Recovery concept operating system windows 7 (vista and windows 8 - similarly) can be viewed in different ways.

You can restore up to a certain point (rollback), and you can get exactly the same as purchased to the factory settings using the hidden section - recovery.

Most often among the user to restore windows 7 asus (others also) rollback is applied to the previous state.

To do this, save points must be created on your computer / laptop. This feature is enabled by default.

I will not describe this method here, since detailed description this procedure is in the article.

How to make a laptop asus restore to factory settings

Restoring the operating system to the factory settings of the laptop is also described on this site.

For your reference. Only there is a general description.

Below is purely for asus. To do this, enable it and click on the F9 button - you will see the download window.

The program will prepare the files needed for recovery, after that you will see a request.

The system will ask you whether to actually perform this operation, and that after that all your files (data) will be completely deleted.

During the process, the computer will restart several times - you will be warned about this.

Only such an operation is possible only if you bought your asus laptop with a preinstalled Windows 7 operating system or any other.

Then the hard disk may have a hidden recovery partition for recovery.

Another way to recover asus laptop system from hidden partition

Greetings, readers.

It is not uncommon for laptop users to encounter a problem when the operating system fails. And if earlier the device could be "brought back to life" only with the help of reinstall Windows, now there are several options at once. The first is to use the built-in solution located on the installation disc. The second is the Asus laptop system restore - the function will reset the hardware to factory settings. Of course, such methods are not only found on the aforementioned devices. Today I will talk about them and the standard ones.

All Asus laptops have a tool that allows you to restore the equipment to work. It is located on the hard drive and takes about 20-30 GB. The section is hidden. You can't just remove it, but there are tools that allow you to say goodbye to it. But still windows recovery 7 it is better not to touch the factory parameters.

It should be noted right away that this solution puts the laptop in the state in which it was purchased in the store. Therefore, all personal data and programs will be deleted from the system disk. If you have on your desktop or in the folder " My documents»There are important documents, it is better to save them in another place

This application is convenient in that it does not remove the previously installed drivers, and therefore there will be no need to waste time on this procedure again.

It is worth remembering that this decision perfect if the computer does not see the image on the installation disc.

Be sure to connect the device to a constant power supply before starting.

To start recovering from the recovery partition, you need to perform several steps:

Don't worry too much - just leave the laptop on for a while. The main thing is to wait for the desktop to appear. Process on different devices drags on from half an hour to one and a half.

It is only necessary to enter any data when choosing a username.

After completing the procedure, you can start personalizing the device, because now it will be the same as you purchased it in the store.

Windows disk( )

Another frequently used tool is System Restore, which is offered on the installation windows disk 8 or others latest versions... In this case, it is best to do this from a flash drive. The main thing is to prepare the appropriate portable memory in advance. To do this, you need an image of the system that is currently installed on the computer, and a special program. Let's say WinToFlash perfect for that. Just insert the device, launch the application and follow the prompts to create the desired item.

To restore, we do several movements:

Well, as usual, there are several ways to get your system back up and running. However, some of them refer to built-in capabilities.

Good day, dear readers of the blog life-crazy.ru. Today we will deal with the question "How to install windows 7" on your computer, it doesn't matter if you have a laptop, or a regular one ( stationary computer).

Although some say that there are differences in installation, in fact, the difference is very small, and this article will be enough for you to understand and install the OS (operating system) on both a laptop and a regular computer.

Objective: To learn how to reinstall the windows 7 operating system.

Similar articles:

2. How to do bootable USB drive windows 7?

How to install windows 7 from a USB flash drive is also not difficult. Let's first define what you want to do? Reinstall or install the system on your computer? Personally, I will give an example of reinstallation, but do not be alarmed, read the article carefully, and the question of how to install or reinstall windows 7 you will not have in the future!

My example will be given on my friend's laptop, the reason for the reinstallation is that it simply began to work poorly, slows down, freezes, etc. So let's get started.

How to install windows 7?

We need a disk with the operating system itself, a DVD drive (it's also a floppy drive and optical drive), straight arms and a bit of patience. Where can I get the OS? The operating system can be downloaded from the Internet there are just a bunch of them, it is advisable to download windows 7 Maximum, it is the most complete and works perfectly.

Although I prefer windows xp, by the way, I will write how to install this system in the future, subscribe to blog updates and follow the news.

I download assemblies from this site http://chipxp.ru/ both windows xp and windows 7. Just keep in mind that the seven is given for only 30 days for informational purposes, and the pig (windows xp) is already grunting, that is, hacked. Under the seven, you can use the keygen (aka a fake key - in a nutshell), but do this at your own peril and risk. How to grunt, I'll tell you too 😉

Downloaded the image, burned it to a disc, half the battle in the hat! If you do not know how to burn discs - subscribe to lessons, and I will gladly share this information.

We insert the disc into the optical drive, reboot the laptop and enter the bios. Many are damn afraid of this word BIOS, there is nothing complicated and deadly in it, especially if you DO NOT click anything, but follow the instructions strictly!

On different bios computers is called in different ways, it can be the keys: Esc, f10, f2, del, on some hp models met the Tab call key.

Found the key you need, called up the bios window. The very first window that you will see is general information, it is located on the Main tab (see photo).

There is nothing to touch here, the arrows on the keyboard move to the Boot tab.

What do we need here? And here we need to set it to boot from the dvd drive, find the line Boot option # 1 (in my case) and set our drive there, in my case it is marked in red, then press "enter". We press the f10 key (save the settings), confirm, press the Esc key and the computer went to reboot.

Great, everything is going according to plan. As soon as your pet picks up the download from the drive, you will see an inscription of such a plan (see screenshot).

Which can be translated as “press any key to boot from dvd drive. Press any button and see this picture.

Windows downloads the required files. We are waiting for the download to finish and see a window of such a plan (see photo)

In this window, you must specify the language, time format and keyboard layout. Often, they leave "Russian" everywhere, press the "next" button, then install.

And again a window of such a plan pops up, in which you need to specify the desired operating system "Windows 7 Maximum", it happens that the choice is not provided.

Then follows license agreement, put a tick that agree and click "next". For yourself, you can read what they write there;). 10 seconds is enough for our people to familiarize themselves with the CD.

Then comes the installation type, choose the lower option - complete installation.

And finally, we got to the most crucial moment, if you reinstall the system, you can accidentally confuse the disk on which to install windows 7 and all your data will fly away.

Do not rush, it is better to spend a little more time at the initial stage than to wait for days afterwards while your information is restored.

Look, there is such a nuance: many do system disk (disk C) large in volume - this is WRONG! Disk C should be no more than 50-70 GB, only the operating system is installed on it and that's all required programs, those that can later be deleted without regret.

All important files: store music, photos, videos, pictures on the second (logical) disk! We select the partition on which the OS will be installed, you can simply format it, but I act through deletion: I delete the main partition and the partition reserved by the 100MB system.

Then I just create a section.

I format and install windows 7.

What is the difference between installing and reinstalling? The difference is that when installing on a new PC, you need to mark up the partitions yourself, and not format the ready, pre-divided one.

We are waiting for the necessary files to be copied, at the time of installation, the computer will be restarted several times, do not click anything!

Wait for such a window (see photo)

Enter the desired computer name in it and click next. You will be greeted by the following window, where you can set a password for the user, I leave it blank, that is, no password.

The desktop is being prepared, perhaps the computer will go to reboot again - that's how it should be.

After you see a clean desktop, I can congratulate you. Now you know how to install windows 7. But the workflow is not yet complete, you need to check which drivers were not installed and deliver them.

To do this, on the tab "my computer", right-click and from context menu select the item "Management", in the window that opens, look for "Device Manager".

A list of all devices that are in the computer will appear on the right, items marked with a question mark and exclamation markrequire drivers to be installed.

Drivers can be taken from the Internet, often from the official site, you can also use the disk that came with motherboard (if a stationary PC) or with a laptop.

After installing the drivers, you need to install programs: office programs, archivers, graphics, etc., at your discretion.

Reinstall Windows several times, fill your hand and you will no longer need to pay 500-800 rubles for reinstalling the system by calling the wizard at home.

If you still have questions, ask them in the comments.

Best regards, Alexander Mikhed.

Installing windows 7 on an asus laptop

Installing windows 7 on an asus laptop is not much different from installing an OS on a stationary computer. Therefore, let's go through all the installation steps together so that you can do it yourself if necessary. Hello everyone, today on the blog for novice computer users, we will be installing windows 7 on an Asus laptop.

So we start with the first step, and the self-preparation of the laptop for this action and the installation itself.

  • If the operating system is being installed for the first time, it is necessary to partition the hard disk into at least two partitions. One will have the windows7 OS, the other will have everything that you load into it. This can be done with various programs, but I usually use Acronis Disk Director 11 Home, which can be downloaded from the Internet for free. I will not describe how to use it, as there is enough information on this topic on the Internet.
  • We press the start button of the asus laptop and almost immediately the F2 key, and several times, until the main BIOS window opens.
  • Using the navigation keys, go to the BOOT section and set the priority for CD / DVD to the first position. To do this, using the navigation keys "highlight" the item CD / DVD and press ENTER. Then we put it in the first position and again ENTER. After the changes have been made, press F10 and then ENTER, thereby confirming your actions.

  • The laptop will restart, so after waiting for the start to start, intermittently press the SPACE key several times. This will launch the CD / DVD drive and then the window for installing windows 7 on your asus laptop will open.
  • Select the partition for installing the OS, usually this local disk "FROM". Next, wait until the installation of windows 7 is completed.
  • After that, we install additional software, this is done by starting the WPI application, which is also located on the installation disk.
  • Next, we reboot the laptop and go back to the BIOS, where we repeat all the steps in point 3, but return the priority for the hard drive by setting it to the first position, or FIRST.
  • If you still have a branded disk with drivers for an asus laptop, insert it into the CD / DVD drive and wait for it to start and install the drivers. Here you can also configure their update.
  • In the event that you do not have such a disk, go to the official asus website and download the driver package specifically for this operating system and the configuration of your computer or laptop.

How to determine the configuration of a laptop

In the windows 7 operating system, this is done in two clicks, and itself:

  1. Hover the cursor over the "Computer" icon;
  2. Right button open the "Properties" section and get information.

I highlighted the basic information as shown in the screenshot with a red line. But I think that specifically for this case, the main thing will be the type of system, that is, its bit capacity.

In this article, we have discussed the main steps for installing windows 7 on asus laptop a if you have questions, then ask them in the comments, none of them will be left unattended.

Installing windows 7 on a laptop from a disk - step by step instructions

Do you want to know how to install Windows 7 on a laptop for free? Faced the need to reinstall your operating system, but don't know how to do it? Our step-by-step installation guide will help you find answers to these and many other questions.

We will tell you about three options for booting windows 7: from a USB - flash drive, CD and directly from a computer. In addition, you will learn how to configure BIOS for any of these options. Our instruction for dummies will help you reinstall windows yourself and solve other related tasks.

Undoubtedly installing windows much easier than, for example, installing an android, nevertheless, we have to figure out something.

Important: read before starting installation

When installing windows 7, first of all, you need to determine the characteristics of your computer. If its RAM is less than 2 GB, then a 32-bit operating system (OS) with an 86-bit platform is suitable for you. Most modern laptops have brackets random access memory more than 2 GB, in this case you can safely install a 64-bit OS.

You can get information about the amount of memory by opening the properties of the computer. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop, select properties from the menu, and see what Installed memory (RAM).

Preparing to install the OS

Do not forget that the partition on which you are installing will be formatted and the information will be deleted. All the data you need should be saved in the section of the computer that will not be formatted, or on external media.

To install, you need a bootable CD or USB flash drive where windows 7 is located. Another option is virtual image systems, the features of which are described below.

Burning the distribution disc

To create boot disk from scratch, we need:

  1. a clean blank that needs to be checked for damage and dirt, since any defects can lead to failure during recording;
  2. downloaded from the internet ISO image OS;
  3. program for recording.

There are a lot of programs: Nero Burning Rom, UltraIso, CDBurnerXP, InfraRecorder. In this case, we will use the modest Small CD-Writer utility, which must first be downloaded and installed.

After installation, we perform the following actions:

Thus, if the startup process on the computer is not disabled, and everything has been correctly recorded, then a menu should appear from which you can start installing windows.

Sometimes PC users wonder how to install windows 7 on a laptop without a disk and a flash drive? This installation method is possible, but only if the computer has a valid operating system:

BIOS options for booting from DVD

If you need to boot from CDs, you need to perform the same manipulations as when booting from USB, with the only difference - when specifying the boot location, instead of Hard Disk, you need to select CD ROM.

By the way, on some computers you can specify the boot device without going into the BIOS settings. If during the reboot at the bottom of the black screen you see the inscription Select Booting Device, then you have such an opportunity!

Pressing the corresponding key brings up a simple menu.

To select a hard drive or flash drive, we need:

After installation, you need to return to BIOS and set First Boot device - your hDD.

Installing windows 7 on a new laptop

If you purchased new computer, on which the OS is not installed, then it will be necessary to install through the BIOS. In addition, it may be necessary to install windows via bios (bios) after replacing the hard drive or in another case when other methods are not available.

You will need a removable medium - a disk or a bootable USB flash drive.

First you need:

In our case, this option is not suitable, since we are installing windows on an empty laptop without an OS.

Therefore, we have two other options: if you need to boot the system from a CD, select CD ROM, and if from a flash drive, then USB-HDD.

After the performed procedures, the computer will start to reboot, and during boot on a black screen you will see the inscription "Press any key to boot from cd or dvd". We press any button, after which it begins loading windows from the selected device.

Installation start

We made the BIOS settings, connected USB to a laptop, or put a CD in the drive. A reboot occurs, then the text appears on the screen: "Press any key to boot from CD / DVD". Click on any button, thereby starting the OS installation.

Installation language

We will be asked to select the installation language, then the input language, as well as the language of the windows OS interface.

Then click Install Now and read the license agreement, which must be confirmed by checking the box next to the inscription: "I accept the license agreement."

type of instalation

One of two ways can be used here:

  • full installation, which is supposed to format the hard drive. It is also called a "clean install";
  • renewal early version The OS currently installed on your laptop.

In the event that you have no important data left on the disk being formatted, it is preferable to choose the first option.

Which section to install

A pre-partitioned hard disk has several logical partitions. The OS partition must be formatted for a clean install.

If you want on your laptop, along with the already installed OS, for example, with windows 8, windows 7 acted as the second system, then it should be installed in another logical partition of the hard disk. Make sure that there is enough free space in the marked section for these purposes.

If you install windows 7 into an unformatted partition with an identical version of the OS, then all the old data will be placed in a separate folder windows.old, and you will be able to view the files of the old system, or you can delete it.

Formatting a partition

We select the section we need. Please note that we now have the opportunity to delete, format or create on new section on your hard drive. The windows installer only has quick format available, which is used to complete removal data.

Copy files and reboot

The program will copy the files, rebooting several times in the process. Then the OS will configure and check the hardware, after which it will ask you to enter the name of the computer, as well as your name to create account.

Activating windows

The system will ask you to provide a product key. You can also skip this step. Without activation, you can use windows for another 30 days. After entering the product key, you must confirm the activation.

Unlicensed versions of the OS can be activated using special programs.

Installing drivers

After the OS is installed, you need to take care of the drivers, without which the computer will not be able to work properly. Currently, there are various builds of windows with built-in drivers, but there is nothing better than using the "native" ones, which are usually found on the disk that comes with the laptop, or posted on the manufacturer's website.

Programs and utilities for working in the system

There are many various programs and utilities that you cannot do without when working on a computer. First of all, you need an antivirus, which you should install before going online. Then you will definitely need an archiver, an Internet browser, various codecs. And if you work with documents, then you also need office programs, eg Microsoft Office.

OS optimization

Optimization is needed to improve computer performance.

The main points that can be noted to improve its work:

  • disable visual effects. Sometimes external effects interfere with good performance, this is especially noticeable if an insufficiently powerful processor or a small amount of RAM is used in the computer filling;
  • disabling the autorun of unnecessary programs. Unnecessary programs in autoload load the processor and prevent it from performing the necessary actions;
  • disable unnecessary services. We absolutely do not need some services used by our computer;
  • removal of gadgets. Gadgets make it easier to work on a laptop, but at the same time, they waste system resources. Do not install them unnecessarily;
  • deletion unused programs;
  • removing unnecessary shortcuts from the desktop.
Video: Optimizing the Operating System

Windows 7 OS itself can tell you the necessary steps for optimization:

  1. click Start;
  2. go to the control panel, select "Counters and productivity tools";
  3. and now near the "?" search for “Tips to improve your computer's performance,” read and follow the instructions.

Installation errors

Sometimes problems occur when installing windows. For example, the OS cannot be installed. Or the laptop throws an error during use.

Users often face such difficulties as:

  • blue screen - most often this error occurs in connection with various problems random access memory. First of all, it is worth checking if the dust has gotten into the slots;
  • the laptop turns off - this problem can occur for very different reasons, but one of the main ones can be overheating of the laptop. Maybe it's time to clean it up. It is also likely that the difficulties are associated with improper operation of the power supply;
  • does not see the hard drive.

To solve this problem, you can try the following method:

Installation cost

Difficulties that may arise during the installation of windows 7 may stop you from thinking to reinstall it. The price of the issue is the stable operation of your laptop.

Most likely, you have wondered whether it is worth contacting specialists, or still save money and do everything yourself.

Leading computer service centers offer their repair and installation services. The price may vary depending on the complexity of the work. The minimum cost starts from 300 rubles. The maximum is usually not indicated.

How do I set the BIOS to boot from a USB flash drive on an Asus laptop? A few tips for installing windows 7 from a USB 3.0 stick

Hello! Yesterday I got my hands on a new laptop ASUS X501A. It was necessary to install windows, and everything you need is shorter on a turnkey basis :). I twisted it and found that there was no CD / DVD drive in it. And this means that you need to create a bootable USB flash drive and install windows 7 from it. Also, the drivers for it on the disk are included in the kit, you also need to rewrite to the USB flash drive. In general, it is strange, a laptop without a drive, and a driver on a disk. You need to put the driver in the kit on the USB flash drive, or an external drive :).

Anyway. I created a bootable USB flash drive. First created with special program windows 7 USB / DVD Download Tool (I wrote about this here), but I will say, running to the front, that for some reason the installation of windows 7 from this flash drive did not work. The white cursor just blinked and the installation did not proceed. I wrote down a bootable USB drive with with UltraISO and it all worked. Why so, I did not understand :).

That's it, the flash drive is ready. Now you need to install the boot from this flash drive in BIOS. Now I'll tell you how to do it.

We set the boot from a USB flash drive on an Asus laptop

We go into the BIOS. For me, and most likely for you, this is the F2 key (if not, then try DEL too). Press it immediately after starting the laptop.

The flash drive should already be connected to the laptop!

As you can see (in the screenshot below), I have a hard drive under Boot Option # 1. And under Boot Option # 2 is a flash drive. You need to install a flash drive under # 1.

To do this, click on Boot Option # 1 and select the USB flash drive. And the hard drive will automatically take second place.

You can return to the previous menu by pressing Esc and you will see that under Boot Option # 1 is installed USB device.

Don't forget to press F10 and Yes to save the settings.

Everything, after restarting the laptop, the boot from the USB flash drive should go (if it is created correctly).

There is one caveat. Perhaps I was mistaken when setting the parameters in BIOS, there probably you just had to create another rule for loading (Add New Boot Option). But that's okay.

If you did everything like me, then most likely, during the installation of windows, after the reboot, the boot from the flash drive will start. And you need from drive C to continue the installation. I just pulled out the flash drive at the time of the reboot. And when the download started from the C drive, I inserted it back (although it seems to be no longer needed for installation, the files have already been copied, but I could be wrong).

You may have noticed that my USB drive has a new USB 3.0 interface. And windows 7 does not support USB 3.0, you need special drivers.

If the drive itself is USB 3.0, then it's okay. Just plug it into a USB 2.0 port on your laptop and everything will work.

This is what the USB 2.0 connector looks like on a laptop:

And this is how the USB 3.0 connector looks like:

The third blue and two letters SS near the badge.

Well, if you have all USB 3.0, you will have to integrate the drivers into windows 7. This is already a topic for another article. Perhaps I'll write how to do it. In the meantime, you can find this information on the Internet.

You can also find and download an assembly with windows 7, which already has integrated drivers for USB 3.0. There are such.

On this site there is probably all the information that can be useful for installing the operating system and for solving problems that may arise during the installation process. You can use the site search. And if you can't find something, then ask in the comments, I will tell you :). Good luck!

How to install windows 7 on Asus X55A

Today I'll tell you an epic how I installed windows 7 on an Asus X55A laptop, which already had windows 8. The task looks trivial. What could be easier, demolish 8 and put 7. But it turned out to be more and more interesting and difficult, this work took much longer than I expected.

The first problem arose when I tried to boot from the dvd drive. There was simply no choice of where to boot from. In principle, no problem, we go to the BIOS and…. there is also no choice of devices. This puzzled me a little. The hard drive is registered and it is proposed to add a device. Well, why is there the Internet, then, not for sitting in in social networks.

After carefully studying this issue, I am sharing a solution to this problem. In the BIOS settings, in the "boot / boot" tab, enable "Launch CSM". In the "security / security" tab, disable " Secure Boot Control ". Save changes and exit. Press "F2" to enter BIOS settings again. And here it is, a menu familiar to the eye, with a choice of devices to boot. Loading from installation disk, install windows 7.

Then the next ambush awaited me. At the first reboot, the laptop just freezes .. The choice of 64/32 did not help either. Everything stopped at loading the drivers for the hard drive. Again I had to spend a lot of time to understand what the problem was.

It turned out that the hard drive was formatted for GPT and, accordingly, refused to install windows 7. There are many tips on how to convert a disc to preserve the information you want. In my case, there was nothing of value in the laptop, therefore, I just formatted the entire disk. This turned out to be not enough, I still had to clean boot sectors using Acronis Disk Director, from the remnants of windows 8.

How to reinstall windows 7 explorer

Despite all the efforts of the developers software at Microsoft to come up with something better than a simple and functional windows 7, they have not yet succeeded. Yes, with a clear conscience, we can say that those who at least once managed to work on a laptop with this operating system are unlikely to want to return to their own old windows XP or even the brand new Windows 8. But what if you failed to get such an OS as a reward for your ASUS laptop? What? Yes, installing it on your PC and forgetting about the problem, installing OS Windows 7 on an ASUS laptop is not difficult!

Step # 1: Prepare your PC for OS installation

Where does the reinstallation of any operating system on a laptop begin? Right! With appropriate preparation for it. Note that in order to reinstall Windows, you should initially take care of performing two extremely important steps:

  1. prepare drivers for ASUS laptop;
  2. copy valuable data from your hard drive.

In principle, every task is clear as daylight. In particular, in order to prepare drivers for an ASUS laptop, it is enough to download them from the official website (www.asus.com/ru/) of the manufacturer and write them to a disk or flash drive:

At the same time, as great as Windows 7 is, it would be foolish to sacrifice your graduation work / annual report / family archive and other valuable documents stored on the C drive in your laptop for it. In this case, when you are going to reinstall the operating system, you should first copy data from the hard disk to a USB flash drive or DVD. To do this, just use windows Explorer and the notorious combination of Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V keys on the keyboard.

However, if you part, for example, with a licensed operating room windows system 8 you really don't want to, you can even install it on an SSD. You can read about this "difficult" process in detail.

Step # 2: Burn the bootable USB stick

Note that you can install, as, in principle, and reinstall, on a laptop asus Windows 7, you can not only from a flash drive, but also from a disk. There will be practically no difference for installation (reinstallation) from this. However, given the fact that many modern ASUS notebook models do not have drives, even having a licensed disc with Windows 7, it will not be easy to use it directly. At the same time, absolutely all PCs have a USB connector. So the variant with a flash drive, as you can see, will be universal.

What are we doing? First, download the original windows image 7 from the Internet or copy it from the installation disk to your computer. Then we install the UltraISO program and run it in test mode (" Trial period"). In it, through the "File" - "Open ..." menu, add a virtual image of Windows 7 for recording:

Now we insert a USB flash drive into the computer, on which the Windows 7 image will be installed, open the "Bootstrapping" section in the UltraISO program and click the "Burn image ..." item. Next, in a new window, select USB-HDD as the recording method and click "Format":

The next step is to give the program permission to format the USB flash drive, and then select "Write" in the new window:

Did you have any difficulties with this? Still want? Then we move on to the next step of installing our adored Windows 7 on an asus laptop.

Step # 3: Perform BIOS settings

In order to install Windows 7 on an ASUS laptop without any problems, you will need to make a number of settings in the BIOS. To begin with, of course, you need to enter it. How to do it? When booting the computer, press Del / F2 / Tab + F2 / Shift + F2 on the keyboard.

In the same tab, we find the Launch CSM item and select the Enabled parameter for this option instead of Disabled. Next, go to the Security section next to Boot and deactivate the Secure Boot Control option using the Disabled parameter. Press F10, save the settings (YES) and exit the BIOS. Now the only thing left is to directly install (reinstall) the OS on the ASUS laptop.

Step # 4: Install the operating system

So, after all the preparatory steps have been completed, it remains only to install the prepared Windows 7 image on the laptop. In principle, this process will begin the very minute the computer exits the BIOS. A window will appear on the screen that will notify you of the need to press any key to load the flash drive. What are we doing? We press, of course, and immediately go to setting up Windows... First of all, select the language, click "Next", and then "Install":

After that, we read and agree to the license terms, and then select the "Full installation" item in the new window as an option for installing (reinstalling) on \u200b\u200ba Windows 7 laptop:

Now we are determined with the disk on which we want to reinstall Windows 7, click on it with the mouse, click the "Disk Setup" item, and then "Format":

Note that at this stage Windows 7 may ask you to install drivers. Not a problem? Of course not, we took care of them at the very beginning. Now we just load them ourselves, using the prompts on the screen:

Step # 5: Select Custom Settings and Finish Installation

In principle, in order to reinstall the Windows 7 asus on a laptop, just a little work remains. What is required? Just select the parameters we need to work on a laptop. You will have to act in this order:

Basically, with the last step, the process of installing (reinstalling) Windows 7 on a laptop from ASUS will be completed. Just? What do you think? In principle, there is nothing difficult to reinstall Windows on your computer! Enjoy your work with Windows 7!

Hello! Yesterday I got my hands on a new laptop ASUS X501A. It was necessary to install Windows, and everything you need, turnkey shorter :). I twisted it and found that there was no CD / DVD drive in it. And this means that you need to create a bootable USB flash drive and install Windows 7 from it. Also, the drivers for it on the disk are included, you also need to rewrite it to the USB flash drive. In general, it is strange, a laptop without a drive, and a driver on a disk. You need to put the driver in the kit on the USB flash drive, or an external drive :).

Anyway. I created a bootable USB flash drive. First created using a special program Windows 7 USB / DVD Download Tool (I wrote about this), but I’ll say running on before that for some reason the installation of Windows 7 from this flash drive did not work. The white cursor just blinked and the installation did not proceed. I wrote it down and it worked. Why so, did not understand :).

That's it, the flash drive is ready. Now you need to install the boot from this flash drive in BIOS. Now I'll tell you how to do it.

We set the boot from a USB flash drive on an Asus laptop

We go into the BIOS. For me, and most likely for you, this is a key F2 (if not, then try DEL too)... Press it immediately after starting the laptop.

The flash drive should already be connected to the laptop!

As you can see (in the screenshot below), under me Boot Option # 1 there is a hard drive. And under Boot Option # 2 flash drive. You need to install a flash drive under # 1.

To do this, click on Boot Option #1 and select the USB stick. And the hard drive will automatically take second place.

You can return to the previous menu by clicking on Esc and you will see a USB device is installed under Boot Option # 1.

Don't forget to click F10 and Yes to save the settings.

That's it, after restarting the laptop, boot from the USB flash drive should go (if created correctly).

There is one caveat. Perhaps I was mistaken when setting the parameters in BIOS, there probably you just had to create another rule for loading (Add New Boot Option). But that's okay.

If you did everything like me, then most likely, during the installation of Windows, after the reboot, the boot from the USB flash drive will start. And you need with drive C to proceed with the installation. I just reboot pulled out a flash drive... And when the download started from drive C, I inserted it back (although, it seems like it is no longer needed for installation, the files have already been copied, but I could be wrong).

Possible problems installing Windows 7 from a USB 3.0 flash drive

You may have noticed that my USB drive has a new USB 3.0 interface. And Windows 7 does not support USB 3.0, special drivers needed.

If the drive itself with USB 3.0, then it's okay. Just plug it into the socket on your laptop USB 2.0 and everything will work.

Good luck!
