Surely this can happen to anyone: a letter comes by mail with an attached file of an exotic format. If the letter came to personal Computer or laptop, no problem - converting the file will be easy, but what if you only have a smartphone at hand?

CloudConvert is a free online file converter launched recently with a number of interesting features... The service can be used even without additional registration. However, in this case there will be restrictions on the number of files. They can only be processed 10 per day. If this is not enough, registration is required.

Situated this service on CloudConvert.com (see Figure 8). The interface language is English. Cloudconvert is free if you don't make more than 25 conversions per day. For most users, this will be more than enough. Registered users have access to 25 transitions per day, the maximum file size should not exceed 1024 MB. A detailed list of restrictions is available on the registration page for the service. In addition to the standard registration by e-mail, it is also possible to register using social networks... Choose from Google+, Twitter and Facebook (see Figure 9). If you use any of them, you can log in account this or that social network.

CloudConvert's workflow is very simple and fits in three simple steps... First, you must specify the file you want to convert on your hard drive or Dropbox, Google Drive (see Figure 10).

Then you need to select the desired format and adjust the conversion options, if available. After all the necessary settings, it remains only to click “Start Convertation” and wait for the end of the process. In this case, you can close the browser window and check the box "notify the end of conversion by e-mail", and then in 5-10 minutes you will be sent to mailbox letter with notification and link to download the file. Thus, you can set the file to convert both on a PC and on a mobile device.

The list of all file formats supported by the service is located in the top tab “Conversion Types” (see Figure 11) - the list of formats is divided into subsections with file types (video, audio, sound, etc.), which is convenient.

For this diploma project, a 130 MB .flv video file was selected for conversion to another video format (.mov) and the resolution was changed to 320x240 pixels.

As you can see in Figure 12, the video file can also be converted to a presentation, or to sound file (delete the image and leave only the audio track of the original file).

After selecting the final file format, a button for calling the conversion parameters window appears (see Figure 13) in the form of a wrench.

The conversion options window itself is shown in Figure 14. Here you can edit the video quality, video aspect ratio, video resolution, select the sound quality, and more.

After clicking the "Start Convertation" button, the file is uploaded to the server for its subsequent processing. The state of readiness to download and process the file is shown on the corresponding bar (see Figure 15).

After conversion to email a message arrives with a notification that the conversion was successful, with a link to download the file (see Figure 16).

Total time spent on setting up the conversion, the process itself and downloading the file to the computer: 10 minutes.
