What did not like

I think that everything is ok, you just need to initially really evaluate what you buy, and not wait for a super sophisticated device for little money.

What we liked

There is 3G, the tablet can make calls, works as a navigator, convenient size, good screen, you can put micro sd, works stably

What did not like

In general, they fitted me this tablet, given that I rummage in all smarts and tablets - I took this body for the first time in my hands. Well, I think I’ll skip all the introductions on samsa or lenovo and then I’ll set it up as it should, but what was my amazement when I stuck after setting the date and time on the parameter "activate the promo code of google drive")))) and then the tablet did not want to let me in, even when I activated it, without saying that I went through all the registrations + even regained some kind of asus account)))). In general, I will carry it back to the store, I will change it, for something else, but when I saw that they drove it to me, I immediately said to the trash))). PS, spent 35 minutes without running the tablet until the end))

What did not like

The RAM is really only 1 GB, but with the timely cleaning of the cache I don't see any problems at all.

What we liked

I really like the sound quality, it really looks like a surround. The image is also very high quality, the screen has a normal viewing angle, IPS, the color rendition is normal, the sharpness and brightness of the image are adjusted depending on the ambient light. The charge is enough for 8-10 hours, depending on the load. It is possible to make calls, you can use it as a two-SIM phone. It works without slowdowns and freezes. ZenUi and Android Lollipop.

What did not like

ANTUTU dialed 20800 very badly, I was upset. Although this may be due to the fact that
percent 64b and android 32b. can be updated later. But so far it's really hard for him from 5.

There are not many of them yet. (((If you ask anyone questions, I will try to answer everyone.

What did not like

Suddenly discharges quickly. In 10 minutes, it can gobble up 30% of the charge. At the same time, there was no third-party software, everything was standard. Even in standby mode, it can also be completely discharged. After such a complete discharge, after connecting to the outlet, it comes to its senses only after a few minutes, and so it lies in no way to glow, but it does not react.

Cons: When you click on the icons, the applications open thoughtfully, 1.2, and sometimes three seconds, while the waiting wheel can spin in the center of the screen, the same with closing them (in the store I did not pay attention to this, but then I felt the difference, which is of course unusual in comparison with the speed of the smartphone to which I am used to, where everything was opened in a split second.
While studying the filling, the battery charge began to melt before our eyes. When the charging was connected, the charge went very slowly, so the owner of this tablet was regularly tied to the outlet, but taking into account this drawback, the cord coming in the kit is unfortunately too short.
The cover of the tablet is made of a boat - with strongly rounded edges, for this reason it slipped out of the hand, it's good that it is on the bed, so you need to hold it tightly, clinging to the upper edges with your fingertips, this is not very convenient given its width this model calculated on the fact that the tablet can be used as a phone, as evidenced by the presence of ports for two SIM cards.
Not all the desired applications from the playmarket were installed correctly, for example, the bubble in the construction levels clearly mowed to the side when the tablet was directly horizontal, and their screenshots were unnaturally stretched to the sides. No compass worked at all. But this is all true, it is not particularly important, although for that kind of money (8390 rubles) some other sensors could be supplied besides the accelerometer. In the morning, the ASUS tablet froze while opening the "applications" section and so, with the screen on, it lay for about two hours, not responding to any buttons, then it turned off itself, after turning it on it works.

What we liked

The first tablet and first impressions are good. Pros: Nice to the touch, the screen is bright and clear, there are enough dots per inch, although they could have added a little, because when the font size is increased, a slight turbidity is visible along the upper edge of the letters). Liked what it's worth latest version android - 5.0, with the possibility of updating, which I did by downloading somewhere 320mb. up to 5.0.2.

RAM 1 GB. You have to keep an eye on clearing the cache so that it doesn't slow down.

What we liked

It is possible to call and send SMS from it, a slot for 2 SIM cards. Very good quality sound, DTS-HD Premium Sound. Processor 4 core Quad-Core, it works stably for me, without glitches. The screen with protection against smudging with fingers, with good resolution, multitouch, responsive to touches, does not heat up, responds to touches immediately without delay. Does not heat up or freeze. Very lightweight and not large in size. Android with Asus shell.

If you are going on a long trip and already at the stage of preparation you are beginning to be tormented by the issue of Internet access, then perhaps you should consider buying an inexpensive device to access the network. An inexpensive tablet with a modem is best suited for this purpose. And the Asus ZenPad C 7.0 was created for just such a purpose.

Due to the increased dollar exchange rate, many users no longer imagine that a tablet for 9,000 rubles can turn on at all. But if you want something more, prepare to lay out exactly the same amount. This fact must be considered before reading each paragraph from this review. Interesting fact: Along with ASUS ZenPad C 7.0, the Taiwanese company also introduced a more sophisticated seven-inch tablet ASUS ZenPad 7.0. The screen resolution is slightly higher and the camera is more powerful. However, this device will be discussed next time. At the time of release this review the modification has not yet been officially presented in Russia. For now, just be careful when buying. This article will focus on ASUS ZenPad C 7.0. Let's get to know the device.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: specifications

The device is equipped with a seven-inch display with a pixel density of 169.5 dpi and a resolution of 1024 × 600. The tablet uses a capacitive screen that supports up to ten touches simultaneously. Oleophobic coating touch screen missing, there is a polarizing filter. As a processor in ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 there is an Intel Atom x3-C323RK four cores with a frequency of 1 GHz. The processor is made according to the 28 nm technological process, supports both 32-bit and 64-bit calculations.

The device uses ARM Mali-450 MP4 as a graphics controller. The amount of RAM is 1 GB. The amount of flash memory in various modifications is 8 or 16 GB. You can further expand this volume by using microSD drives (up to 64 GB). The tablet has Micro-USB, MicroSD, Micro-SIM connectors and a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Tablet supports cellular communication format 2G and 3G. Also installed in the tablet Wi-Fi modulewhich operates on the 802.11 b / g / n standard at 2.4 GHz. The main camera of the tablet has the following characteristics: 1.9 megapixels, 1600 × 1200, no flash and autofocus. A non-removable battery with a capacity of 13 Wh is used as a battery. The official cost of ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 is 8990 rubles.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: ergonomics and appearance

In terms of appearance ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 is a fairly standard seven-inch compact tablet. The device has practically no characteristic features, the only exception is back cover saturated red color. The device is quite light, its weight is a little more than 250 g. Hands do not get tired when working with the tablet. ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 fits easily into an additional pocket of a backpack or bag without taking up much space. There are no hardware keys on the front panel of the device. The tablet has virtual navigation buttons "Home", "Menu" and "Back". In the upper part of the front panel there is a 0.3 megapixel front camera lens, as well as a speaker cutout.

The main material in ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 is plastic. The tablet has a textured "back", thanks to which the device does not slip even in wet hands. Back panel the tablet is colored bright red. This solution looks very good. It is due to the interesting back panel that the tablet looks more expensive than it actually is. There are also options in white, gray and black.

The 2MP camera lens is located on the rear panel. Here are also the connectors for two Micro-SIM and Micro SD memory cards.
The connectors are hidden behind a hard plastic cover with a lock. Cards are installed in the slots quite easily. In order not to confuse where to put this or that card, you can use a special marking engraving.

The device is completely standard in terms of ergonomics. It's pretty easy to get used to it. The controls are located on traditional Android devices places. On the right side there are off and volume control keys. These buttons have a short and quite distinct stroke. The Micro-USB interface is located at the bottom end. At the top there is a universal 3.5 mm audio output. In general, this is all right.

It is worth noting that the gadget is quite fragile. There is a slight lack of rigidity when pressing firmly on the devices. On the back panel, plastic is punctured, stains appear on the matrix. This means only one thing, the device should be handled very carefully and carefully.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: display

It is quite natural that the budget tablet also got a budget display. Engineers asus decided that a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels would be quite sufficient for a seven-inch screen. By modern standards, the pixel density of the display is somewhat small - only 169.5 dpi. For a couple of years, users have become accustomed to 250-300 ppi. Such density has already begun to be perceived as something familiar and commonplace. Roughly speaking, everyone has long lost the habit of low resolution.

Due to the fact that the distance at which the user's eyes are from the tablet is large enough, the pictures on the display do not creep into separate points. But even from a distance, it is noticeable that the image on the ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 screen turns out to be somewhat friable. Small fonts on such a screen will be blurry, and the multimedia content will not have enough detail. Separate points are clearly visible on contrasting transitions and on white. In general, the pixelation effect is too pronounced. Periodically, this distracts the user's attention.

Considering such features of the screen, then it probably makes sense to be glad that the matrix of the tablet is made not using TN technology, but using IPS. However, the screen has rather wide viewing angles - the picture loses contrast when the eyes are diverted. The black color then becomes dark purple.

This drawback is quite common with inexpensive matrices. But the monitor display is quite responsive. It responds precisely to any touch. However, when typing quickly on virtual keyboard it can slow down a little. Most likely the problem here lies not in the screen, but in the computing subsystem. The device recognizes gestures without any problems. In total, the tablet recognizes up to ten simultaneous clicks. The tablet also reacts to touch when wearing thin gloves. But he does not recognize pressing in mittens.

It is also interesting that an inexpensive matrix fully meets all the requirements for the correct design of displays. There is no air gap between the front panel and the matrix, in addition, there is an oleophobic coating, which helps to quickly remove dirt from the screen surface. There is also a polarizing filter that prevents sun fading. All these features are typical for more expensive models of tablet computers. In the budget segment, such devices are extremely rare. However, this is very important, the convenience of using the device directly depends on such little things.

The tablet has a moderate margin of brightness. The maximum luminosity of the white field is 319 cd / m2, and minimum value - 16 cd / m2. The backlight has fairly wide borders. Thanks to this, the device can be used in any light without straining the eyes. However, the display still fades a little in bright sunlight. The polarizing filter in this case does not cope with its task, which means that it is not very effective. Information at the maximum brightness level continues to be readable. It is a pity that the device lacks a light sensor and cannot automatically raise the backlight level.

At maximum brightness, the luminance of the black field on the display tablet ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 remains within the normal range - 0.46 cd / m2. In the case of a 100% backlight level, the black color will lose some of its saturation, but it will still look quite convincing. The contrast of the screen is not too high - 693-1. However, this is quite enough for a budget tablet.

The color temperature of the tablet is not set correctly. On average, it turns out to reach the cherished 6500 K, however, the temperature is either slightly higher or lower than the reference value. The deviations are too small. It is not always possible to notice them. I would like to believe that in latest updates software the developers will fix this defect.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0, as well as older devices from Asus, uses the proprietary utility Splendid. With this utility, you can adjust the screen color to suit your preferences and tastes. I would like to note that such an opportunity for budget gadgets is quite rare. So the user can independently adjust the color gamut, make the picture colder, or vice versa, warmer, and also increase the color saturation programmatically.

However, even in standard balanced mode, the picture on the tablet is pretty good. The gamma curves of red and blue colors are somewhat raised in relation to the reference curve along its entire length. This deviation is very insignificant, so it can be safely ignored. In general, the ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 screen has a pretty decent color reproduction. The only significant drawback of the ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 display is its low resolution. Before buying a device, it is better to look into some electronics store and hold the gadget in your hands. This is the only way you can understand whether you are ready for such a resolution or not.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: performance

Intel recently presented new mobile systems-on-a-chip. Then three new families of the Atom series were announced. These are x7, x5 and x3. Families, as you might guess, were given by analogy with Core i7, i5, i3. Thus, x3 is a family of chips for budget devices, x5 are intended for medium-sized gadgets. price categoryand x7 for flagship models. Single-chip systems-on-a-chip were created as part of the SoFIA program. The goal of this program is to reduce the cost of tablets and smartphones. It is planned to expand the functionality of these devices and bring them to the market through cooperation with leading manufacturers. These chips are designed for devices that range from $ 75 to $ 150.

At the time of this writing, the Atom x3 family includes five systems-on-a-chip. Two of them were presented relatively recently. Let's briefly describe each system.

1. Atom x3-C3130. The most affordable chip in this series. The chip is designed to be installed in budget smartphones for the markets of developing countries. The chip has two 64-bit cores with a frequency of 1 GHz, an integrated 3G modem and a Mali 400 MP2 graphics accelerator.
2. Atom x3-C3230RK. This chip is installed in ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 tablets. According to Intel, this chip outperforms Qualcomm MSM8212 and MediaTek MT6582 by 1.5 times in performance. This chip was created in partnership with the Chinese manufacturer RockChip.
3. Atom x3-C3440. This is the most mature solution in the family and is also designed for low-cost devices. The platform includes four cores that run at 1.4 GHz, a Mali T720 MP2 graphics chip, as well as an NFC communication module and an LTE modem.
4. Atom x3-C3445. This platform the characteristics are as close as possible to the x3-C3405. However, the version with the number C3445 provides lTE support Cat. 6.

The device we are reviewing runs on the Intel Atom x3-C3230RK platform, which was developed in partnership with the Chinese manufacturer RockChip. The platform uses four cores that operate at a frequency of 1.2 GHz. In ASUS ZenPad C 7.0, the frequency has been reduced to a very modest 1.0 GHz. Most likely this was done in order to save energy. At this point, it becomes apparent that the C323RK was not designed to handle demanding tasks. This platform supports 32 and 64 bit computing. A platform for 28 nm technological process has been completed. ARM Mali-450 MP4 is used as a graphics controller.

The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 tablet has a little RAM - 1 GB. However, this is quite enough for solving multimedia tasks: when switching between applications, the gadget practically does not think. The amount of built-in flash memory depends on the modification and is eight or sixteen GB. The amount of disk space, if necessary, can be expanded using micro SD memory cards, as well as by using cloud technologies... It is worth noting that all buyers of Asus tablets and smartphones receive 5 GB on the Asus WebStorage service. Also, the owners of ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 get 100 GB a google service Drive. So they are unlikely to have to complain about the lack of memory.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 shows average results in synthetic tests. In the general AnTuTu Benchmark 5 test, the tablet scored only 20 thousand, which is relatively small by modern standards. So do not rely on a high level of device performance.

On the other hand, ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 copes quite well even with the launch of some toys. This is most likely due to the low screen resolution. It is much easier for him to quickly "draw" the desired picture than in Full HD. For this reason, using ASUS ZenPad C 7.0, you can easily watch movies on the Internet and play casual arcade games. However, the gadget will not handle heavy three-dimensional games even with the minimum graphics settings. It would be foolish to expect something more from a gadget worth 9,000 rubles.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: wireless interfaces and communication

Please note that the Atom x3 may come with or without an integrated 3G / 4G modem. Thanks to these features, manufacturers mobile device can create different versions devices - only with Wi-Fi or with support for Wi-Fi and 3G. The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 tablet has a modification that can access the Internet using mobile networks. The internal number of this modification is Z170CG. The tablet only supports 2G and 3G networks, with networks fourth generation the tablet does not know how to work yet.

But the device can simultaneously install two SIM cards. Working with SIM cards is organized in the usual way. The user can set in the settings from which SIM card he will call and send messages, and from which one to go online. But talking on the tablet, despite its rather compact size, is not very convenient - it's better to use a headset after all. However, the conversation option itself can be useful in the event that the main communication device is discharged or remains at home. The tablet keeps the connection to the network quite stable and does not lose it for no apparent reason.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 has a fairly standard set of interfaces. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n at 2.4 GHz, as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Also, a radio module is installed in the tablet, which can communicate with GPS and Glonass satellites. The radius of navigation error is quite large - 20-25 m. The tablet may well be used as a car navigator.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: battery life

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 uses a 13 Wh non-removable battery. Not very large capacity for a seven-inch gadget based on operating system Android. However, some gadgets cannot boast of this either. Considering that ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 does not have a very voracious system-on-a-chip, and the screen has a low resolution, then you can count on acceptable time autonomous work gadget. During testing, the gadget lasted more than six hours in video playback mode at maximum screen brightness settings.

There are several power consumption scenarios in the tablet settings. There is a saving mode, customizable and optimized. The first option limits the maximum processor frequency, disables some unused options and dims the screen backlight. In fact, in the custom mode, the same thing happens, however, the user independently determines which application activity should be limited and how much to reduce the screen brightness.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0: camera

The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 tablet has a rather modest set of cameras: front-camera with a resolution of 0.3 megapixels and 2 megapixel rear. Good quality pictures are obtained only in daylight. Even in a well-lit room, a photo is obtained with a fairly large layer of noise. In general, the cameras in the tablet are more for show than for real use. You can only rely on them as a last resort. However, you should not count on special quality.

Conclusion

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 is a budget tablet option. This is not a very powerful device and is definitely not suitable for hobbyists. computer games...
