How to increase the sound volume on Android: app rating and manual tuning technique. Eliminate spontaneous volume changes. Programmatic way to solve the problem

To change the factory presets with which the device goes on sale, users use all sorts of tweakers and optimizers. Today, we will tell you how to increase the volume on Android through the engineering menu.

What is the engineering menu?

The engineering menu is a built-in program for fine-tuning and testing the Android OS. In most cases, the manufacturer, after performing the necessary manipulations, removes it or leaves it on the device in a truncated form, suitable only for internal tests in service centers.

The only manufacturer that leaves the engineering menu unchanged is the Taiwanese MediaTek. Therefore, if you are a “happy” owner of a device with an installed MTK processor, you can use it.

How to get into the engineering menu?

Access to the engineering menu is opened by a simple dialing of the code. If you have ever checked the balance on your phone using USSD request- you can assume that the principle is familiar to you. The desired access code is entered using the traditional “dialer”, the “Phone” application, the purpose of which is to dial phone numbers and "asterisks" with "lattices". It looks like this:

*#*#3646633#*#*

In most cases, at the same time as typing the last character, you will be taken to the engineering menu. Some smartphones will require an additional press of the "call" button, creating the complete illusion of a USSD request.

In fact, these settings are akin to Windows registry. You can change any sound parameters with their help, but the user, performing these actions, must be aware of their consequences. Do not increase the volume by more than 10-20%.

Working with sound

Once in the command interface, go to the "Hardware Testing" section, the "Audio" submenu. Here are collected all the settings responsible for increasing the volume. We will assume that before you get into the engineering menu, you decide what you need to do.

Conversation volume

If you think that problems with the audibility of callers during a call are related to the hardware configuration, you need the Normal mode section.

In it, in the Type line, parameters are collected that are responsible for the volume of the conversational speaker:

  • Sip. Responsible for the sound quality when making calls in Internet messengers such as Skype, Viber, Telegram and the like;
  • sp. The speaker that you put to your ear during a call;
  • Sph 2. The second speaker, used in older models.

The Value parameter is responsible for increasing the volume. Next to it are the values that it can take, from min to max. The Level line indicates the level of the value being adjusted. The maximum is usually used, in the screenshot it is the sixth. Before changing the parameters, write down or remember the existing readings so that in case of failure you can return to them. Each action must be confirmed by pressing the Set button to write the manually set value to the device.

If you did not make a mistake in the "diagnosis" and the problem was really hiding in the wrong settings, after rebooting the device, you will receive an increased sound level during a call.

Ringer volume

To increase the volume of the melody speaker incoming call, use the Ring menu. The actions in it are completely similar to those above.

Value is responsible for the overall value, Headset - for the sound that is heard in the headphones during a call. With this setting, you need to be careful not to get an audible “bang” when accepting a call. Set the required values, after saving the default ones. Properly selected indicators will result in a loud and distinct call. But, we remind you, you should not set the maximum values, so as not to damage the speaker or get only wheezing and clanging at the output.

Finally

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in working with the engineering menu. The main thing is the presence of a MediaTek processor in your device and a clear understanding of the consequences of the actions you perform. Otherwise, you will get a non-working device and go to service center.

Not all mobile devices reproduce the sound equally loudly - for some, the ringing sound of the call is too quiet, while for others, the sound switched to the headphones exceeds all permissible limits. How to cope with this imbalance, and equalize the sound? Can this be done without visiting a service center? Let's figure it out.

Any gadgets on the Android OS have such flexible system controls that they can be changed beyond recognition - customized, thereby opening up a wide range of hidden opportunities, and customize any functionality of the system, including sounds. Not all basic assemblies are perfect, sometimes the sound reproduction of the device's speakers does not work correctly - in some applications it can reach the maximum value, while in others it is barely audible. Speakers can be adjusted different ways- both standard and using the menu of special settings or applications.

All devices have a standard key for volume control - usually it is located on the side panel. By clicking on it, you can set the desired parameter. But if this does not suit you, then you can do it from the main settings menu. Here you can make settings for any application, set a ringtone for a particular contact.

To change the default sound, you need to do this:

  1. Open the main settings menu and go to the section "Melodies and Sound";
  2. In the right corner, click on the gear icon - you will find yourself in desired section settings;
  3. Set the desired sound settings.

This will result in the same pitch for all apps and calls. But if you need to change specific values, for example, for incoming voice calls or messages, then you need to do this in the "Sound Profile" section in each of the necessary applications.

Through the functionality of the engineering menu

This method is suitable for advanced users who, in case of failure, will be able to return all the standard settings back. But! Each model has its own commands to call this special settings menu:

  • For models from Samsung: *#*#8255#*#* or *#*#4636#*#* ;
  • For gadgets from NTS: *#*#3424#*#* or *#*#4636#*#* or *#*#8255#*#* ;
  • Combination for Sony devices: *#*#7378423#*#*
  • For devices manufactured by Fly, Alcatel, Philips: *#*#3646633#*#* ;
  • And for gadgets from the manufacturer Huawei, the combination will be: *#*#2846579#*#* ;
  • For MTK devices: *#*#54298#*#* or *#*#3646633#*#* .

After dialing and pressing the dialer button, you get to the engineering menu, where you can adjust the desired parameters.

There are other parameters, but it is better not to touch them at all:

  • Debug Info - system information about possible debugging;
  • Speech Logger - settings for recording conversations, if you activate this position, then in the root folder you can find a file like this: Wed_Jun_2014__07_02_23.vm, indicating the date and time of recording;
  • Audio logger - responsible for finding recorded conversations.

Each of these modes has its own subtle settings, and in order to understand what's what, here is a standard list of Type sound adjustments:

  • Sip - allows you to adjust calls, for example, via Skype;
  • The Mic button is responsible for adjusting the microphone's response;
  • Sph - will allow you to set the desired parameter for the dynamics of conversations, that is, the one that is brought to the ear;
  • Sph2 - this parameter is not available on all devices, but if it is, then it can be used to configure the second conversational speaker;
  • Sid - it is better not to touch this line - otherwise, during a conversation, you can hear only yourself, and not the interlocutor;
  • Media - this is the adjustment of the sound of multimedia files, such as video;
  • Ring - the ability to set the desired volume level for incoming calls;
  • FMR - Responsible for the pitch in the Radio application.

There are several settings to set the desired sound - from level 0 to level 6. With each press, the level increases, and in order to save the set value, it is erased from the cell and a new one is written, which you see during setup. But! Observe the range: it can be between 0 and 255, and the lower the number, the lower the sound will be played. After making changes, press the Set button - it is located on the same line with the cell being changed, and exit the setting by pressing the dial button.

Tips: before changing the default settings, write down all the values on a piece of paper - this can come in handy if you overdo it and set the wrong parameter, for example, playing sounds too low.

Examples

For many users, when recording a video, the sound turns out to be incorrect, that is, either too quiet or loud. To fix this, go to the engineering menu by typing a command for your smartphone (see above):

  1. Go to the LoudSpeaker Mode line (loudspeaker setting);
  2. Set the microphone sensitivity to mic .
  3. Here you can set in the level item, for example, the value 240 . Save the changes with the Set button and exit the menu. You should press this button after each change, do not forget about it!

Using special software

If you don’t want to bother with fine-tuning the device, then you can use special applications. You can find a lot of them both in the Google store and on the Internet. Remarkably, the soundtrack can be increased by about a third, and the speakers will work absolutely fine, without wheezing and tears.

Utilities are recognized as the most popular, and it is best suited for tuning low frequencies.

But the Android OS version must be higher than 2.3, otherwise they will not be able to perform their functions.

Everything is very simple, the software works according to the same principle - an equalizer appears on the screen, where you can desired setting sound.

Now you know how to increase the volume on Android or, if necessary, adjust the sound and speaker sensitivity.

Sound - important characteristic any communication device, because a lot depends on it: sufficient volume allows you not to miss a call, but correct setting microphone - allows the interlocutor to hear you loudly and clearly. But what if the maximum sound volume of the headphones, microphone or speaker is not enough? Sound settings spontaneously change, and the maximum volume rests on the automatic "safe limit"?

There are several ways to increase the sound volume on Android: using standard means sound control, using equalizer programs, as well as through the engineering menu. But first things first.

An easy way to control the sound level in your phone

The fastest way to adjust the volume on an Android device is to use the Volume + and Volume- keys, usually located at the end of the device. They are responsible for the volume of the active mode. If you press the key on the main screen (desktop) - the volume of notifications is adjusted, in the game or the player - the volume of the media. Most often, in the pop-up window with the volume slider, you can select the "More" item (usually looks like a down arrow), and adjust the volume of all possible sounds on the device.

Other settings options are available at: Settings menu, Notifications item. Several standard sound profiles are available to choose from, you can change the “General” profile for yourself.

In the menu, you must select "notifications" The "Notifications" item contains the main sound settings, profiles and notification modes detailed settings"General" profile available
On different device models additional options sound enhancements may vary The number of options, except for the device model, depends on the version of Android

Except default settings, V different versions Android can be found and others useful features: Options for headphone enhancement, speaker boost, surround sound effects, and more.

How to improve the quality and increase the volume of sound using programs

Typically, Android devices have standard applications sound control - equalizers. But if the manufacturer did not bother to add such a program, or the standard one does not meet all the requirements, download from the official application store Play market Dozens of analogues are always available for every taste. Let's consider the main ones.

Volume Booster Plus

When you need to increase the Android volume level, and there is neither time nor desire to go into the engineering menu, the Volume Booster Plus program will come to the rescue. The absence of the Russian language in the interface will not prevent you from using the program: after the first launch, the application will inform you that it will analyze the characteristics of the device and select optimal settings to amplify the sound. To do this: sequentially press the Start (Start) keys, Next (Next) twice, then Boost (Increase), and then wait for the end of the setup process. The result will be a box with the title Success (Successfully). All! The volume of the device is increased 2 by the specified percentage. You can close the application.

Increase ringtone volume with Simple EQ

For detailed sound settings, Equalizer Simple EQ is one of the simplest free equalizers on Android. Increase the volume can be achieved by controlling the frequency sliders 60 Hz, 230 Hz and others. There is also an increase in "bass" and a stereo effect. After the first launch, the program remains running in the background and provides the specified volume level and sound quality in all usage scenarios.

Five levels of frequencies, "bass" and amplification of the stereo sound effect are available for adjustment

You can download the program from its official page in the Android application store - download Equalizer Simple EQ.

How to make a loud call through the engineering menu

The most advanced volume settings are available through the device's engineering menu.

Engineering menu (mode) - special service program on devices with the Android operating system. Developers use it to finalize the device, make last changes, check the work various sensors and perform system testing. The same application serves to receive a large number system information, and among other things - helps to carry out fine tuning sound volume.

It is worth noting that an ignorant user should not walk around within the engineering menu without a clear goal. A careless “poke” or a tick in the wrong place can both format the device and deprive the radio module of the cherished frequencies: the device will stop “catching” the Internet or making calls. But if you do everything according to the instructions and do not deviate from the letter of the manual, you can adjust the sound volume in no time.

You can enter the engineering menu using the service code or through the intermediary program - MTK Engineering Mode (only for devices on the MTK processor).

You can download the program to enter the engineering menu from a device on the MTK processor from its official page in the Android application store - MTK Engineering Mode.

There are several items in the Audio section, we will focus on the first five:

  • Normal Mode - is responsible for the volume level in normal mode, without headphones and other audio devices;
  • Headset Mode - operating mode with a connected headset (headphones, portable speakers and other);
  • LoudSpeaker Mode speakerphone;
  • Headset_LoudSpeaker Mode - speakerphone mode with headset;
  • Speech Enhancement - talk mode (without headset).

Is the music from the speaker not loud enough? Your choice is Normal Mode. Can't hear the interlocutor? Click Speech Enhancement. Does the sound from the game in the headphones wheeze at maximum volume? Headset mode. And so on, according to circumstances.

When we have decided on the mode, by tapping on it we get to the settings page with several values.

Type - the list contains the type of configured equipment, its items mean:

  • Sip - Internet calls volume;
  • Mic - microphone volume;
  • Sph - speaker volume (for talking on the phone);
  • Sph2 - the second conversational speaker (rarity);
  • Sid - do not touch (problems are possible!);
  • Media - media file playback volume (Music, Games, Video);
  • Ring - ring volume level;
  • FMR - FM radio volume.

Next comes the list of volume levels - Level, usually there are seven of them. Each level corresponds to one press of the volume key. Level 0 is the quietest and Level 6 is the loudest signal level. You can also set your own values here, in the input cell opposite the inscription “Value is 0 ~ 255” (the specified limits may differ from device to device). Accordingly, the lower the value in this cell, the lower the volume. After making changes, you must press the Set button and the settings will be saved.

The bottommost in the window will be “Max Vol. 0~160”, the value in the input field is responsible for the maximum possible volume, one for all Level levels.

Attention! Before changing the default settings, overwrite the factory settings or save screenshots (usually you can take a screenshot by pressing the volume down key and the power key at the same time) so that if the change fails, the previous settings will be restored. And also it is highly not recommended to use the maximum values: try to limit yourself to an increase of 10-20 points. Otherwise, the risk of failure of the speaker increases: the appearance of noise, distortion, complete shutdown of the speaker or microphone of the device.

When you have decided on the setting of the required sound mode, you can close the engineering menu and reboot the device, then all changes will be applied.

What to do if the volume limit is turned on - how to remove it

Some device models and versions operating system"Android" contain automatic limitation of the maximum sound volume when headphones are connected or the volume is increased above a certain value, in this case, you can use the Volume Boost program or its analogue. It is enough to install, run, and in the Settings tab check the box next to Auto Start (it will allow the application to load automatically and always work in the background). There you can also check the box and activate the “widget” for managing the application, and by placing it on the desktop, you can independently turn on and off the volume limit so as not to keep the program always active.

Eliminate spontaneous volume changes

Sometimes users are faced with a rare problem of spontaneous switching of the volume level, this can be caused by several factors:

  • Most often, this problem is found in owners of too "smart" Samsung devices or HTC, as well as little-known oriental brands. First of all, in the menu "Settings"\u003e "Sound" you need to check the presence of the item "auto volume control". The name may differ and contain phrases: in a case, in a pocket, on a table. If you have problems with sound - try to start by disabling such options.
  • Owners of old models Samsung smartphones, such as the Galaxy S4, can detect malicious settings at: Settings > My Device > Calls > Ring Loudly in Bag.
  • Also, similar settings can be in the menu "Settings"\u003e " Special abilities”and be called: Smart Case, Auto Volume, Pocket Mode.
  • If the device is equipped with a protective bumper or case, it will not be superfluous to check if the physical sound control keys are sticking.

But remember! If on your device, when you connect a headset (headphones, portable speakers), the inscription “safe limitation” appears and reduces the maximum volume, this limitation is set by the manufacturer for a reason. First of all, we are talking about the health of the one who uses the headset. Take care of your hearing.

On the pages of our sites, we have already described how on an Android device. It may be needed if you need to change any parameters, including the volume of your smartphone. Next, you will learn what and where to change.

We immediately draw your attention to the fact that you perform all actions at your own peril and risk, the editors are not responsible for your actions, since the probability of clicking in the wrong place or adjusting something is not very small, but still there. Be careful. If you have never dealt with the engineering menu before, ask someone who has already dealt with volume control programmatically to help you!

Instruction

First you need to get into the engineering menu. We will show an example on a smartphone based on MTK (MediaTek) processor. In the smartphone, dial *#*#3646633#*#* (the last character is not in the screenshot, because the engineering menu immediately opens and it will not work to take a screenshot).

Codes for entering the engineering menu on other devices (operability has not been tested):
