Create a new string parameter in the Run section. In the main application menu, click on the "Edit" item, in the child menu, select the "New" item, and then click on the "String parameter" item.

Rename the parameter you just created. Right-click on the "New Option # 1" line in the right pane of the Registry Editor. Select "Rename" in the context menu. Enter a new parameter name that is more descriptive of the application added to autostart. Press Enter to commit your changes.

Enable autostart of the program. Change the value of the added parameter. Double-click the left mouse button on the line with the name entered in the previous step. The Change String Parameter window opens. In the "Value" field of this window, enter the command that should run the program. You need to enter the full path (with the drive name) to the executable module, the name of the module, as well as its launch parameters. Click the "OK" button.

Check the correctness of the changes. Close the registry editor. Restart your computer. Make sure that desired program starts up.

To find out which applications have already been added to startup via the Start menu, select Startup, click the arrow icon and expand the entire list of startup programs and utilities.

If the icon of the application that you want to add to startup is already in the Start menu, move the mouse cursor over it. While holding down left button mouse, drag the icon to the "Startup" item. When the icon is in place, release the left mouse button.

If you want the icon to be both in the "Start" menu bar and in the "Startup" field, right-click on the required icon and select "Create shortcut" from the drop-down menu. Drag the just created shortcut to the startup window using the method described in the second step. When the icon is in place, right-click on it and select the "Rename" command from the drop-down menu. Remove the extra designation "(2)" from the application name, confirm the changes.

If the icon you want is not on the Start menu bar, open the Startup folder on the operating system disk. It is located at C: (or another drive with the operating system) / Documents and Settings / User name / Main menu / Programs / Startup. Copy the shortcut to the launch file of the application you need to the folder that opens. The icon will automatically appear in the Start menu bar.

To remove an application from Startup, remove the icon from the Startup folder on your hard drive or in the Start menu. You can also remove (or add) an application through the settings of the application itself, if this option is provided by the developers.

Add the program to startup using its internal settings. To do this, go to the "Service" menu of the program, or "Settings". Usually, startup is located in the "General" tab (section).

Next, find the item "Start at system boot" or "Autostart from Windows", check the box next to this item. In English versions of programs, this option may be called Start with Windows, or Autostart.
