This problem brings a lot of trouble to users for whom access to the Internet is important. You are unlikely to be able to cope with the breakdown on your own.

Why doesn't Wi-Fi work on Nokia?

Now we will consider the possible options:

- WiFi stopped working on Nokia, if the antenna itself is damaged. Here it is necessary to remember whether any mechanical damage occurred during operation. This is a fairly important point, since the part is very fragile and one inattentive movement can damage it. In this case, only after replacing the antenna is it possible to resume operation;

- doesn't see or catch WiFi network on Nokia, if the WiFi module is damaged. In this case, it will also be necessary to make a replacement to resume operation. This malfunction is caused by falls and moisture. One inattentive movement by the owner will lead to the need to seek help from a specialist. You should not try to fix your phone yourself. Replacing a module is a rather complicated operation, only professionals can do it;

- does not connect, says no WiFi on Nokia, when a software failure occurs. It is on this basis that the telephone operates. Replacement software can help in this case.

Why doesn't Bluetooth work on Nokia?

If Bluetooth does not work on Nokia, you can try to reboot the phone, remove battery And sim card. If these actions did not help, then the reason may lie in the following:

The Bluetooth antenna was damaged as a result of the fall. It will be possible to resume operation of the device only after replacement, since it cannot be repaired;

- Bluetooth does not work on Nokia, if damaged bluetooth module. You need to contact our service center where will they make the replacement? of this module Nokia;

- Nokia does not find Bluetooth, if a software failure occurs.

It also brings a lot of inconvenience to users if Vibration does not work on Nokia. You can try going into the sound settings and try to fix the problem yourself. If this is not the reason, Vibrator on Nokia is missing and does not work, then you need to contact our service center for help, where they will determine what caused the breakdown and, if necessary, make a replacement.

Why doesn't the camera work on Nokia?

You have problem with the camera it does not open on Nokia? It most often fails from mechanical damage and moisture. Users complain that it does not open or is blurry, which prevents them from taking pictures. The problems may be as follows:

Mobile operating system Windows Phone It is now very actively developing, and it’s hard to argue with that. I also have a Windows Phone (Nokia Lumia 925), and I am very pleased with it. To be honest, I'm tired of Android, I want something new. But this article is not about my Lumia, and not about which OS is better. Phones on this operating system They work stably, and in terms of accessing the Internet via Wi-Fi, everything is just as good.

For example, over several months I have not noticed a single problem in which Nokia Lumia would not want to connect to Wi-Fi, or the Internet would not work.

But, as I noticed, various questions appear about the problems that still arise when trying to connect a Windows Phone to Wi-Fi, or after connecting. Typically, these are problems when a connection to a wireless network is established, but sites on the phone do not open. Or, for example, when Nokia Lumia does not see Wi-Fi network. And he doesn’t see only one, the desired network, and sees the neighbors.

In this article, we will try to figure out why problems may arise with connecting a Windows Phone to wireless networks, and how to solve these problems. On at the moment, WP 8 version (I will show this version as an example), an update to Windows Phone 8.1 will be released soon. Perhaps there will be some changes in working with wireless networks.

Windows Phone connects to Wi-Fi, but the Internet does not work

This is probably the most popular problem. And as a rule, it is not the smartphone that is to blame for this problem, but the access point (router) itself. You connect your phone to the network, I wrote how to do this in this article, it connects (status: connection established), but when you try to open a website in the browser, an error appears: “The page cannot be displayed”. Applications such as VKontakte, Twitter, Skype cannot access the Internet.

How to check what's wrong?

It’s very simple, if you connect other devices to your router via Wi-Fi, and the Internet works fine on them, then the problem is most likely in the phone (Nokia Lumia). But, if the Internet does not work on other devices, then the problem is in the router. It may not be configured correctly. In this case, see this article “Without Internet access” - we will solve the main reason. Setting it up Wi-Fi router to work with the provider. Or they simply forgot to pay for the Internet.

How to fix the problem?

First, restart your Windows Phone smartphone, and a router.

If the problem persists, then it’s worth checking whether you accidentally turned on manual settings proxy servers. This problem occurs very often on Android devices.

Go to Wi-Fi settings and click on your network. In the menu, select “ Change“. Make sure that the function “ Proxy server” was turned off.

Try connecting your phone to a different network and see how it works with it.

Problems connecting Windows Phone to Wi-Fi

Most often, problems appear when trying to connect to a wireless network.

Another popular mistake is the incorrectly specified password for the wireless network. I immediately advise you to remember your password using one of the methods from this article. If you enter the password incorrectly when connecting, the connection will take a very long time at first, and then a message will appear that to connect to the network, you need to enter the password again.

It may also be that your phone does not like the type of security that is set in your router settings. You can try changing your password and other security settings, here are the instructions.

When a smartphone cannot obtain an IP address

Typically, routers themselves distribute IP addresses and have a DHCP server enabled. But it happens that DHCP is disabled for some reason (when, for example, IP is manually registered on devices). Honestly, I haven’t found how to manually register an IP address on Windows Phone 8. I think that in Windows Phone 8.1 this problem will be fixed.

If your phone is unable to obtain an IP, you will most likely see an error something like: “The phone cannot connect to the Wi-Fi network because the network is not responding. Please try again later". Or, next to the name of the network, there will simply be an inscription “protected”.

You need to check if the DHCP server is enabled in the router settings. If not, then turn it on. I wrote how to do this in a separate article. See after the heading “Checking whether the DHCP server is enabled on the Wi-Fi router.”

You can also try changing the operating mode in which your wireless network operates. Try, for example, just n, or g.

Nokia Lumia does not see Wi-Fi network

When I write Nokia Lumia, I mean any phone on Windows Phone, well, you understand.

I highlighted a problem on some forum that Lumia (I don’t remember exactly which model) did not see the home wireless network. It simply wasn't on the list of networks available for connection. The problem is not uncommon and can occur on any device.

I even wrote a separate article on this issue. The laptop (phone, tablet) does not see home Wi-Fi network (sees neighboring ones), read it.

So, in the case of an operating system from Microsoft, I would also advise changing the channel on which the router broadcasts your wireless network. How to do this is written in detail here. Since it is interference on the channel that usually causes such problems. Try some static channel, not Auto mode. And don't put the channel higher than 12th.

Afterword

It seems like I wrote about all the popular problems. If you have encountered any other problem with the Internet via Wi-Fi on Windows Phone, or know any new solutions to the problems described above, you can share useful information in the comments. Don't be lazy

The network of hot spots is conquering megacities at a very rapid pace. IN modern world Interest in Wi-Fi-based services from the point of view of earning money is presented in various public places, such as computer clubs, restaurants, airports, libraries, and shopping centers. Access to this kind of networks can be paid or free, the difference between them is in the quality of services and connection speed. In this review you will learn a lot of useful things, namely how to connect wifi to nokia.

With the help of technology such as Wi-Fi it is possible to:

  • When playing a game, connect, for example, not one, but more games.
  • Gain access to the computer system.
  • Connect to Windows, Linux.
  • Connect to the Internet.
  • Download files.
  • View videos and music files.

How to set up wifi on nokia

There are two WLAN connections:

  1. In an open access point (hotspot).
  2. At home or at work.

Each network has its own name. Correctly it is called SSID. If you have access, in other words, an Access Point device (later called AP), which sends a network signal to devices every 10 times per second. A device that can receive such information has, in principle, connectivity (more on security later).

Joining a public hotspot using Nokia is not at all difficult. Use both built-in and additional software. In order to check whether you have Wi-Fi, a connection manager is suitable, in the “Available WLAN” item the found networks are shown, and protected points are shown with icons with a lock.

In general, everything is not so complicated: the phone picked up the AP signal, then displayed on the screen the name of the network, having made a choice, then you can use the Internet, provided that the AP administrator has not made any confusion in the configurations.

If the hotspot is paid, then when you try to join you will be asked to enter a password, which you need to find out from the owner of the Internet. Naturally, if you do not enter it, there will be no connection to the Internet.

With a Nokia phone there are three ways to see the network:

  1. We connect in the WLAN settings. When connecting the settings in this way, a symbol will be displayed with four squares. Sometimes, it is possible to see which network and what its name is with the second method.
  2. We go to the menu and look for the connection manager, where the WLAN input is located. There you will see what network, signal strength, protection, speed.
  3. When we log into the network, we are asked about using an access point. In the menu there is Search for a WLAN network; after making a selection, we get access to the list of networks.

When the network is in frequent use It’s not worth searching for it and entering security keys. We add a WLAN network in the form of a regular access point.

Given that the network is wireless, radio waves are used in this case. Various devices operating nearby in various networks, allows a range of 11 channels. These channels, where the AP does its work, can be changed. The channels used do not affect the network, everything happens automatically. There are two notes:

  • Networks that are on an adjacent channel sometimes cause interference.
  • Different devices have different sensitivity, which is determined by the quality of work. As a rule, devices receiving a signal are configured to operate on the sixth channel, that is, the middle one. Because of this, on the first and eleventh the quality of the network is somewhat worse.

To easily and quickly turn WiFi on and off, we advise you to download the ConnectivityShortcuts program from the market.

In addition to Wifi, this program switches to airplane mode and Bluetooth.

We hope that we helped you set up wifi on your nokia phone.

Enjoy using the wireless Internet!

This article is dedicated to wireless technology WI-FI(Wi-Fi or Wireless Fidelity - “wireless precision”), which gives us many different possibilities when using it. Besides general information Below we will also describe how to connect a smartphone using this wireless technology.

General information

Standard WiFi was developed by the company "Wi-Fi Alliance" back in 1991, and its creator is Vic Hayes. Initially WiFi was developed as a standard for cash service systems and provided reception/transmission speeds of up to 2 megabits per second.

Currently, commercial access to Wi-Fi-based services is provided in various public places: computer clubs, cafes, restaurants, airports, libraries, sometimes shopping centers, etc.

With the help of technology WiFi Can:

  • Play games by connecting, for example, several game consoles.
  • Access file system paired computer.
  • Connect to Windows, Linux, Macintosh.
  • Connect to the Internet.
  • Download files.
  • Stream video/music files to compatible computers, music centers etc.
Connection instructions Nokia smartphone to a Wi-Fi network.

There are two WLAN connection options:
1. In open access points (they are also called hot spots).
2. At home or at work.

New Nokia phones support the following networks:

  • 802.11b is a network with the maximum data transfer speed (11 Mbit/s).
  • 802.11g + extensions for IP telephony are networks with data transfer rates of up to 54 Mbit/s.
802.11b is not very different from 802.11g and is backward compatible, i.e. apparatus, having on board g, can connect to a standard device b .
There is a bad nuance: the indicated speeds, unfortunately, are really unattainable.
Firstly, service information takes up more space than useful information. For example, even on a computer maximum speed 802.11g can be 24 Mbit/sec (this means real data transfer, Windows shows 54 Mbit/sec).
Secondly, our phones are not the most advanced devices, not with the fastest memory and chipsets, so 4 Mbit/sec of real data transfer is already a joy.
To begin with, every network must have Name. It is correctly called SSID. If we have an access point, i.e. physical device Access Point(hereinafter will be indicated as AP), then it constantly (usually 10 times per second) reports information about the network to all devices. A device capable of catching such a signal “sees” the network and theoretically can connect to it (more about security later).

In a word, everything is simple: the phone caught the AP signal and displays the name of the network on the screen, you can select it and just enjoy the Internet, unless, of course, the AP administrator messed up anything in the configurations. If the network is secure, the phone will ask you to enter a security key. Accordingly, if you do not enter it, there will be no connection to the network.

IN Nokia phones The network can be viewed in three ways:

Since our network is wireless, it therefore uses radio waves. In order for different devices to operate in the same area on different networks, the range is divided into 11 channels. Theoretically, devices on different channels do not interfere with each other, but in practice they do.

Governments different countries The 2.4 GHz band has already been allocated for free (unlicensed) use. But in different countries the range may be slightly reduced. For example, in the USA there are no 10 and 11 channels. In Japan there are as many as 13. Therefore, equipment from different countries cannot always work with each other. Although, everything is not so scary. The channels on which the AP operates can be changed. The operation of the network is practically not affected by which channel is used - all coordination occurs automatically. There are only 2 points:

  • Networks located on adjacent channels may cause interference.
  • U different devices Different sensitivity (and, accordingly, quality of work) is possible on different channels. Usually antennas and receivers are designed to work on channel 6, because it is average. Accordingly, on channels 1 and 11 the quality of the network is slightly worse.
About the quality of reception.
AP, among other things, also reports the transmitter power, thanks to which the phone determines the signal quality. Usually, if the quality is above 50%, then everything will work fine, but sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes everything works even at 20%. This depends on many factors, primarily on the antennas. On APs, the antennas are usually external and stick out; this undoubtedly improves the quality of reception both by the AP itself and by the client. In a phone, the role of an antenna is played by a small thing inside the case. This answers many questions regarding the quality of work and coverage radius of the WLAN network. Moreover, even if the phone shows a signal quality of 60%, this does not mean that the transmitter on the phone is capable of delivering packets to the AP, especially if the receiver on the AP is not very good.

Safety.
Few people want just anyone to hack their network, and even less want someone to intercept their packets and find out what they are doing on the network. This is why security was invented. Basically, everything is built on keys - these are these types of passwords. To log into the network, the passwords on the AP and on the phone must match.

The first way to ensure security - this is if you set a hidden SSID on the AP. This means that the AP will tell everyone that the network exists, but will not tell everyone the name. Accordingly, you need to configure an access point on your phone in advance, which will indicate the name of the network and the setting "Network Status: Hidden". But this protection is not very reliable. Using packet interception, it is quite possible to determine the SSID of a hidden network, so you should not rely on this method of protection when transmitting serious information.

Another way to protect against unauthorized access is MAC address limitation. Every device on a network, whether wired or wireless, has a unique address called a MAC address. The MAC address is assigned by the manufacturer in hardware and is unique, i.e. no other device in the world should have the same address. But there is one thing: some manufacturers still allow changing the MAC address in some devices for many reasons. There are both positives and negatives in this. From a security point of view, of course, there are only negatives. If the access point has such control by address, then we need to know the address of our mobile device. You can find out by dialing the code on your phone *#62209526# . If anyone has Bluetooth-to-LAN(also a wireless network) adapter, then, just in case, here is also the code for the Bluetooth MAC address - *#2820# .

Wired Equivalent Privacy or WEP - the simplest encryption method. There are 2 types: 64 bits And 128 bit, the second one is correspondingly more powerful. But you can still hack it in 2 minutes. However, this method is suitable for ensuring an average level of security.

Extensible Authentication Protocol or EAP - an extensible authentication infrastructure that defines the parcel format and is described by RFC 3748. WPA standards and WPA2 support five types of EAP as official authentication infrastructures. For wireless networks EAP-TLS, EAP-SIM, EAP-AK, PEAP, LEAP and EAP-TTLS are relevant.

Wi-Fi Protected Access , aka WPA , and there is more WPA2 (it added the ability to encrypt AES to TKIP).

Pre-Shared Key Mode in WPA. There are two use cases here:

    1. Temporal Key Integrity Protocol aka TKIP. This is an improved version of WEP. More secure than WEP, but still better to use AES.

    2. Advanced Encryption Standard aka AES. So far the most sophisticated encryption standard. Has a bunch of cryptographic goodies that make life difficult for hackers. However, WPA and WPA2 are so similar that Nokia has combined them into one security method. TKIP and AES can be selected for encryption automatically by the equipment, which is why Nokia has a TKIP switch.

Point-to-point mode.

If there is no AP, but you need to connect the phone to something, then this can be done directly.

To do this, you need to create an access point on your phone, just like for AP, but in the settings "WLAN network mode" deliver not Infrastructure, but Peer-to-peer.

Most likely, in this mode the phone will not be able to automatically obtain an IP address, so it is better to specify it in the access point settings

Security settings are customizable and, of course, on another device the settings should be the same and with the same keys. After this, you can access the network using this access point. On the second device, you can either create an access point in advance, or, after the application we need has started using a peer-to-peer access point on our phone, simply find the created network from another device.
