Iphone 5s disconnected connect to itunes. What if iPhone is disconnected, connect to iTunes? The use of cloud technologies

If your iPhone says “iPhone is disabled, try again in a few minutes,” or worse, “iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes. ”, Help is nearby. Here's how to fix these error messages and get your phone working again.

If you've entered the wrong password many times, your iPhone will lock up, but that's not a horrible problem. In this article, we will show you how to unlock your iPhone using iTunes (or iCloud). For more general recommendations, see the article "How to recover forgotten code access ".

Disable iPhone error messages

Here's a relatively common but disturbing notification that you may have seen on your iPhone.

“IPhone is locked. Repeat in a minute "

It's not too bad. However, it could be worse:

“IPhone is locked. Repeat in 60 minutes. "

Scary. But there is a message that is worse than the previous ones:

“IPhone is locked. Connect to iTunes "

These error messages range from a little inconvenient to completely incompetent, but you definitely shouldn't ignore them. If you see the third message, things are not good: you can unlock it if you connect to iTunes, but your phone data will be destroyed as part of the recovery process, so we hope you made a backup.

What does this error message mean?

These messages almost always mean that you entered the wrong password many times (or someone else - maybe you let your child play with your smartphone?) And the iPhone is locked to protect itself from a possible hacker attack.

iPhone has powerful security measures built in, and one of them is designed to prevent brute force attempts to bypass passwords.

If the thief of your phone can just guess the password - and especially if he can connect it to the part softwarewho can guess much faster than a person - then, in the end, the phone will be jailbroken. Therefore, if you use a four-digit code, then remember that there are only 10,000 combinations that a person can hack in 4 hours and 6 minutes, and a computer in 6 minutes and 34 seconds.

To stop this approach, iOS deliberately makes it difficult to enter a large number of incorrect passwords. Enter it wrong several times (up to five times), and you can continue working as usual, making six or seven wrong attempts, the phone will slow you down a little, but the more wrong you are, the more difficult it will be. Once you get to 10 times, that's it - no more trying.

How error messages (and time delays) react to the number of incorrect attempts:

  • 6 Wrong Attempts: iPhone is locked. Try it in a minute.
  • 7 Wrong Attempts: iPhone Locked. Try it in 5 minutes.
  • 8 Wrong Attempts: iPhone is locked. Try it in 15 minutes.
  • 9 Wrong Attempts: iPhone is locked. Try it in 60 minutes.
  • 10 Wrong Attempts: iPhone Locked. Connect to iTunes.

In other words, the way to avoid these messages in the future is to be more careful when entering your password, use Touch ID if your phone supports it, or not use a passcode at all (although for security reasons, we don't recommend the latter option) ...

Please note that the time delays noted above are automatically activated on your iPhone and cannot be disabled.

However, there is an interconnected and more drastic security measure that is optional: one that will completely destroy the device if someone enters the wrong access code 10 times in a row. This can be useful if your iPhone contains data that should never fall into the wrong hands.

Go to settings, then click on Id & Password (then enter your password) and if you scroll down you will see a radio button next to Erase Data.

Wait

For all 9 wrong guesses, all you have to do is wait. (You will notice that "try again in X minutes" is counting down so you can see how much is left.) You cannot do something while you wait, but if you want, then do emergency calls - tap at the bottom labeled "Emergency Call".

After the time-out period expires, your iPhone screen will change to a normal background and you can try again. But it is very important that you enter your password when you get the chance. If you go wrong again, you will go to the next waiting period.

Once you get to the 60 minute wait, you have your last life. Make a mistake again and you will be locked until you connect your iPhone to iTunes and the data on the device is restored.

If you are approaching 10 times, be careful. Maybe you wrote down the correct password somewhere, or is there anyone else who knows?

It might be worth jotting down every guess you have from now on (and any you've entered earlier), but that's just to help the memory focus - pretty cleverly, iOS counts multiple entries of the same invalid passcode as some wrong guesses so you don't have to worry about wasting any guesses that are repeated.

If you reach the 10th wrong guess, you need to move on to the next section of this tutorial.

Restore your iPhone by connecting to iTunes

You have reached the limit of the wrong code guesses and we are very sorry that you will have to erase iPhone data. You will be able to recover data from your last backupif that consolates you. You made a backup, didn't you?

You can restore via iTunes or via iCloud. We'll deal with iTunes first - it's easier.

Connect your iPhone to the Mac or PC that your phone normally syncs with, and launch iTunes if it doesn't automatically.

(This may not be possible for various reasons. Syncing with a Mac or PC is much more difficult than before and you may not have a machine synced to your iPhone. In this case, you will need to use recovery mode or restore via iCloud. ITunes may also ask password when connecting, which is bad news in this case. Try the recovery mode, which we'll explain below.)

Wait for iTunes to be able to sync your device, then click "Recover iPhone Data" and follow the onscreen instructions. Once iTunes finishes erasing iPhone data, you will be taken to the Setup screen - as if you were setting up a new device. At this point, you can select the "Recover from iTunes Backup" option and choose the correct backup.

More about deleting iPhone data see How to reset or erase your iPhone or iPad.

Use recovery mode

Recovery Mode is a more drastic method of cleaning up your device, and it might be worth trying if the above strategy doesn't work. Here's how to put iPhone into recovery mode:

  1. Connect the USB cable to your computer, but don't connect it to your iPhone.
  2. Launch iTunes.
  3. Press and hold the Home button and the Power off / On button for 10 seconds until the iPhone turns off.
  4. Hold the Home button but release the Power / Power button.

Plug in the USB Dock / Lightning connector to connect your iPhone to your Mac (continue to hold the Home button).

iTunes should provide a message stating that "iPhone was found in recovery mode."

Connecting to iTunes doesn't fix the problem

Customization disabled iPhone not always an easy process as described above. Some iPhone owners find that connecting a disconnected iPhone to iTunes doesn't perform any function.

If you've tried both iTunes wipe and recovery mode, you can try erasing with iCloud, which we'll cover in the next section.

Restore your iPhone using iCloud

An alternative way to erase a disabled iPhone and restart it is to use iCloud - this is possible, however, if you've set up Find My iPhone and if the disabled iPhone has access to data.

On your Mac (or iPhone, iPad), go to icloud.com and click Find iPhone. You will have to enter your Apple account password.

After waiting, a map will appear that will show you the location of your device. Click "All Devices" at the top. Then select the iPhone you want to erase and click Erase iPhone. you can exercise using the app. read in our post.

If you enter the password incorrectly on the iPhone several times in a row, the device will be locked, and the message "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes" will appear on the screen. How to unlock your smartphone in order to access it and, if possible, return data - read on.

After several incorrect attempts to enter the password, the iPhone is locked and completely encrypts the files stored on it. Thanks to this, no attacker can hack into the device and gain access to the user's photos, applications and documents.

Features of the procedure:

  1. Data can be restored only if a backup was made before (with using iTunes, iCloud or third-party software).
  2. If the device has not previously been synced with iTunes, then you can unlock it and reset the password only with complete loss of data.
  3. If partial synchronization with iCloud (contacts, calendar, notes) was enabled on the iPhone, then you can return the data after authorization in the account apple records ID.
  4. If the backup was made via third-party software, then reset the password via iTunes before starting the recovery procedure.

To remove the notification from the screen of a disabled iPhone and unlock it, you need to full reset... This can be done in different ways.

Unblocking via iTunes

If the iPhone is synchronized with the computer, then it can be unlocked via aytyuns. In this case, all data and password stored on the device will be permanently erased:

  1. Use a USB cable to connect iPhone to the computer that you previously synchronized with.
  2. Launch iTunes. If a message appears on the screen asking you to enter a password, enter it.
  3. If there is no access to the old password, then use another computer (to which the iPhone was also connected). Otherwise, go to the next data reset method.
  4. Wait for iTunes to automatically sync with your device and create a new backup. If this does not happen, then click on the smartphone icon and in the "Settings" section select the "Browse" item. Check the box next to "Sync automatically if iPhone is connected."
  5. When the backup is complete, on the Overview tab, click the Restore iPhone button.
  6. A settings screen will appear, offering several methods for transferring data. Select "Restore from iTunes copy" and select the desired backup from the list (they differ in the date of creation, size).

Wait until the end of the procedure. After that, the device can be disconnected from the computer and used. The iPhone will be unlocked and the data transferred.

Unlock via recovery mode

If you have not synchronized with iTunes, then you can fix the error "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes" using the recovery mode. In this case, all data stored on the device will be irretrievably lost:

  1. Download and install iTunes on your computer from the official Apple website.
  2. Run the program and connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable.
  3. Call up the recovery mode screen on your smartphone. To do this, simultaneously hold and hold the Home and Top Side (iPhone 6S and earlier), Top Side, and Volume Down (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus) buttons. For iPhone 8 and newer, first press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons one at a time, and then hold the top side button.
  4. ITunes will display a notification that says “There is a problem with the iPhone; it needs to be updated or restored ”, which means that the program was able to find problems.
  5. If the message does not appear, then try turning off and then turning on the smartphone, or use another method to unlock.
  6. Click "Update" to try updating system files iPhone. In this case, all user data will be saved.
  7. If this does not help, then select "Restore" to force the device back to factory settings (user information will be deleted).

The method is suitable for cases when the iPhone was locked as a result of an incorrect password entry, when other system errors... After hard recovery you need to re-configure your smartphone. To do this, log in with your Apple ID or create a new one account.

Password reset via "Find My Phone"

If there is no access to the computer, then the disconnected iPhone can be unlocked without iTunes. To do this, use Apple's Find My Phone feature. The method is relevant only if at the time of blocking the device it was turned on:

  1. Using a computer or other mobile device log in to your account iCloud records... To do this, enter your Apple ID and passcode.
  2. Go to the list of available devices and find the iPhone you want here (which gives an error and asks to connect to iTunes).
  3. Click on the "Erase iPhone" button and confirm the action.

When the operation is completed, all data will be permanently deleted. If you have previously backed up files via iCloud, iTunes or third-party software, then you can copy them to iPhone.

Reset via Tenorshare 4uKey

Tenorshare 4uKey is a small utility that allows you to release the lock in case of an incorrectly entered or forgotten password (if the iPhone says "connect to iTunes"). Suitable when the user does not have access to iTunes and other recovery tools:

  1. Download and install the program from the official website. The trial version is distributed free of charge and is available for OS X and Windows operating systems.
  2. Launch the software and connect iPhone to computer via USB
  3. Wait for 4uKey to detect your device and press the blue Start button to clear the error message. After that, all user information will be erased from the smartphone.
  4. Next, the program will offer to restore the operating system of the iPhone. If you already have the iOs firmware file, then use the "Browse" button to specify the path to it. Click "Download" for 4uKey to download itself the version you want through the Internet.
  5. The following screen will then appear on your computer. Click "Unlock Now" to unlock.

Wait until the end of the procedure, and disconnect the device. After that, configure the iPhone, come up with a new access code and specify other security parameters.

Recovering data after a reset

Password reset involves the complete destruction of all user information that is currently stored in the device's memory. You cannot return it without an access code. If the iPhone owner has previously used sync and backup tools, then you can make a backup.

Available methods:

  1. Via iTunes. To do this, connect your device to your PC and go to the "Overview" tab. In the "Data Recovery" section, select one of the available copies and wait for it to download to your iPhone.
  2. Through third-party software. This method is only suitable if other software was used for backup.
  3. Through iCloud. If you used synchronization of phonebook contacts, calendar entries and notes, then after resetting to factory settings, start the smartphone. Wait for the "Programs and Data" block to appear. Find and select "Recover from iCloud copies»And log in with your Apple ID.

If the device has never been synced with iTunes, iCloud or other software, then it will not be possible to return user files. Therefore, in order to avoid losing important information, use the backup functions.

iPhone disabled

Are you afraid your iPhone will freeze when you enter the wrong password? Our iPhone is left unused, locked, not entering the correct password, this is one of the worst nightmares for users. This is a risk that is always there, and if it does, entails in most cases the loss of a significant part of our personal information stored.

With this article, we want to clear up your doubts arising during the blocking process, and also guide you to know what to do if you have ever been disconnected from the iPhone message, then after connecting to iTunes or iCloud.

Let's start with the basics: What must happen for our iPhone to freeze? For our phone to freeze completely, several incorrect passwords must be entered a certain amount of time. In particular, after entering 5 keys, erroneous, our range from 6 to 10 attempts during the period of uselessness will pass from 1 minute, gradually, to complete blocking in case there are 10 passwords.

We will know that we are saying passwords in the plural, because entering the same password incorrectly several times is counted only as one attempt.

Between 1 and 9 attempts, we will be free from danger, and, at most, we will only have time without access to the phone. But, unfortunately, after you entered the tenth contrse? A incorrectly, there will be no turning back, and already we can only take drastic measures for recovery.

Recover and Activate iPhone Locked

Solution for iPhone recovery if it is turned off, it is forced to delete all the information it contains. Many people come to the Apple Store hoping that your employees know a way around this solution, but we have to say that this is a misconception.

What we can do is retrieve the data that we could from the backup we made in iTunes or iCloud. Let's see the pros and cons of each option.

We must keep in mind that the process will have two stages: first, deleting data, and then restoring from a backup. We can both implement them with iTunes or iCloud, and we can use both means in the process: start with one and end with the other, and vice versa.

Step 1 - Deleting Data

Before proceeding, you are warned that you must have a backup of your iPhone, because in this process we will erase all data from the device, and only you will restore those that you have on your copy.

Via iTunes

The big difference is that deleting data using iTunes you can, that we do not need to re-enter our Apple ID and password, provided that we use the same computer from which we synchronized and, if possible, that no one has entered with Apple ID otherwise.

But there is an alternative method to delete data from iTunes, which will not depend on the frequency with which we connected to our computer account that we use, and saves us the step of entering the password from our Apple ID. We're talking about entering dFU modewhich have already been explained in another article, and we carry out the restore from iTunes, as I will explain later in step 2.

Via iCloud

If we are already registered with iCloud and we have the Find My iPhone option enabled before we lock our iPhone, then you can log into Find My iPhone iCloud.com to delete the data from your device. To do this, we will start a session with our Apple ID and your password, put a terminal among all our Apple devices, and select the "Erase iPhone" item.

Step 2 - data recovery

Your iPhone is still disabled, and so after deleting our iPhone data from iTunes or iCloud, how to proceed depends on whether you have backed up to iTunes, to iCloud, or if you don't have a backup. You must follow these instructions, you will see once on iPhone white screen initial setup:

  • If you backed up using iTunes, select "restore from iTunes."
  • If you have made an iCloud backup, when you start your iPhone after deleting, the phone setup process will appear, and in time will give us the opportunity to restore the information stored in iTunes or iCloud. Select this option to restore your data stored in the cloud.
  • If you haven't saved any backups, I'm afraid you have no choice but to complete your phone settings and start from scratch, from your mobile.

The second way is to reset your password

If your device is already disabled or has not yet managed to do this, but still asks for a password, then you should proceed in a more restrictive way. However, it will cause all information on your device to be erased. If there is a pre-made backup, that's good. Well, if not, then you will have to sacrifice all the data to unlock the device.

This method of unlocking your iPhone will come in handy if you have already tried the first method, but nothing happened. Now you have deliberately made the decision to completely collect the phone, including all the information on it. In case you have a backup of your device, then things are a little easier for making a decision to reset.

Attention! If your backup is encrypted, then the password will also be saved with it and after restoring the device you will still need an access code.

The password is reset as follows. To do this, you need to put the device into recovery mode - DFU. With this mode, you can completely reset your iPhone or iPad to factory settings.

All methods are indicated for Apple devices with iOS 7 and higher. Now you know how to reset your password on your device.

iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes

Most likely, you have already encountered a situation when the smartphone displayed the message "iPhone is disconnected, connect to iTunes." This happens if you enter an incorrect combination of numbers in the password field six times in a row. The proprietary aytyuns program will help to remove this inscription and regular computer... With the help of the software, you can reset the counter and unlock the phone if you forget the code.

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi on the device.
  2. We connect the iphone to the computer using the cable that comes with it.
  3. Turn on iTunes
  4. When the program recognizes the device, go to "Devices - Synchronize with" select iPhone 4 or which one you choose.
  5. After synchronization, you can continue to try to enter the password, but if they are unsuccessful, we will try to reset it, how to unlock an iPhone without a password, read the next section.

Unlock after jailbreak

How to remove password from iPhone if jailbreak was installed? About 10% of Apple devices have undergone this procedure at least once, so the topic of password reset during jailbreak is more than relevant.

For hacked devices, the above methods will not work; here you will have to act a little differently. If you install new firmware in the process of password recovery, difficulties may arise when activating the iPhone, and this is already another, more difficult task.

Recall that without activation, it is impossible to connect to cellular operator, any SIM cards will be blocked. To get around this problem, you will have to contact service center, but not the fact that even they can help.

What to do if jailbreak is installed and you need to reset iPhone password? Everything is quite simple, when installing Cydia, most likely you clicked install the OpenSSH component, without it you will not be able to get into the phone. OpenSSH is an application that "listens" to the connection from the computer if you plug in the sync cable.

You can reach your iPhone using the SemiRestore program installed on your PC. SemiRestore connects via OpenSSH, removes settings, files, applications, leaving a clean phone without losing jailbreak.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Installing SemiRestore on your computer
  2. We connect the smartphone to the PC.
  3. We launch SemiRestore and wait for the device to be recognized by the program.
  4. After successful synchronization, press the "SemiRestore" button.
  5. The phone will reboot several times.
  6. We are waiting for the end of the procedure.
  7. We check the absence of a password and the presence of Cydia on the device.
  8. We restore data from a backup using aytyuns or analogs of this program.

Finally

If iTunes throws unknown error 14 during reset iPhonejust don't touch anything and let them be together for 30 minutes in this state. If your iPhone does not turn on and does not respond to charging, clean the connector from dirt. Your iPhone just ran out of power. The iPhone can handle it without tuna.

Case: iPhone is disabled, connect to itunes

Third unlock method

If iPhone is locked, it can be unlocked through recovery mode. In doing so, we will save all user data. We connect the iPhone to a computer with iTunes (previously used) and wait for the device to be recognized. Next, we start creating a backup - it will take time. The copy will contain all data, including music, photos and videos.

  • We turn off the power of the device and connect it to the computer with iTunes installed.
  • Press simultaneously two buttons - "Home" and "Power", hold them for ten seconds.
  • We release the "Power" button and wait another 10 seconds, after which we release the "Home" button.
  • After finding the iPhone, the iTunes application will offer to start the restore from the backup - we agree and wait for the end of the procedure.

Everything is ready - we have an unlocked device at our disposal, ready for further work.

Reasons for the appearance

To begin with, it should be said that this warning is related to the quality of smartphone protection, by the way, it is organized efficiently on the iPhone. The thing is that it is possible to set a password on a device that can protect important information from potential privacy breaches. This system functions highly efficiently, but sometimes it is inconvenient to use it, including for the user himself.

Its principle of operation is that after failed attempts to enter a cipher (erroneous), the smartphone is blocked and all information is deleted. You can reanimate them only through the backup version stored in iTunes, respectively, because of this, such a notification appears.

The user has 6 password attempts. This is usually enough to focus and remember the combination. If not, then a notification pops up on the screen that the iPhone is disconnected, you need to connect to iTunes, and you need to look for methods to unlock it.

How to unlock an iPhone if it is disabled and requires connecting to iTunes

The device itself recommends connecting to iTunes, but in fact, you can unlock it in other ways if the iPhone is disabled. But at the same time, system recovery with the recommended option is the simplest and most convenient. Although it's up to you to choose how to make it easier and faster.

We use iTunes

It should be noted right away that in reality this procedure is not unlocking a certain device, with gaining access to the information stored on it. This process consists of two stages, which are related to each other:

    reset iPhone to factory settings, with the deletion of all data stored on it;

    restoring the information and settings of the device again, from the backup version stored in iTunes.

You must be prepared for the fact that not all parameters will be restored in the same form in which they were originally, you may even have to make settings in manual mode... So, be careful about entering your password. But usually all the information available on the device is fully reanimated.

If you think in advance that in an emergency you will return the function using this method, do not forget to regularly create backups and save them to iCloud.

How to unlock: step by step instructions

If a message appears stating that the iPhone is disabled and you want to unlock through iTunes, the algorithm will be as follows:

    connect the smartphone to the PC with a cable;

    activate iTunes on your computer;

    enter the password for the service, if necessary;

    look for the "Overview" tab and tap on it;

    scroll the window that opens to the item "Backups", click on it;

    create a backup of the system on your PC (the storage location should be selected "This computer" to create a copy not only with parameters, but also with multimedia files);

    disconnect the iPhone from the PC and turn it off;

    turn off iTunes;

    reconnect the switched off phone to the PC and activate the iTunes device on it;

    on the smartphone, simultaneously hold down the lock / power on / off buttons and the key;

    hold them in this position for about ten seconds;

    release the key.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that after the performed actions, the iTunes service must find the device connected in recovery mode and offer to perform this recovery.

Wait for the question to appear on the computer monitor. Tap on the Restore button and leave your iPhone for a while.

This procedure can take a long time, you cannot stop it. You do not need to disconnect the device from the computer, and allow the shutdown of the PC itself.

The recovery process sometimes takes from 30 minutes to several hours (it all depends on the power level of the equipment, the amount of memory, settings, etc.).

Then start your smartphone in normal mode (connected to iTunes). Choose the last backup in the service and download it - this will also take time. It should be noted that phones with more recent versions of the operating system are no longer able to make backups in a locked position. So you need to restore from the last saved one. So just in case make backups yourself.

Find My iPhone

This option will be useful if the user does not currently have access to a stationary PC. And also if there is no full backup in iTunes and there is no way to make it.

In the process of using the Find iPhone function, information from the cloud storage is used for recovery, which is quite enough to preserve the full functionality of the gadget. What to do?

    Go to Ayklud using your AppleID, you can do it from any device;

    Search your phone and remotely erase all information from your iPhone;

    Perform the initial setup;

    The data is now accessible.

If you receive a notification: "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes", you need to unblock it. Use the instructions or watch the video below.

Reset counter

Since the phone prompts you to connect to iTunes, the logical step is to follow this recommendation and connect the device to your computer.

This method will only work if you connect your iPhone to a computer with which the device was previously synced. If the above method does not help, continue with other troubleshooting options.

Restoring from a backup

This method is suitable if you regularly created backups, and at the time of one of the backups, a password was not set on the phone.

If there is no suitable backup, or it is password-protected in the same way as the current system, then a radical way remains - resetting the iPhone by resetting the settings and content.

Reset

Resetting settings and content will delete all user information from your phone. It will be possible to restore it from a backup copy - the main thing is that it is not password-protected.

Wait for iTunes to download and install latest firmware, then restore the data from the backup or set up the phone as new.

You can perform a factory reset remotely, as long as Find My iPhone has been enabled on your phone.

After deleting information from the device, the error will disappear. You can restore data from a backup or set up iPhone like new.

Almost all of us have had such cases when we forgot passwords from our own devices. This not very pleasant situation can happen to any owner of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. A message appears on the screen: “iPhone is disconnected, connect to iTunes”. What to do in this case? More on this below.

Everybody knows that apple devices reliably protected against those who try to crack the password. And with several incorrect key entries, the phone or tablet can go into this state.

If we have forgotten the password from the device, then we begin to iterate over everything possible options, but under this condition it can easily lock iPhone or iPad. What does this mean? After entering the wrong code more than six times, you will no longer be given attempts, and the following warning will be displayed on the device screen "IPhone is disconnected repeat after 1 min.".

And after entering the wrong password for the ninth time, you will be asked to connect to iTunes or try again after a longer amount of time - "IPhone disconnected connect to iTunes / iPhone disconnected please try again after 60 minutes"... All the following actions with devices were carried out when iOS version 9.2. In other versions, if the password is entered incorrectly, after a certain number of times, the device constantly increases the time for the next attempt. This means that the user has to wait longer and longer, and not solve the existing problem.

Here is how the mechanism works:

  • 5 incorrect attempts in a row - iPhone is disabled, repeat after 1 min
  • 7 incorrect attempts in a row - iPhone is disabled, repeat after 5 minutes
  • 8 incorrect attempts in a row - iPhone is disabled, repeat after 15 minutes
  • 9 incorrect attempts in a row - iPhone is disabled, try again after 60 minutes
  • 10 wrong attempts in a row - iPhone is disconnected connect to iTunes (or all data will be reset)

If you are faced with such a situation, do not despair. This can happen to anyone, and Apple has provided a course of action for users. You can return the device to work rather quickly if you follow one of the options described below. The methods are relevant for iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 8, iPhone 7. Older models are also suitable.

iPhone disconnected connect to iTunes - how to unlock?

So what to do when the iPhone says: “iPhone is disconnected, connect to iTunes” or “iPhone is disconnected, please try again after (a certain amount of time)?

If you have not backed up your device on a computer in advance, but it is important for you to save personal data on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, then this method will be useful to you. You will have to do a password reset using manual selection through iTunes.

For this method to work correctly, the program needs to recognize the iPhone. If the device was not recognized, then zeroing will fail. Also, nothing will come of it when connected to someone else's device. The fact is that with such a connection, you need confirmation of permission to read information from the device, both on the computer and on the iPhone. And to confirm the action on the phone, you need to unlock it, therefore, nothing will come of it.

In order for everything to work properly, connect your phone to the same computer that the iPhone previously worked with. If this is not possible, you can immediately proceed to the method described as follows.

If everything works, then follow the further instructions:

Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone to it. Right button mouse click on the phone icon or special button "synchronize". As soon as the synchronization process is started, immediately close it with the help of a small cross. However, sometimes to complete synchronization, you need to click on the arrow that appears immediately after clicking on the cross.

The password counter on the lock screen has now been reset. An iPhone or iPad that previously asked to re-enter the password after an hour or more has now reset the counter so you can keep trying. This procedure you can spend as long as you like until you remember the desired combination.

Even if the message about the request to connect to iTunes is displayed, we do everything the same. This is not the only option for what you can do if it says “iPhone is disabled”.

The second way is to reset your password

If your device is already disabled or has not yet managed to do this, but still asks for a password, then you should proceed in a more restrictive way. All information on your device will be erased. If there is a pre-made backup, that's good. If not, you will have to sacrifice all the data to unlock the device.

The password is reset as follows. You need to put the iPhone into recovery mode. Using this mode, you can completely reset your iPhone or iPad to factory settings. Here's how it's done:

Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes.

  • iPhone 6s and older, iPad or iPod touch: Hold down the Power button and Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears on the screen, do not release the buttons. Keep holding them until recovery mode is activated. Recovery Mode.
  • iPhone 7 or 7 Plus: Hold down the power button and volume down button at the same time. Keep holding them until recovery mode is activated.
  • iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X / XS / XS Max / XR: Press and release the volume up button, then the volume down button. Now clamp side button... until recovery mode is activated.

ITunes will then detect your iPhone in recovery mode. The recovery will take some time, and then you will need to set up your smartphone again or restore your data from a backup.

Method three: how to fix the problem via iCloud

  • On your computer, open the website: icloud.com/find.
  • Log in with Apple ID and password.
  • At the top select All devices.
  • Select the one that is currently disabled.
  • Click EraseiPhone and confirm the action.

On the tablet, the message “iPad is disabled, connect to iTunes” will appear on the screen. How to unlock the device in this case? After all, restarting will not help, and synchronization with iTunes will not save us from the problem either.

To unlock the gadget, you can use the recovery mode

There are several ways to remove the error. They depend on whether you remember the passcode and whether you have a backup of your data.

You can protect your personal information on iPad. So it will ask for a four-digit code when it wakes up from sleep mode. It will not work to unlock the device by a banal selection of characters. If you enter the password incorrectly six times, the gadget will close access for a minute. And after ten attempts, it will display the message: "iPad is disabled, connect to iTunes." What if you forgot the code or another person tried to find it?

First, check if the device works with iTunes.

Reset password via iTunes

If you've synced iPad with your computer, it's easy to deal with the problem.

You can also click Update to clear the error. The program will load new version BY. This method is relevant for gadgets that do not have Jailbreak installed. Jailbreak - third party program, which opens access to files on iOS. Newer versions of the Apple operating system may not support this utility.

When you connect to your tablet, you still need to enter your password. What if you don't remember him? Reset iPad to factory settings and don't download a backup. This will cause you to lose your files and personal data. You will have to re-download all applications on the device and customize it for yourself. But this is better than helplessly looking at the inscription "iPad is disabled".

Synchronization is not possible. iTunes asks for a password or gives an error

If a in a simple way it did not work to remove the inscription, you have to do it through DFU (Device Firmware Update). it iPad mode, where you can reset the gadget to factory settings and download a new firmware. All files are deleted with it, and operating system is reinstalled.

Before that, try to unlock the device using sync with iTunes. Connect to all available computers on which the program is installed. If it doesn't work, go to the DFU method. This should be done like this:

If you haven't synced your device with iTunes and copied the data to your computer, you'll have to start from scratch. This is the only way to reset a forgotten password.

Making backups

After you've saved your device from error, reconnect to iTunes. In order not to lose your files, you must periodically make a backup.

  1. Launch iTunes and connect the gadget to your computer.
  2. Click on the button with the tablet drawn on it (it is at the top).
  3. Open Browse.
  4. Find the item "Create a backup".
  5. You can choose where to save your data - to your computer or to iCloud. After signing up for iCloud, you will have 5 gigabytes of cloud storage. This service has many useful functions... But it will be unavailable if the internet is disconnected.
  6. Now you will recover your data if something happens to your device.

Save your files to the iCloud cloud or duplicate them to another medium. Then you will not be scared by the inscription “iPad is disabled, connect to iTunes”. You already know what to do in such cases.

If you enter the wrong password several times, the smartphone will be locked and a notification will appear on the screen: iPhone is disconnected, connect to iTunes. How to fix the problem depends on whether you can remember the code or find the place where it was saved.

Solution methods

# 1: remembered / found password

Connect your phone with a cable to a computer with iTunes installed. A window will appear on the PC screen in which you need to select "Synchronize". Let the process begin, but after 10-15 seconds we interrupt it by clicking on the cross next to the status bar. This will reset the password attempt counter. You will have from 6 to 10 attempts to enter the code correctly.

# 2: the password is lost forever

In this case, there are two possible solutions to the problem:

  1. A backup was created through iTunes in advance. In this case, you need to recover from such a backup. The data that was downloaded to the device after the backup was created will be lost. Connect your phone to your PC via a cable. In iTunes, follow the path "File" \u003d\u003e "Devices" \u003d\u003e "Restore from Backup". In the window, select the previously created backup and confirm the restoration.
  2. There are no backups. All information on the device will be deleted. Turn off your phone completely - hold down the power button for 5 seconds. Connect the phone via a cable to the computer in such a way that at the time of connection home button was pinched. The iTunes and cable icon should appear on the phone screen. On the PC screen, in the iTunes window, the message "Having problems with ..." will appear - at the bottom, select "Restore". Confirm next steps. The program will download and install latest version Software for your device. It is recommended to do this on computers with a licensed OS, or make sure that the "pirate" is not truncated and it contains all the required system files. Thanks to this, during the firmware there will be no unexpected failures and you will overcome iPhone error disconnected connect to iTunes.
