Setting up iPhone step by step

When you start your new iPhone or iPad for the first time, before the iOS desktop appears on its screen, you will need to carry out its initial setup, namely:

connect your device to a wireless network ();
enable or disable location services(you cannot skip this step, you will have to choose);
set up iPhone as new or restored from a saved file or on your local computer;
enter your Apple ID or create a new one (you can skip this step);
accept the Terms of Use(Necessarily);
create a fingerprint using Touch ID and set a lock password(you can configure it later);
specify whether or not to send diagnostic and usage data to Apple(must be selected).

Selecting a Wi-Fi network

If you are within range of a wireless network with Internet access, connect your device to a Wi-Fi network. This will make it possible to restore the device from backup copy stored in iCloud (not relevant for new devices).

Geolocation

Here you can turn on or off location services, which allow Maps and similar apps to collect information about your geographic location.

Apple ID

Terms of use

If you have an iPhone 5s or any other device with Touch ID, do not be lazy to create a fingerprint to unlock the device and authorize in the App Store.
In case you cut yourself and Touch ID cannot identify your fingerprint, set a lock password and be sure to remember it; resetting it is quite difficult.
Initial setup can be left for later, skip connecting to Wi-Fi, select Turn off Location Services, set up as a new iPhone, skip the Apple ID sign-in step, accept the Terms of Service, select Set up later Touch ID, do not add a lock password, Disable sending diagnostic data to Apple.
