Setting up mail on iPhone and iPad. Email Setting up tut by mail in android

The Mail program (or Mail) is standard application iOS systems and does not require additional installation from App Store. However, to work with the mail client, you must first carry out the “Mail” setup procedure. This article will discuss all possible stages of setting up an email client using an example native application"Mail".

Standard Mail setup on iPhone/iPad

To configure the email client, go to “Settings” -> “Mail, addresses, calendars”. Here the user is given a choice of services, such as Google, Yahoo, iCloud, Outlook and so on. To connect a service account that is not included in the general list, you need to click on the “Other” button, however, in this case, the procedure for connecting an account may differ from the standard one.

Having selected a service in which you already have an account, you need to tap on its logo, and then indicate the basic information of your account: name, e-mail, password. After checking the information, if there are no errors, the Mail application will be ready to use. But don’t rush to leave the “Mail, Addresses, Calendars” section. Here you can also customize some design styles, notifications, signatures and other little things.

By the way, if necessary, it is possible to add several accounts of different postal services.

Adding an account for Tut.by, Rambler, Yandex, etc. to the Mail app on iPhone/iPad

Add to regular mail iOS client"Mail" account Tut.by or Rambler is possible only by binding the server address. To do this, in the service selection window, click “Others”. In the menu that appears, enter your name, email and password.

  • Mail.ru - pop.mail.ru
  • Yandex - pop.yandex.ru
  • Rambler - pop.rambler.ru
  • Tut.by - pop.gmail.com
In the next line enter your email and password from mailbox. In the “Outgoing Mail Server” section you must enter the following data:
  • Mail.ru - smtp.mail.ru:25
  • Yandex -smtp.yandex.ru
  • Rambler - smtp.rambler.ru
  • Tut.by - smtp.gmail.com
After which, despite the “optional” mark, you should enter in the same section, below the specified server, your email and password for it, otherwise third party service simply will not receive or send emails. Click Next and in the dialog box that appears, select “Save”.

If you encounter the error “The server rejected the recipient because. it does not allow relay" or "Relay error" in your email client, check that the information is filled in correctly.

As a final step, in the last settings menu that appears, we indicate those sections that we want to synchronize with the mail service (contacts, calendars, etc.), save all the settings made and check the operation of the mail. If an error occurs in the operation of the mail service, try repeating the entire procedure again. Perhaps you just missed something at one of the stages.

Also check that in the settings of your mail account, in the “outgoing mail” section, in the “primary server” item, the use of SSL is activated. If this does not help and mail continues to not work on your iPhone or iPad, then, in the same section, change the numerical value of the server port to 465 or 25.

Google two-step verification: setting up mail on iPhone or iPad

Often, Gmail users activate the two-step verification feature to increase the security of their Google account. From the moment it is turned on, the active mail account on the iPhone and iPad stops working, displaying the error "Invalid username or password". In this case, re-entering the password or checking the username (just in case) does not bring any benefit.

In this case, you need to do the following:

Step 1. Log into your Google account through a browser and go to the “Security” section.

Step 2. Look for the line “Two-Step Verification” and go to “Settings”.

Step 3. You will be prompted to enter your Google account password, after which you will be taken to the settings for this function. We need a second tab “Application Passwords”. Click on the “Manage application passwords” button and enter the password again.

Step 4. We see a list of all applications that have access to your Google account and mail, including. Here you can give access to the Mail application on your iPhone and iPad. To do this, click on the “Applications” menu, select “Mail”, and on the right, click on the “Device” menu, select iPhone or iPad and click the “Create” button.

Step 5. After all the manipulations, instructions will immediately open containing New Password to set up an account on your device.

Following the instructions, go to “Settings” -> “Mail, addresses, calendars”, select an account from the list Gmail entry and change the password to the one specified in the instructions. Ready!

Email clients from the App Store

Despite the availability of quite high-quality standard one on iOS, good alternative options can be: Mailbox, myMail, Boxer (lite version available) and standard clients from Google, Yandex, Yahoo and so on. Each application has unique design and boasts interesting features that will make working with emails much easier and more convenient. The choice is yours.

E-mail a recognized management tool in the world.

In developed countries, email messages are considered as full-fledged business documents, which is enshrined in legislation.

IN In the United States, e-mail now makes up the bulk of administration documents accepted for archival storage.

According to the studyARMA International: More than 60% of electronic business documents are transmitted as file attachments in email messages and up to 60% of critical business information is stored in a messaging environment.

Problems organizing work with corporate email:

    working with e-mail of performers who do not have appropriate training in the field of document management. It is required to automate work with e-mail in such a way that basic routine office operations (registration, classification, setting storage periods, etc.) are carried out in an automated or semi-automated mode;

a sharp increase in the volume of information, the long-term safety of which must be ensured (new legislation on the seizure of electronic information provides for severe penalties for failure to save documents, as a result of which many organizations have begun to save all messages ever received by e-mail).

Storage theory emails well developed as business documents, but it requires ordinary performers to have great knowledge and carry out non-trivial technical operations, which creates a number of additional problems.

It is generally recommended to store email in management systems electronic documents ( EDMS/ECM/ERM ), equipped with appropriate technical modules, but even when using such systems, workers encounter difficulties. Moreover, the use of an ERM system forces users to change their usual work style to a more labor-intensive and burdensome one. Most email systems do not provide reliable security and management of messages in accordance with office management requirements, but simply serve as a place to store messages.

E e-mail, as a rule, arrives at the organization at the addresses of specific employees, which means:

    only one employee of the organization has access to valuable corporate information, important corporate knowledge is practically inaccessible to other employees;

    email messages are not protected, they are simply stored in the mail system;

Mail management is at the discretion of individual employees and there can be no assurance that they are doing so in accordance with the organization's policies (if any).

IT security for corporate email:

Mail firewall– operating mode in which the server corporate mail is inside corporate network enterprise and protected firewall, and delivery of messages to recipients is entrusted to MailEssentials. This function allows you to protect your mail server from external intrusions - an attacker simply “will not see” it.

Disclaimer(disclaimer - English, legal waiver of rights to something) - forced attachment of a predetermined short text to the body of each outgoing letter. This may contain information about the company, details, etc., or perhaps a warning about the conditions for using the information contained in the letter. This function is missing from the vast majority of mail servers and will help create the image of a serious company that cares about appearance emails their employees.

Antivirus protection – thanks to the built-in antivirus, all messages are automatically checked for malware. This is the same prevention that is better to carry out in advance than to later treat the disease-virus that has infected the corporate intranet.

Archiving of received and sent correspondence– saves copies of all incoming and outgoing mail. It will help restore lost correspondence and strengthen control over employees.

Content checking/anti-spam – will help stop the flow of unwanted correspondence that is increasing on the Internet day by day. Will allow you to reduce the loss of working time due to employees using corporate mail for personal purposes.

Automatic compression based on criteria– includes a built-in archiver for compressing (zip format) files attached to outgoing emails. Compression can be configured according to criteria - a file larger than a certain size, an extension from the list, etc. Allows you to save money throughput outgoing channel when sending correspondence.

Encryption/decryption of correspondencecryptographic protection incoming and outgoing mail on the fly. Over public channels, email is sent and received in an unreadable encrypted form and is automatically decrypted for transmission over the corporate network without the participation of the end-user employee. The well-known PGP cryptographic package is used, using public key technology, with a strength of up to 4096 bits.

ABOUT accountability (by volume, quantity, time of day, target domain and user of sent and received correspondence). Allows the IT department to predict information flows and balance the load on the mail server.

There are three recovery methods: via a backup address, SMS or reply to security question.

  • If you have access to email, which you indicated as a backup for your account on TUT.BY, then in order to receive a link to it to enter a new password, just enter your login (TUT.BY username) on the page, and then indicate the backup address.

If you have chosen more than one recovery method, then any of these methods can be deleted. After deleting the answer to the secret question, this recovery method becomes unavailable in the future, while the backup address and phone number can be re-linked to the account after deletion. Every postal address can be used as a backup for only one account on TUT.BY. Likewise: each phone number can only be associated with one account.

Service technical support The portal also does not develop software and never sends programs to users. Under no circumstances should you run the files attached to such emails or follow the links (especially if the files are archived) - these are dangerous viruses.

If you have received such a suspicious letter from any of the addresses in the format [email protected], please report it to [email protected] so that we can block the sender's account.

The only difference: TUT.BY users in the " Username" indicate not just the login, but full mailbox address, in the format [email protected].

If all the settings are specified, but the mail program does not accept or send letters, you can contact for help at [email protected]– Attach screenshots of the settings and the error message window to the letter.

The only difference: in the “Username” field you will need to enter your mailbox address in the format [email protected]. Of the two possible incoming mail protocols, we recommend choosing IMAP.

In addition, on mobile devices You can also work with mail through the web interface (login from the page https://mail.tut.by).

Unfortunately, the ability to set avatars on Yandex.Mail is not provided for TUT.BY users. Sometimes user photos selected based on the results of automatic data processing are added to the lines with sent letters. social networks. If you find an error (i.e. the sender’s avatar is not yours), you can contact Yandex support using the form feedback on the page https://yandex.ru/support/mail-new/web/preferences/about-sender-form.html#about-sender-form.
