First of all, let's turn to the weight and dimensions of this smartphone. Just 2 years ago, such smartphones were perceived as shovels, but in 2015 such sizes are quite relevant.
The weight is 150 grams, perhaps someone will think that this is a lot, but I will say that this weight is practically not felt in the hand and in reality it seems much less.
The rest of the parameters are as follows - 77x157x9.1 mm and here we can say that using this smartphone with one hand is practically impossible, unless of course you are the owner of Nikolai Valuev's hand. The company understood that the size turned out to be, let's say, not small and implemented the so-called "Operations with one hand" function into the firmware. This item can be activated in the settings. The essence of this function is that all basic controls such as dialing, call buttons, unlocking, etc. slide to the right or left side of the screen.
The corners of the smartphone are rather strongly rounded. At first it seems that there are metal parts in the design of the smartphone, but this is not so. For example, along the perimeter of the smartphone there is a silver, plastic edging, very similar to a metal one. The back cover is also plastic, painted in the color of the metal and, accordingly, has a metal texture, looks very natural. The base of the smartphone is flat, without protruding elements. The right and left edges of the lid are slightly rounded towards the top. The back cover is removable and accumulator battery also. Of the metal parts, these are only the power button and the volume control button.
The smartphone screen protrudes slightly above the body and this is the first time I've come across such an approach in design. In turn, along the perimeter of the screen, there is an insert of their black, glossy plastic, which protects the edges of the screen. The right and left edges of the screen are about 3mm wide, and together with the body, the width is already 5mm. Top and bottom edges by 17mm.

Protective glass in our case is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and it covers the entire screen area. In the off state, the screen becomes one whole, the edges of the display are not visible.
The matrix in our case is of course IPS, which allows us to speak about the maximum tilt angles. In direct sunlight, the image fades quite a lot, but you can read it if you want.
Of the other features of the screen, the "Screen Effect" mode is activated in the settings. It has three points: Realism - displays natural colors, Colorful - slightly overestimates the color gamut, Bright - this mode for fans of AMOLED matrices.
Also in the settings you can select the item "Glove mode" when activated, the sensitivity of the sensor layer increases.
From my personal feelings, I note that this screen lacks maximum brightness, the value has to be set to maximum, which has a detrimental effect on energy consumption.

As you can see, the gamma curves are rather unstable. There is a pronounced deviation from the reference curve for all colors. There may be a lack of color saturation.
But the color gamut is almost equal to the sRGB standard. This indicator allows us to say that, in general, the color rendition is correct.
The color temperature is a little far from the 6500K standard. Cold shades may be present.
Color channels are generally stable. There is a slight lack of red saturation.

As you may have noticed, separately in the parcel there was a MEIYI charger, this is due to the fact that there is no charger in the box with the device (in theory, the kit should contain a charger for China, but why do I need it for European sockets).

What should I say about charging, it is two-port, 1A is written on one port, 2.4A on the second. I checked it on charging the phone, sphilonil and did not drive it under a load of 1.5-2 A, tk. corny there was no time for this when there was an opportunity. In general, I recognize charging as suitable, in the photo below the phone charge is from 76%:

What can you say about the phone? It is far from being a novelty on the market, a device of 2014. I came with anroid 4.3 on board and not the best Russification.
Talking about how many people complain about backlash back cover, I can say that my copy is devoid of this drawback, although on the other hand, the backlashes are not so terrible and even natural if the lid is held on latches around the perimeter. And although the phone turned out to be quite light and pleasantly in the hand, its factory firmware turned out to be just hell, therefore it was decided to turn to w3bsit3-dns.com and do well. The phone was very quickly and easily changed to cyanogen mod 12.1v7 based on anroid 5.1.1
After the firmware, the phone flies to itself, but there are some nuances: the mode of operation with gloves disappeared, the sound of the spoken speaker became quieter, the sound when recording video to the camera is accompanied by some noises, I had to tweak a little so that every time the phone was connected to a PC, it worked in the mode USB stick... The rest of the firmware is good, the battery does not drain off any quick (the brightness is automatic, games and the Internet are moderate and at the end of the day more than 50%).
The device has a slot for one SIM card and a slot for micro SD up to 32 GB.
I like the display, nice colors, the viewing angles are impressive too. Automatic adjustment brightness works correctly, so it is quite comfortable to read and play games.

Summing up, what can I say: is it worth expecting something supernatural from a $ 87 device? I think the answer is obvious. Do I regret at least one cent spent on this device? No doubt not. Although the phone is not without a number of disadvantages, more budget smartphone with such characteristics it will be almost impossible to find. The only serious drawback is that it is not quite ready for use out of the box, and it is still better to flash it for further comfortable work. If now you return me a month ago and give a chance to order this smartphone again, I would definitely do it.
