TV tower in your area and does it cover your area? In general, if you live in Russia (and not far in the taiga 👀), then you are almost certainly in the digital TV coverage area.

You can find out which channels are broadcast in your area on the official website:. Note: in top menu you will need to select your area.

What channels are broadcast in my area?

By the way, on the website you can see a map on which the towers and the areas they cover are marked.

Does TV support digital TV

So that the TV can receive digital channels- it must support the DVB-T2 standard. If your TV is from 2017-2019, then it 100% supports this technology...

In general, to find out for sure, you need to clarify the TV model and look at its technical details. characteristics. This can be done, for example, on .

By the way, if it turns out that your TV does not support the DVB-T2 standard (that is, it will not be able to receive digital broadcasting), then you can do the following:

  1. or purchase for a TV that supports this standard(issue price from 700 rubles). Such a set-top box will be like an “intermediary” between the TV and the antenna;
  2. or connect to cable/satellite TV (all equipment is provided and configured upon connection by the operator, so there is no point in racking your brains on your own 👌);
  3. or replace the TV with a newer one.

Antenna and TV cable integrity

To receive digital channels you can use the same antenna as for tax television. True, I would immediately note one important thing: if you do not live in a large city, perhaps you should think about antenna with active amplifier .

Such an antenna receives broadcasts much better and provides a constant image without interference or freezes. Such antennas can be purchased at most stores that sell equipment...

Regarding cable integrity: check if there are any twists, any deformations, knots, etc. Often, the cable is chewed by pets.

Of course, the safest thing to do is to walk from the antenna to the TV yourself, looking through every centimeter of the cable. If there is any twist on the cable, it is better to replace the entire cable (if this is not possible, use the F-socket to connect the broken cable, see screenshot below).

In addition to the type of antenna, it has a huge impact on the quality of reception. location . For example, even an ordinary indoor antenna, if moved around the apartment, can give completely different reception quality (for example, in the bedroom by the window, the TV will receive digital reception perfectly, but in the living room - not so much).

Important Notes:

  1. an indoor antenna almost always loses to an external (outdoor) one;
  2. an antenna with an amplifier is (usually) better than without it (by the way, amplifiers can be active or passive - the first type wins significantly!);
  3. if the antenna is located below the level of nearby buildings or trees, it will catch much worse (see picture below).

Those. brief reputation The above is this: try placing the antenna in another room. If you live in a private house and are far from a TV tower, and surrounded by trees and other buildings, try placing the antenna on the roof (even better, raise it above the level of the trees, see photo below).

Antenna above the level of plantings and buildings

Setting up the channels correctly

And so, the antenna is checked, the cable is connected, the amplification works (if it exists), we move on to setting up the TV...

After going to settings and selecting auto-search for channels, pay attention to check the box next to broadcasting(how it looks on LG TV is shown in the photo below). Many people cannot find digital channels precisely because of this “little thing”...

In addition, some TVs have the ability to specify the type of antenna connected. Of course, choose the option: regular, street. In general, then, after 3-5 minutes. after scanning, the TV should find 10-20 TV channels...

To help!

How to switch to digital television in Russia - all the most important:

In some cases, the problem with digital reception may lie in the firmware (TV software). After updating it, the TV often started working normally (be careful with the firmware - there is a possibility of damaging the TV).

Note: how to update the firmware is usually always indicated on the official TV website. For example, Samsung has this information, LG has this information.

If you solved the issue somehow differently, please let me know in the comments (thanks in advance).

Happy setup!

Many people face a problem when, after purchasing, their TV does not receive channels. Don’t immediately get upset and rush to return the product back to the store. Often, most problems can be solved on your own.

Digital broadcasting is a technology in which pictures and sound are transmitted using compressed encoded signals. This transmission method has many advantages compared to analog:

  • excellent quality of transmitted picture and sound;
  • immunity from interference;
  • the ability to transmit a large number of channels;
  • simple and quick setup;
  • Internet access.

Reasons for the problem

In fact, there are many reasons why the TV does not find channels. Let's look at the most common of them:

  1. Wrong UHF antenna type. It is possible that the antenna you have installed is not suitable for digital channels.
  2. Incorrect direction of TV antenna. This problem may occur due to the location of the antenna in the opposite direction from the main broadcast station.
  3. The receiver is disabled or faulty. This option is not excluded. It is worth carefully checking that the receiver is connected correctly, as well as its functionality.
  4. Very weak signal reception. If, after checking all the previous reasons, you do not find any problems, it is worth checking your receiving device. It is possible that its signal is not enough to find channels.
  5. Old firmware version. Outdated TV firmware can also create this problem. You can update the firmware yourself by downloading and installing required file from the official website of your TV model. If you have Samsung equipment, then you need to go to Samsung.com. However, we advise you to leave this matter in professional hands by contacting a service center.
  6. Read also,.

How to fix the problem?

If you’re all set, we’ll try to explain in detail the solution to this issue.

Connection methods

It is quite possible that this problem occurs due to incorrect connection method digital broadcasting. Each method has advantages and disadvantages. However, before you start searching for channels, you must connect the equipment correctly. Let's consider these options:

  • Using a decimeter antenna. In this case, you need to connect the TV antenna and amplifier to your signal receiver, then connect it to the TV. Next, select auto search and wait for the result.
  • Via cable. A large number of providers provide digital television services. Almost all modern TVs There are built-in signal cards. In this case, to receive the signal, just plug the cable into the socket and turn on automatic search channels. Of course, such a service is paid.

Search settings

It is possible that the problem lies in incorrect search settings. The setup scheme is almost the same on all TVs, so you should not have any difficulties. In this case, we recommend performing the following manipulations to ensure that the settings are correct:

  1. Enter the “Settings” or “Broadcast” section.
  2. Find the "Search for Channels" option.
  3. Click on "Auto search" or "Auto setup".
  4. Select your connection type (described above).
  5. Select the Full search mode and the type of channels you want to search (analogue or digital).
  6. Click Search or Scan.
  7. Sort the found ones.

After that correct setting the search will be completed. If you were unable to catch more than one channel, we recommend reading factory instructions your TV or receiver. Perhaps you will find a solution to this problem there. As a last resort, you need to contact television setup specialists who will find and fix the problem.

Watching TV after a hard day at work is a daily ritual for any person. When connecting DVB T2, no problems or malfunctions are expected, but you want to watch your favorite channels. Having turned on the TV and finding silence in the broadcast, digital users wonder why the channels have disappeared and the set-top box does not show.

As standard, 20 channels are available for viewing via a digital tuner. The main reasons leading to interruptions in the air:

  • repair work at the TV station, in which case several channels will be unavailable;
  • problems with the equipment receiving the signal.

Often the breakdown can be fixed on its own without contacting service department. Each variant of the problem has its own solutions; in the first case, the broadcast will resume upon completion of technical work.

Technological violations or technical work

Technical problems at the station where the signal comes from are the main reason for the absence of some channels. If the broadcast is not restored for a long time, you can try to find the programs yourself. What to do:

  • go to “Settings” on TV;
  • Through the “Automatic settings” menu, we activate “Auto search”, the system will begin scanning frequencies for missing channels;
  • use " Manual setting search" in cases where the automatic one did not produce results.

To start a search in manual mode You will need to first find a Russian frequency map on the Internet, which will indicate what parameters are being broadcast. The exception is the situation when the channel ceased to exist and disappeared from the air.

Incorrect DRE channel encoding

The digital set-top box does not show - a common problem when the digital tuner is not used long time. Broadcasting of digital channels will resume automatically after being connected to the network. Correct data synchronization may require several hours; during this period the receiver cannot be turned off from the network, otherwise the DRE encoding will not be corrected.

No digital tuner registration

At least 2 channels stopped showing - a direct result of the lack of tuner registration. To check that the equipment is included in the system, you need to go to the service provider’s website. In the registration section it is checked serial number, if absent, it is entered on the site. After saving the data, the receiver reboots.

End of subscription to services provided by the provider

If you fail to pay for the satellite television service on time, a message appears on the screen stating that the channels are paid. With this message, all broadcasts are blocked and watching TV shows is impossible. The trouble can be corrected by paying the bills. A completely different case is when the message pops up on free channel, in such a situation, the provider must warn that the channel has become paid and a subscription is required to view it.

Effect of bad weather on the antenna

Heavy rains cause interruptions in broadcasting, bad weather interferes with high-quality signal transmission. In such cases, there is no need to move the antenna or take it out of the apartment outside; broadcasting will resume when the weather stabilizes. All that needs to be done afterwards is to check the connecting cable for integrity and, if broken, replace it.

No signal

There is no signal - the inscription pops up unexpectedly and leads to bewilderment. There can be many reasons for the loss of connection; you should look for the problem gradually:

  • check the integrity of the wires; signs of oxidation or breaks lead to deterioration and complete loss of the signal;
  • turn on the set-top box and see the menu display; on the back of the tuner there is an RCA connector, the plate of which may be damaged;
  • check the possibility of connecting digital channels in the house.

Cases when a user buys T2 and does not check the digital card are among the most common.

Incompatible software

One of the reasons for broadcast failures is system failure V software. You can check the incompatibility by entering the “Restore Channels” mode, when an action error appears:

  • “CHANEL” and “TV/Radio” are pressed simultaneously, the buttons are located on the control panel and the receiver itself;
  • A loading window appears where “STANDBY” is selected.

Antenna settings failure

Half of the channels do not show - direct evidence of failures in the antenna setup. A technician can solve the problem, so you should call the provider and order additional settings. There may also be poor communication between the equipment.

Insufficient antenna power

The quality of channel broadcasting depends on the signal level. The closer the tower is to your home, the clearer the broadcast will be. If several channels are lost, you should rotate the antenna to improve the signal. To check the quality, press “i”; after pressing, bars with levels will appear on the screen; with a value of 50% or less, the channel will not be shown. The solution to the situation would be to purchase a powerful antenna or amplifier. At a distance of 2 km from the house to the tower, an indoor antenna is enough for high-quality work. When using a collective antenna, the power drops and the signal branches out.

Damage to the console

If channels are missing on digital set-top box You should check the tuner for serviceability. Breakdown alarms:

  • The main menu of the receiver is not displayed, but there is no mechanical damage to the connectors;
  • The antenna is configured correctly, but when switching channels there is no information about the signal quality.

If you notice one of the signs, you should call a specialist for diagnosis.

Damage to the TV

If the equipment does not respond to pressing buttons, it can cause serious problems and require lengthy repairs in the service. Before calling the wizard, you should perform a basic check:

  • see if the cord is unplugged from the socket and if there is light in the house; if there is a voltage drop, the protection may work and turn off the TV for a while;
  • check the serviceability of the remote control and the charge of the batteries;
  • remove unnecessary objects from the surface of the set-top box; the presence of physical interference blocks the signal;
  • check the serviceability of the indicators; when using the remote control, the indicator reacts;
  • Check the modes; when the sleep function is turned on, the screen will be black.

In cases where the TV was damaged during a thunderstorm, it is better to call a repairman.

Why does my digital TV set-top box show in black and white?

When turned on, the screen shows in black and white - direct evidence of a malfunction of the tuner. Causes of malfunction:

  • the incoming signal is weak and is only enough for picture and sound;
  • poor connection of wires, eliminated by reconnecting the system;
  • When setting up, the wrong mode was set.

A black and white picture occurs when the standard color rendering mode is used.

The channels on the digital set-top box are missing - what to do?

The channels stopped showing after the first connection of the set-top box - all equipment needs to be reconnected. The situation is different when the programs suddenly disappear, in this case the integrity of the wires is checked and a call is made to the provider. In the case when channels 11 to 20 are no longer shown, a repeat search is performed, since the frequency may have changed.

Automatic search

If channels are lost, before calling a technician, you can try to fix the problem yourself by doing automatic setting search. Procedure:

  • go to the main “Menu” via the button on the remote control;
  • from the menu that opens, select “Settings” - “Automatic”;
  • go to the “Search” column and wait for the download to complete.

After completion, 20 channels will become available; if there are failures during the operation or the results are not saved, the programs may be lost.

Manual search

Manual search is more reliable, but requires an introduction additional information. It differs from automatic in that the frequency, speed and broadcast satellite are set manually. Once you have completed entering the information, go to the settings; when selected, click “Manual search”.

What to do if there is no sound on your digital TV set-top box

When you turn it on, you see a picture of a silent movie, which means the sound on the TV is incorrectly configured or the format is not supported. Most channels use stereo sound, some programs support the Dolby format. The solution to the problem is to adjust the audio track.

Standard difficulties in receiving a digital signal

Common problem digital signal is the incompatibility of the tuner and antenna. By choosing an antenna separately from the receiver, you can make a mistake with the range and power. Such incompatibility leads to equipment malfunction and, as a result, complete or partial loss of channels.
