ZTE officially entered the Ukrainian smartphone market at the end of 2016, and did not release a couple of devices for probing the soil, but immediately rolled out in different price segments. Previously, the site got acquainted with, and now it got to another inexpensive device, which pleased with its excellent autonomy.

Appearance, assembly and convenience

ZTE Blade A610 looks simple in the face: 2.5D glass covers the display, but its bend completely covers the plastic bezel, which creates only visual overflows, but the effect is not felt by the hand, under the screen itself there are touch control keys, designed as two points and a circle. The latter is responsible for the functions "Home", and the side ones are "Back" and "Menu", and their position can be changed. It's good that the buttons look identical, because when they are inverted, the harmony does not collapse due to the wrong graphic symbols.

The device also received a metal back, a slippery plastic frame around the entire perimeter and embossed plastic plugs at the bottom and top edges of the case at the back. The latter in our sample do not fit tightly to the body, which in practice does not interfere in any way, but frustrates the very fact of the existing flaw. It is possible that other copies are devoid of such a drawback, but when buying, you should pay attention to this. The rest of the device is monolithic as much as it is possible in principle.

Initially it seems that the plastic frame will slide in the palm of your hand, but in everyday use the device has never tried to slip out of your hands. This is also facilitated by a rough aluminum back, which fits snugly to the palm due to an ergonomic bend closer to the ends.

A tight grip does not allow you to comfortably reach all corners of the display, and also makes it difficult to control the volume without intercepting the device, because with optimal hold, the thumb fits clearly on the lock, and the volume switch is noticeably higher, besides, it is very long - the "plus" is almost at the top edge.

It's good that you don't have to change the volume often, because this is essentially the only complaint about ergonomics. But the situation with the display is not so straightforward.

Screen

The ZTE Blade A610 offers a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which is a typical configuration for this price segment. The screen, at first glance, pleases: the picture is quite saturated, the viewing angles are wide, the margin of brightness is not bad.

A more detailed examination showed that the screen is not capable of displaying a saturated red color, it makes it much paler than it actually is. The backlight also upset when you look at objects with a white background - a dark halo is slightly noticeable along the perimeter of the screen, and the lower edge of the matrix is \u200b\u200bpoorly glued, which is why you can see the gaps through which the LED beams break through.

If nothing can be done with red, then the problem with uneven backlighting is solved by the dark background of programs and dark wallpaper. And in general, the drawback is noticeable upon closer examination, this feature practically does not affect the real experience of use. In addition, the rest of the parameters are encouraging that, by a combination of factors, it makes the smartphone screen better than that of most competitors. Where ZTE is seriously losing is in the stuffing issue.

Performance

ZTE Blade A610 is powered by MediaTek MT6735 entry-level processor and 2GB random access memory... Synthetic measurements indicate that the smartphone has nothing to brag about:

Indeed, 3D games are difficult for the device, and the multiplayer mode in Modern Combat 5 is generally contraindicated, since players with more productive solutions are by far the faster able to aim and shoot (this is largely due to the serious frame sagging in scenes saturated with special effects). The minimum graphics settings in Asphalt 8 allow you to drive the car more or less tolerably, but the performance is still not comfortable.

Casual games work much better, especially all kinds of solitaire games and Japanese crosswords, but juicy games about Om Nom don't cause any particular problems either. Performance in third-party software is good, even fast scrolling of long lists runs without significant twitching. The shell and native settings work almost perfectly.

The amount of RAM allowed the device not to cause any complaints about multitasking - a typical set of 5-6 applications (messengers, text editor, browser, mail, translator, Twitter) remains in memory, the recovery of programs in the midst of work did not happen during testing. In total, for games you definitely need to buy another smartphone, but the budget ZTE copes well with everyday tasks.

Autonomy

ZTE Blade A610 is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery, which, together with a low-performance filling and a relatively small display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, gives an excellent result in terms of battery life. Testing included 30 minutes of YouTube video playback, about 30 minutes of casual games, and several mailboxes, active use of two social networks, three instant messengers and a browser. The result pleased:

Exactly two days (48 hours 01 minutes) with 6.5 hours of active display!

The device works for a very long time, for a day of normal use it will be possible to set it "to zero" only if you set yourself a similar task. Normal mode will provide 2-3 days of operation from a single charge, which does not just relate budget smartphone to the number of centenarians, but also makes it one of the best devices basically.

The background consumption can hardly be called extraordinary: in 7 hours at night the device loses on average 5-7%, and in the daytime, when the number of notifications grows significantly, this figure increases only to 10-12% over the same period of time.

The weakest point was the charge speed - in 30 minutes the device received 15%, in 1 hour up to 32%, in two hours the charge grew to 55%, in three and a half - up to 87%, and the energy was fully restored in only 4 hours 21 minutes ...

Camera, sound and communications

The ZTE Blade A610 has a 13MP main camera with mediocre photo quality. Even in the bright sun, colors are almost always transmitted with distortion, but on the whole the result is acceptable: processing algorithms do not destroy the texture, and excessively cold tones partially compensate for the incorrect transmission of light.

The sound quality through an external speaker installed on the back is average: there is practically no bass, and at maximum volume high frequencies distorted, resulting in a squeak-like effect, while remaining completely intelligible. Watching a video will be enough, especially given the high maximum volume, but listening to songs through the speaker is not worth it. But this can be done through headphones: the sound is loud and moderately clear, but flat, which in total is perceived adequately for the money.

The radio modules work stably, no extraordinary achievements or failures were detected during the testing. It can only be noted that the extremely good voice transmission, which will be important if you are still making calls on your smartphone.

Competitors

It attracts with higher performance, which is felt in the work of the same browser, the camera also looks a little more cheerful. But the screen at ZTE is better, autonomy is noticeably higher. The main disadvantage of Meizu m3s is the warranty, as a rule, from the store, and not directly from the manufacturer (because Meizu, in principle, did not enter the Ukrainian market), which in case of problems will greatly complicate the process of warranty repair. The main advantage of Meizu m3s is its lower cost - only 3299 UAH.

With 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, it also looks like a good option to buy, which includes the savings, as well as slightly faster performance when relying on games. Autonomy is one of the best, but still slightly less than that of ZTE. The main problem of this competitor, as in the case of the Meizu m3s, is its dubious origin in the local market. The cost of the device in retail networks is 3600-4000 UAH.

An interesting alternative is also, which offers a slightly better display, a fingerprint scanner, many additional functions and even a front-facing flash. But the smartphone works much less, and third-party software and the shell periodically lose frames, which in some cases is annoying. And the price for a more advanced device is higher - 4299 UAH.

conclusions

ZTE Blade A610 was extremely interesting device: neat, albeit with a flaw in the assembly, multitasking, albeit unhurried, with a decent display and high-quality sound in the headphones. This set already shows a smartphone with a price of 3999 UAH competitive, but all these advantages fade away when it comes to autonomy.

A device that works for two days in the hands of an ordinary user, while not needing harsh memory management and without the sophistication of turning on radio modules only at the moment of need, is now very difficult to find. Moreover, for the money that the manufacturer asks for.

The performance of the ZTE Blade A610 is not enough for advanced 3D games, but other applications work well, and the smartphone itself does not heat up at all, even while charging. All together indicate that this gadget can be safely recommended as a device for every day, the user will definitely be satisfied.

2 reasons to buy ZTE Blade A610:

  • titanic autonomy
  • convenient shape and size for one-handed use

2 reasons not to buy the ZTE Blade A610:

  • weak filling for the price
  • assembly (possibly a defect in the specific sample being tested)

The ZTE Blade A610 looks pretty good and is compact enough to fit comfortably in one hand. In terms of design, it differs from the company's state employees at least in that the upper and lower ends are no longer convex, like those of the plastic ZTE. Apparently because metal is more difficult to process. As for the front panel, it is possible to note 2.5D-glass curved along the edges and the button design typical for the company. In addition, wide black frames around the screen are striking. Yes, they tried to make them visually thinner by painting them in black (this technique has been actively used since the days of Huawei Honor 4C), but you can still see that they have overdone the frames. The back of the ZTE Blade A610 with plastic inserts at the top and bottom looks neat. In addition to the speaker, logo, lens and flash, there is nothing else on it. Announced dimensions of the model - 145 × 71 × 8.65 mm, weight - 140 grams. These are good numbers, the new product weighs almost as much as the Lenovo Vibe Shot and is only slightly inferior to the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) in size.

The cover of the smartphone is made of metal and is of a fairly high quality. True, that is why she, like accumulator batteryturned out to be non-removable. The ZTE Blade A610 can be purchased in two colors: white and gray.

Screen

The screen parameters of the ZTE Blade A6010 can be called average: a diagonal of 5 inches, an IPS screen and an HD resolution (1280 × 720 pixels). The pixel density is 294 ppi, the picture looks quite sharp. Of the unusual, only 2.5D glass (curved at the edges) and the fact that the phone can manually adjust the image settings can be noted.

Camera

The ZTE Blade A610 has two mid-range cameras, at 13 and 5 MP. There is almost no information about them, except for the presence of a flash and autofocus, which almost all smartphones already have. But with a resolution like this, you hardly feel left out when compared to other phones of the same level.

Communications

The set of communications ZTE Blade A610 is typical for the price of a smartphone:

  • Wi-Fi b / g / n
  • lTE support
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • GPS support GLONASS
  • FM radio (you need headphones to work).

As we can see, there are no excesses. Note the work with two NanoSIM cards. True, the slot for the second of them, as is fashionable for metal phones, is combined - you can insert either a SIM or a MicroSD card into it. OTG support is also a small feature - you can connect to ZTE Blade A 610 peripherals and even charge them from your phone.

Battery

A non-removable 4000 mAh battery is responsible for the autonomy of the ZTE Blade A610 - perhaps this is the main plus of the new product. Together with the HD display and rather weak hardware, this can provide the phone with a long life. Even if the ZTE Blade X5 with similar parameters and a 2400 mAh battery showed good autonomy, then this one should even more.

Performance

The performance of the ZTE Blade A610 can be called modest, even low. It has a whopping 2GB of RAM, but uses the budget MediaTek MT6735 quad-core chipset. It is enough for a fairly smooth interface and most tasks, but in many games it will slow down. For the same money, there are phones with processors and more powerful ones, for example, Lenovo K5 Note.

Memory

The built-in memory of the ZTE Blade A610 is 16 GB, which is a typical figure. If that's not enough for you, then you can always add up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

With a capacious battery they occupy a considerable part of the market. And this is not surprising: most users do not have a huge budget that can be spent on a modern flagship: many want a cheaper device, with a capacious battery and good hardware. Well, ZTE Blade A610 just can be attributed to such gadgets.

Appearance

Externally, the smartphone resembles the iPhone 5s, this is facilitated by a flat rectangular frame with rounded corners. With all this, there is an application for framelessness: if you look at the device in the off state, it seems that there are no frames on the sides. But if you turn on or unlock the gadget, you can be unpleasantly surprised. To be fair: the frames are not as big as they were in the first "tricks" a couple of years ago. I am also glad that under the display there is touch buttons home, back and enter the menu.

Now about the back: above and below we see plastic overlays. And at the top there is a slot for the camera and flash, and at the bottom - rows of holes for the speaker. In the center we see a metallized back with the company logo. Well, a few words about the display. It is made using IPEs-Elsidi technology and has a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. As for the diagonal, we have a five-inch drive. By the way, the thickness is only 8.2 mm, but it is worth remembering about the capacious battery. In general, the ergonomic shape evokes only positive emotions. ZTE blade a610 looks good and is available in classic gold, gray and silver colors.

Specifications

Speaking of performance, first of all, it is worth starting from the capabilities of the processor. Here we see a simple media library MT6735. This processor can be considered the benchmark of the budget segment of the outgoing sixteenth year. Well, considering the 2 gigabytes of RAM, the performance is really optimal for this market segment. True, a version with one gigabyte is also available to buyers.

If we consider competitors, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is more interesting in terms of amoled display and a slightly higher processor frequency. Another interesting competitor is the famous Xiaomi Redmi 3s phone, which is also attractive in the eyes of buyers. But again, strong point ZTE Blade A610 - its price and fresh design. And if you consider that the 4000 mAh battery works with a low-cost platform, the device boasts a very good autonomy. In addition, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 and, unlike most old state employees, supports OTG.

Another inexpensive smartphone came to our test - this time it is the ZTE Blade A610 model. Another "another smartphone", you ask? Yes and no.

The first long-playing smartphone I came across was called the P700i and was manufactured by Lenovo. Almost four years ago, that device won me over, because with a 2500 mAh battery it lived for more than two days without recharging, which was absolute space against the background of other Android devices that did not even live up to the middle of the working day. The problem was that in those years there was a clear division into smart devices and beautiful ones, and the iPhone also, of course, but for a little different money. The smartphone did not have a design from the word “at all”, now engineering prototypes in which the same Qualcomm shows its solutions, sometimes look more elegant.

But time goes on and today we will talk about a new long-playing smartphone - ZTE Blade A610. Another "another smartphone", you ask? Yes and no.

First, it is inexpensive. It's always good. Life is getting more expensive, money is getting cheaper, it is more and more difficult to earn money and I don’t want to spend too much on a phone. And here - 12990 is a good price.

Secondly, it has a large 4000mAh battery, which should give us the ability to charge it every two days.

And it was also produced by ZTE, one of the largest vendors in the world, that is, I am not holding in my hands some dubious device, assembled on a night shift without proper quality control and with savings on everything possible.

That's all you need to know to understand that a smartphone is good. And the store would not have been able to extract half of this information from the seller. But we're not in the store. So let's try to take a closer look.

ZTE Blade A610 looks very, very dignified. No, we have before us definitely another "iPhone-like" device, but made very sensibly and from decent materials. The smartphone has a metal frame and a relatively compact size, its thickness is 8.6 mm, which is quite a bit with such a capacious battery.

5-inch IPS-screen with a resolution of only 1280 by 720 pixels, i.e. just HD. But for such a small diagonal, this is not critical, and if we are talking about the quality of the image, it is on high level... At the same time, such a display allows you to significantly save battery power, since what bigger screen and the higher its resolution, the more energy it consumes.

The smartphone is inexpensive, so it was difficult to expect top-end solutions in it. It is important to understand here that this is not about saving, but about the fact that even for little money you can make a decent product. It's all about absolutely little things - maintaining a balance between requests and the desired final price.

Absolutely rationally, the manufacturer used the inexpensive MediaTek MT 6735 platform and the Mali T720M2 graphics, all this is supplemented with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of memory for storing data, there is also a memory card slot, which removes the problem of lack of space for photos and applications. The device works under android 6.0. Smart enough interface that does not slow down at all

As for the camera, it is average - 13 and 5 megapixel modules were used for the main and front cameras... The camera interface is not overloaded and easy to use. The quality of the images obtained is decent, although, of course, such solutions are hardly worth using in difficult conditionseg in the dark. But waiting for the capabilities of a device for 60 thousand from a device for 13 would be completely strange.

Looking at the USB port on zTE case Blade A610, it is quite ordinary. This is not the now fashionable UCB Type C, to which you have to find a charger or a corresponding cable, but good old USB. What makes it remarkable is that the smartphone can work in On The Go mode, this is what the OTG beeps indicate in the specifications.

Why do we need these three letters? Quite simply, they imply the presence of a host controller, it is such a controller that allows us to connect various external devices: smartphones, mice, keyboards, external drives and much more.

Do I need to connect a mouse or keyboard to my smartphone? Not sure. But here's the opportunity to connect external storage? Why not. Especially if you want to watch a movie or listen to music, but do not be eager to transfer content to your device, taking up extra space. Or vice versa, if there is a need to download photos or files from mail to a USB flash drive. The main thing is not to forget the special adapter, fortunately it is included in the kit.

Small, outwardly cute, robustly built, with a large battery and an up-to-date version of the operating room android systems - what else can you want from inexpensive Android smartphone, created by a manufacturer with a worldwide reputation?

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)

SAR level refers to the amount of electromagnetic radiation absorbed by the human body when using a mobile device.

SAR level head (USA)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount electromagnetic radiationto which the human body is exposed if you hold a mobile device near your ear. The maximum value used in the USA is 1.6 W / kg per gram of human tissue. US mobile devices are controlled by CTIA and the FCC conducts tests and sets their SAR values.

0.51 W / kg (Watts per kilogram)
Body SAR (US)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation to which the human body is exposed if the mobile device is held at hip level. The highest SAR value in the United States is 1.6 W / kg per gram of human tissue. This value is set by the FCC and CTIA monitors mobile devices for compliance with this standard.

1.06 W / kg (Watts per kilogram)
