The design is always for everybody, but we rather like the appearance of the line: without bright accents, calm and laconic style that does not scream and does not attract attention, but also does not annoy. Is there anything else needed for everyday use?

In the case of the corporate identity, it is successfully combined with the metal body. The monolith with a non-removable back cover is thin and compact, and the material of manufacture provides a good tactile feeling and gives hope for trouble-free operation. True, the battery is not removable. If something happened to him - the phone can be safely thrown away.

The features of the model are added by a display curved at the edges, which is commonly called 2.5D. Not to say that this fundamentally affects the quality of the picture, but it adds a certain charm to the appearance. It fits well in the hand - moderate thickness even with a large battery and small frames around the screen do their job. The controls are close at hand, you can reach almost any corner with your thumb.

The disadvantage is the lack of backlighting. If you constantly use the phone, then you may not need it, but from habit you often miss in the dark.


The location of the interfaces is logical. The standard 3.5 mm audio jack is on the top, Micro-USB is on the bottom, the volume rocker and on / off button are on the right, and the SIM tray is on the left. Rear panel almost empty - it only has a camera peephole, a flash and the manufacturer's logo. Everything looks minimalistic, but neat.

Technical features

In our reviews, a tradition has developed to begin the story about the technical part with the processor. We will stick to it this time too, although, I must admit, I wanted to postpone the processor to the very end, because computing power is definitely not a strong point. This is not to say that the MediaTek MT6735 chipset is a failure, but it is already many years old, plus it is designed more for budget devices, but this is a model of the middle price group, where competitors sometimes have 8 cores.

The reality, however, turns out to be not so terrible. The interface works very fast, without slowdowns, applications open quickly, animation plays without problems, browsers do not empty the system. In everyday use, having 2 GB of RAM helps a lot. This is not a record even by the standards of the price segment, but the value is more than sufficient, applications can be launched without denying themselves anything.

Still a disadvantage computing power manifests itself in one area. And this sphere is games. Modern toys often slow down without sacrificing quality, it is uncomfortable to play. It is curious that in other "productive" disciplines, such as video playback, there are no problems, but in games the drawdown is noticeable. Fortunately for ZTE, not all smartphone users play, and for normal use, not the coolest processor is enough, especially since the phone is well optimized.

But everyone uses the display, so a miscalculation on its part would be critical. But there are almost no problems here. "Curved" edges a la 2.5D improve the appearance, but they do not affect the characteristics, although there is an order here: the resolution of 1280x720 pixels and the type of IPS matrix are completely adequate to the price segment, and the screen itself is very good. High definition, wide viewing angles and even correct color reproduction with pleasant tints. Brightness is also enough in all possible situations, except that automatic setting is not always correct and in some modes you want to correct it manually. If you start to find fault, then you can also complain about the protective coating of the screen. The manufacturer writes about it in the specifications, but in practice, prints and dirt collect quickly. The included screen protector should fix this problem.

Unfortunately, an unpleasant tendency of recent times has touched - the phone has only one SIM slot and one more combined slot intended either for a second SIM or for a microSD memory card. Many owners would like to use both, but here either you need to give up something, or at your own peril and risk grind the SIM and make a "sandwich". 16 GB of internal memory is, of course, not bad, but only a little more than 11 are available to the user, and it is far from the fact that this volume will be enough for applications, photos, video, audio, navigation maps and other information, so an SD card can be quite by the way. But the second SIM is also the second SIM, its importance cannot be overestimated.

As for the cameras, it is quite in the trend of the segment - the main module has a resolution of 13 megapixels, the front one - 5 megapixels. They shoot cameras not to say that it's cool, but by the standards of classmates it's normal. Of course, with a lack of light, the situation worsens, but during the day there is enough detail in the photographs, and the color rendition is correct. Of the purely photographic features, we note the not very confident metering, which often does not illuminate the pictures. It is treated manual settings, since they are very rich. The built-in flash (aka a flashlight) allows you to take night photos at an acceptable level, but you can count on it only in “close combat”, it will not illuminate distant objects. Selfies on the front camera are quite decent, however, only in the light - the second camera does not have a separate flash.

The video is also good, besides, in the case of it, there are no problems with lighting, but there is not always enough detail. The strong point in terms of recording videos is the stabilization system. It compensates well for hand tremors, which has a beneficial effect on the overall perception of the recording.

Obvious strong point phone - battery. It is here already 4000 mAh, and do not forget about not the most gluttonous processor and screen. As a result, the indicators of autonomy can be safely written in advertising - they are very good. For example, you can watch a video from YouTube for about 10 hours in a row, listen to music for about 20 hours, and play 6 hours of medium-weight games. AT everyday life in the “I don’t think about the charge” mode it easily “lives” for two days, and if you start saving, it can last 3-4 days, a very decent result. In addition, the device can recharge its less capacious counterparts. If one of your friends has a phone call, you can always give a “light”.

In terms of sound reproduction - the average. The speaker is loud, but has a clear bias towards the upper frequencies, the bass is not enough. The sound in the headphones is good, but without a highlight. Audiophiles may not like it very much, but the average user will surely be satisfied.

Working with the phone

It's nice that already from the factory comes with Android 6.0, customers then do not need to bother with updates. The operating system itself, however, is not presented in a nude form, a proprietary ZTE launcher is installed on top of it. This is not the worst option we've come across. One of the conspicuous drawbacks is the absence of a menu with a list of applications, and many are accustomed to this method of calling desired program... Of the pros - advanced customization options for the appearance and profiles. There are preinstalled programs, but there are not very many of them - a proprietary player, a simple antivirus, office suite, non-standard keyboard. The player seemed to us rustic and did not like it, and the rest of the applications are quite working. The launcher itself left a positive impression, it is simple and does not load the system very much.

The smartphone performs the main tasks without any complaints. The connection quality is high, the signal reception is confident, the Internet in the LTE coverage area flies, GPS satellites are caught quickly. True, sometimes it happens that the phone loses contact with "space" out of the blue, but after a few seconds the satellites are again found. Of the two SIM cards with fast 3G / 4G Internet, only the first can work, the second is purely for voice communication. NFC module the model does not.

It should be noted that during the test the phone seriously froze once, only a "hard" reset saved it, but such a case was a one-off, otherwise the stability of the work did not cause any questions.

During the test, we noticed interesting feature - we do not want to first of all talk about the large battery of this smartphone and position it as a long-liver. And not because the battery is bad, quite the opposite, it's just that there are enough strengths without it. The phone is very balanced in its technical capabilities and is very adequate to the price of 11-12 thousand rubles. In Russian retail it will not be easy to find a phone with similar capabilities, but at a lower price (of course, we are not talking about China).

Generally speaking, there is only one complaint - the combined slot of the second SIM and memory card, which is inconvenient for many users. Not the coolest processor and average performance, we will not attribute to the minuses, we consider them a feature of the model, especially since in everyday life there is enough hardware in almost all use cases, except for games. - a simple universal mid-range phone for adequate money, so it's okay if gamers choose a different model.

Design and appearance

The body of the smartphone is made of high quality plastic imitating metal. The surface of the back panel has an interesting texture that makes it look extremely beautiful. Left top corner is occupied by the main camera and LED flash, at the bottom in the middle is the speaker.

The left side of the monolithic non-separable case was occupied by the tray for SIM-cards. In almost all devices of the company this tray has a combined design, and allows you to install two SIM-cards or one plus a memory card.

On the right side you can feel the traditional on / off button and volume rocker. The key travel is good, there are no complaints about them.

The 3.5 mm headphone jack is located in the center of the upper edge. On the bottom edge, closer to the right edge is a microUSB connector, to the left edge is a microphone.

The full face of the smartphone adorns front-camera, earpiece and navigation touch buttons without backlight. Reflective paint paints two dots along the edges and a circle in the middle.

The build quality of the ZTE Blade A610c on high level - the monolithic body does not bend, does not play or creak. The smartphone is sold in gold and dark blue colors.

Display: bright and natural colors

The ZTE Blade A610c has a five-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, with a curved 2.5D glass. Bright and rich colors look natural and pleasing to the eye. You can use the built-in product MIRAVISION, a technology that can improve the image quality in real time. Three modes are available: Standard, Vivid and Custom. In the latter, you can manually adjust the image display effects to your liking.


The display sensor is responsive and can recognize up to five simultaneous presses. Works smoothly, without delays or crashes.

Performance: good for everyday tasks

The ZTE Blade A610c uses the proven MediaTek MTK6735P quad-core chipset with clock frequency cores 1 GHz. The Mali-T720 accelerator is responsible for the graphics. The amount of RAM is 1 GB, internal memory is 16 GB (of which a little more than 10 GB is available to the user). You can install a microSD memory card up to 128 GB.


The listed characteristics can be called balanced. When working with the browser and watching videos, there were no problems. But games that require more serious device performance will have to be abandoned.

The sound of the external speaker is loud enough and without distortion.

Camera: take cool pictures

The main 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash has a decent set of settings that allow you to choose one of 14 shooting modes, add filters in real time, use flexible customization white balance and exposure.



Focusing is very fast, even when the subject is relatively close to the camera. HDR mode fulfills its 100%. But the image stitching in panoramic mode is lame.


The device supports 720p video recording.





The front camera cannot boast of the number of megapixels - there are only two of them. The quality of the photos can be judged by the pictures below.





Communication and communications: be always online

The ZTE Blade A610c smartphone is equipped with all the necessary wireless interfacesthat we are so used to. High speed internet is available thanks to 4G LTE support. At home or at work, you can connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi (802.11). There is support for Bluetooth 4.1

The location is determined by a built-in GPS receiver with support for the global navigation satellite system.

NFC is missing, but FM radio is present.

Operating system and interface: proprietary shell and Android

The device operates under the control of an operating room android systems 6.0 Marshmallow with ZTE's proprietary launcher. Its main feature is the lack of a separate menu with applications. All items are displayed on the home screen (just like on iOS). The ZTE Blade A610c has a non-removable lithium ion battery at 4000 mAh. He confidently survived all our active tests - the smartphone really turned out to be a long-liver. Battery life is about the same as any other Android smartphone with a powerful battery. With dosed use of the Internet, watching videos and listening to music, you can count on several days of battery life.

For 11 hours of constantly on mobile internet and interaction with social networks I managed to spend only 40%. That is, such use allows you to forget about charging device and sockets.

It will help you forget about the need to recharge the device for a few days. Modern hardware, an excellent 2.5D glass screen, the ability to use high-speed Internet - all at an affordable price.

With a capacious battery they occupy a considerable part of the market. And this is not surprising: most users do not have a huge budget that can be spent on a modern flagship: many want a cheaper device, with a capacious battery and good hardware. Well, ZTE Blade A610 just can be attributed to such gadgets.

Appearance

Externally, the smartphone resembles the iPhone 5s, this is facilitated by a flat rectangular frame with rounded corners. With all this, there is an application for framelessness: if you look at the device in the off state, it seems that there are no frames on the sides. But if you turn on or unlock the gadget, you can be unpleasantly surprised. To be fair: the frames are not as big as they were in the first "tricks" a couple of years ago. It is also pleasing that under the display there are touch buttons for home, back and menu entry.

Now about the back: above and below we see plastic overlays. And at the top there is a slot for the camera and flash, and at the bottom - rows of holes for the speaker. In the center we see a metallized back with the company logo. Well, a few words about the display. It is made using IPEs-Elsidi technology and has a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. As for the diagonal, we have a five-inch drive. By the way, the thickness is only 8.2 mm, but it is worth remembering about the capacious battery. In general, the ergonomic shape evokes only positive emotions. ZTE blade a610 looks good and is available in classic gold, gray and silver colors.

Specifications

Speaking of performance, first of all, it is worth starting from the capabilities of the processor. Here we see a simple media library MT6735. This processor can be considered the benchmark of the budget segment of the outgoing sixteenth year. Well, considering the 2 gigabytes of RAM, the performance is really optimal for this market segment. True, a version with one gigabyte is also available to buyers.

If we consider competitors, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is more interesting in terms of amoled display and a slightly higher processor frequency. Another interesting competitor is the famous Xiaomi Redmi 3s phone, which is also attractive in the eyes of buyers. But again, the strong point of the ZTE Blade A610 is its price and fresh design. And if you consider that the 4000 mAh battery works with a low-cost platform, the device boasts a very good autonomy. In addition, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 and, unlike most old state employees, supports OTG.
