Introduction
The G600 is an upgrade from last year's popular Honor device. The novelty received a different chipset, although in terms of performance it practically does not differ from the past. The diagonal has increased from 4 to 4.5 inches, the resolution has also increased, but quite a bit - from 480x854 to 540x960 pixels, the type of matrix has changed, there are a little more "ozushki", Honor Pro has two speakers instead of one. Overall, quite a good upgrade.
By the way, this model was demonstrated at the presentation together with the Ascend G500 Pro, which we reviewed earlier. I repeat once again that all these devices are united by the common concept of “More”. This means that devices have become more time consuming. autonomous work (increased battery capacity compared to the previous devices of the company), high capacities (multi-core processors) and a large number of slots for SIM-cards.
Since the G600 practically does not differ from the G500 Pro (even the video review was prepared simultaneously for both devices) and many similar gadgets, I will try to write the review briefly: I will only "voice" the main points.
Design, dimensions, controls
The device has a rectangular body, the corners are slightly smoothed, the side edges at a slight angle go to the back, forming a thin side. The edging on the front side is made of plastic, painted in silver. Most likely, over time, scuffs and scratches will appear on it. The back panel, made of white semi-glossy plastic, covers both the side edges and the back. No fingerprints or scratches are visible on light plastic.
There is also a version of the phone in dark gray.
Despite the sufficiently high-quality materials, the assembly in my sample was not all right: when squeezed in the hand, it crunched, the upper end of the rear panel did not adhere to the body completely - it was backlash. Since the display is protected by durable Corning Gorilla Glass, it is not easy to scratch it, at least after three weeks of active use of the phone, not a single "wrinkle" remained on the glass surface. The screen is non-marking and fingerprints are invisible.
The G600 fits quite well in the hand, but the dimensions could have been definitely smaller - the frames are too wide. Dimensions - 134x67x10.5 mm, weight - 145 grams. Interestingly, the Honor Pro is larger than the G500 Pro and weighs 11 grams less.
The front panel is traditionally located: front-camera, light and proximity sensors (functioning correctly), indicator of missed events (on or flashing green light) and an earpiece covered with a thin metal mesh. Its volume is slightly higher than average, but there is definitely no reserve, the interlocutor is heard relatively legibly and cleanly, the timbre is more or less pleasant.
A standard 3.5 mm headphone jack is located on the top end, on the left side there is a microUSB without a cap, on the right side there is a power button and a volume rocker (chrome-plated, almost recessed into the body, quite comfortable), below is a microphone.
Under the display - three touch buttons: "Back", "Home" and "Menu". They are translucent, i.e. during the day they can be seen, and at night or in a dark room you can see a bright white glow of the contours.
There are stereo speakers at the back. There are not many dual speaker smartphone models available today. Naturally, this is unusual and useful feature! Speaker speakerphone on the G600 are covered with the same thin metal mesh as the voice speaker.
Above there is a flash, a camera module slightly rising above the body, a second microphone for noise cancellation during a conversation.
To take off back panel, it must be pry off by the notch on the left corner. The SIM card is inserted into the metal slide on the right, and the memory card slot is located slightly higher and to the left, hot swappable is supported.

Display
Compared to last year Huawei Honor new model acquired a larger diagonal - 4.5 inches and a higher resolution - 540x960 pixels. The Huawei G500 Pro has the same resolution. We could have increased the density, but then the G600 would become a competitor to Honor 2.
The physical screen size of Honor Pro is 56x99 mm, PPI is 244, aspect ratio is 16: 9. Despite the fact that the G500 Pro also has an IPS matrix, its quality is much worse. The touch layer is capacitive, it works up to 5 simultaneous touches, the sensitivity is good.
The viewing angles of the screen are large, the brightness only decreases slightly under tilts. In general, the Huawei Honor Pro display has high brightness and excellent color reproduction. It does not fade much in the sun, information is read relatively easily.

Battery
This smartphone uses a 1930 mAh, 4.2 V, 7.1 Wh lithium polymer battery. The battery model is HB5R1. The exact same battery is installed in the Huawei Ascend G500 Pro. The most interesting thing is that the operating time of both models practically does not differ, despite the different chipsets and screen diagonals.
According to my experimental data, in talk mode the Honor Pro battery sat down after about six hours, in video playback mode at maximum brightness (high sound level, output to headphones) - it was discharged in about 3.5 hours, music playback in headphones was enough for 40 hours at high volume and for 3 hours in game mode.
On average, the battery life was just under 12 hours. My scheme of using the G600 was as follows: 20-30 minutes of calls a day, about two hours of listening to music, about an hour of watching videos, the same amount of camera use, two hours of working with wi-Fi network and 4 hours of 3G (Twitter, mail, Skype, application installation).
Memory, memory card
Marketing is a very interesting thing, look: there is a G500 with a price of 8,000 rubles and there is a G600 with a price of 9,000 rubles, it is logical to assume that the former has less RAM than the latter. But no. In order not to compete with their own devices, marketers decided to specifically worsen the parameters of Honor Pro in order to buy the G500: they say, we installed two speakers in the G600 and larger screen, but the G500 is slightly cheaper and the memory is 1 GB. In total, the monitored device has 768 MB of RAM and approximately 320 MB of free space.
To install applications, 1 GB is allocated in the phone. Naturally, you can designate a memory card as main memory.
Camera
There are two modules: the main 8 MP (BSI - "backside illumination") with autofocus, the front 0.3 MP without autofocus. There is a small two-section LED flash. The maximum resolution of the main camera is 3264x2448 pixels. Oddly enough, but the video is recorded in low resolution - 864x480 pixels. Apparently, they did this in order to increase the number of frames, since other devices shoot HD, and fps drops to 15. Probably, the Qualcomm MSM8225 chipset is to blame, since everything is in order on MTK6577.
The quality of photos on the Huawei G600 is significantly better than on the G500 Pro: the picture is clearer, the detail is higher, the white balance is correct, the focus is faster and more accurate, and the colors are more natural.
Unfortunately, you can't get more information from EXIF.

Performance and software platform
This smartphone is equipped with the simplest Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 - MSM8225: 45 nm process technology, AMRv7 instruction set, maximum frequency - 1.2 GHz (two ARM Cortex-A5 cores), Adreno 203 graphics accelerator. If we compare Qualcomm MSM8225 and MediaTek MT6577 chipsets, then I did not notice the difference.
This chip runs Highscreen Blast, Boost (similar to MSM8260), Strike, HTC Desire X, HTC Desire SV, Alcatel Scribe Easy and many others.
As far as I know, on this model There are no Android 4.1 firmwares, and it seems like there are no plans to update.
Multimedia
A standard music player is used. The volume in the headphones is high enough to listen to music without any problems, for example, on the subway or on the street. I liked the sound quality.
Two loudspeakers give out rather high volume, the quality is good, I did not observe overloads.
The radio is also familiar - 87.5 - 108 MHz.
The smartphone plays video in resolution up to HD in low bitrate.
Conclusion
If we consider Huawei Honor Pro only as a slight upgrade of Huawei Honor, then we can say for sure that the device was a success. However, if we take the device separately, then there is nothing unusual or remarkable about it: not the lowest price, ordinary chipset, low screen resolution, relatively large dimensions. Nevertheless, it uses a high-quality display matrix, a good camera, two speakers and a nice shell.

Design
This "spatula" from Huawei received a classic design. Soft anti-aliasing at the ends, rounded corners and a plastic case - this type is very widespread among smartphone models. But given the affordable cost of the device, one should not be surprised - unnecessary delights are not needed for those who are looking for a good two-SIM device.
Mechanical buttons are located on the right side and are easily felt blindly. The bottom panel has a microUSB connector and microphone, while the top has a headphone slot. On the front side there is a front camera, a speaker, service sensors and three touch buttons.
The lid on the back has a beautiful pattern and slightly shimmers with mother-of-pearl. It also houses the speaker and camera.
Display
For a 5-inch screen, a matrix with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and multitouch support up to 5 touches is used.
When working with a smartphone, the pixels are noticeable, but not as much as they could be. The picture clarity is good, the brightness level is also sufficient. Job automatic tuning I did not like the brightness - it reacts quickly, but sometimes it sets absolutely the wrong level.
Ergonomics, keyboard, sound
The build is good, especially for a budget device. There is no feeling that any part will fall off. The cover is firmly attached to the body.
The on-screen keyboard has narrow keys in a portrait position, which, by the way, performed well. Sometimes the touch layer stubbornly refused to respond to touch, but these are most likely problems of the test sample, which will not be in the final version of the device.
The sound is quite consistent with the status of the device - budget.
Performance
Powered by a smartphone based on a dual-core processor MediaTek MT6572 with clock frequency 1.3 GHz. The Mali-400 acts as a graphical assistant. The amount of RAM is 512 MB, and 4 GB is allocated for data storage internal memory expandable.
In tests, the device shows average results, which is not surprising. AT daily work no problems. That is, to "sit" in in social networks and read some news, as well as watch a video and even play something not very resource-intensive, it is quite enough. Heating of the case was also noticed.
Interface and software
Control over the smartphone is carried out when android help 4.2.2. This is a classic interface and classic features - creating desktops, a notification curtain. All applications are placed in a separate menu. From the lock screen, you can access either the desktop or the dialer, messaging and camera applications.
Camera
The Y600-U20 uses 5MP cameras for the main and 0.3MP for the front. The camera menu is simple and straightforward, no frills. There are settings for color effects and exposure, and three shooting modes are available - "Normal", "Panoramic" and "Response to smile."
The quality of the pictures corresponds to the standard 5 megapixel resolution. In landscape photos there is no clarity, often “soap” appears, an unsaturated color scale and not enough brightness. But nevertheless, this is enough for a portrait or recording of an event.
Videos can be shot at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Communications
